My father spent the last few weeks of his wonderful life in Oakhill House. His condition incapacitated him. The staff of the centre provided delicate humane care which maintained my father's dignity and humour. During his last day they also looked after my mother, brother, daughter and myself as we sat beside him. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication, compassion and love.

My friend has been in Oakhill House since June 2021 and has always been happy
Sadly a lot of staff have left for one reason or another which is a shame as there were some really lovely carers but I am starting to see new faces now.
The staff seem much happier in the last couple of months and it really notices as I now hear laughter and singing when they are working which is something I had not seen before
The Jubilee celebrations although small was great to see everyone involved, even the temporary manager was cooking on the day which shows teamwork

I cannot fault the staff who work so hard every day, the only gripe I have is the phone system which is very temperamental, but the nice temporary manager has given me the email addresses so I am able to contact the home and they are very quick at replying which gives me confidence

I am pleased with how my cousin likes being in the home as she always said that she did not want to go into a care home so it was a difficult decision to make when I was not able to look after her anymore, but she is happier than I ever thought she would be and the team make me so welcome when I visit and I hear the people being spoken to nicely by the staff and this has made such a difference to her life. I think the activities could be a bit better but on the whole, I have no complaints and any niggles I may have are fixed quickly so I am happy.

My friend joined Oakhill House in December 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, my only dealings have been over the telephone and/or email until carefully controlled visits were reintroduced. The staff I have dealt with have been really kind and helpful. I feel my friend is cared for well. Sometimes it's difficult to get through by telephone, but my emails are always answered promptly.

Kind, supportive and helpful staff. As Mum was admitted during the lockdown, I can't comment on inside the home, but what I have seen is compassion.

My mother has been treated appallingly.
Left in her bed until a visit is due.
Bruises all over her legs and feet.
The management of this horrendous home do not care about the residents.
This morning thought I’d put in a visit a little earlier to find Mum in bed with coffee and breakfast all over her and fresh bruises!
Luckily for her and myself we have found a lovely new home where I have no doubt she will be treated with the utmost respect.
Oakhill House should be closed! It’s substandard in all accounts.

Thirty-plus residents with only three assistants on. Outrageous and it’s not Mum’s fault or mine.

What I have witnessed over the last couple of weeks no one should go near.
Short-staffed rude managers.
Absolutely a big letdown.
Horsham has homes that are 100% better on all levels.

Mother in law has horrific bruises and is scared of some staff.

My mum came to this home as a short term placement following a stay in hospital. As a family, we are delighted that she is now staying permanently. When she arrived at the end of April she couldn’t stand or feed herself. Now she can do both. The care and attention she receives is outstanding. Everyone I have met has been so friendly and kind. The visits take place with ease and mum always looks so well. The only criticism I would have is that it’s sometimes very difficult to reach them by phone. Otherwise an amazing care home with amazing, kind and caring staff.

I cannot rate this home highly enough. From the moment my mum arrived to the moment she passed away, she received outstanding care and treatment. The staff were always kind and compassionate, not only to mum but to us as a family. It's been a tough year for them all but they continued to deliver with a smile on their face. Can't comment on food as didn't try it but mum said it was good. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I would just like to thank all the staff for their care for my dad. The level of care was exceptional and my Dad's passing was up and down for a good few weeks. We were phoned every day, informed every time something changed, and treated with respect at that very difficult time, once again thank you to all at Oakhill House.

I wanted to take a moment to really recognise the hard work that every single person in this home, from the top down work so incredibly hard to care for the residents they look after. This has been the year from hell for everyone. I didn’t see my mother for 4-months. I now see her weekly in the garden. She looks better than I’ve ever seen her and she is always so happy. They really have looked after my mum well through this pandemic, and they deserve every credit.

Thank you, Oakhill House, from the bottom of my heart!

My great-grandma recently passed away at the home after living there for a couple of years. Her care at the end of her life was excellent and staff showed their compassion not just to her but to us as well, making sure we were all updated and were able to stay with her as much as we wanted to.

My good friend has been at the home for around a year now and every time I visit she is happy and joining in with everything around her. Although she doesn’t always remember me, the staff make a big effort to talk to us both to try and jog her memory.
I’m always offered a drink and asked if I want to stay for meals, which I have not done so far but would be more than happy to join her in the dining room with her fellow residents.
The atmosphere is warm and I’m always impressed with how well she is treated and how everyone seems to be happy.

From the manager and receptionist down to every grade of staff, the home shows that they are a caring and committed bunch who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome.

I came to visit my Nanna who has recently moved into Oakhill House Care Home. In first walking in the atmosphere seemed very friendly and homely.
The staff were very approachable and very understanding of my Nanna’s care needs. My Nanna has settled in very well seeing as she was very apprehensive in moving into a care home as she was living at home only a few months ago.
I feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulder as I know my Nanna is well looked after.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all the help and support they have showed my Nanna and my family.
