Oakland Grange

I spent 3 weeks at Oakland Grange following a fall where I fractured my lower leg and ankle. I was non-weight bearing, and needed assistance with all my personal care. The health care assistants were so patient, kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble, and they were always bright and cheerful. The night staff were especially most helpful. The daytime activities were always enjoyable. The meals were very good, my husband enjoyed lunch at the weekends. One problem seemed to be that there was only 1 toilet downstairs is that would take my wheelchair and zimmer frame. There was often a queue for this toilet, especially around meal times. I really enjoyed the garden.

I have personally visited a friend who has been in Oaklands Grange for 2 years, every week.

The things that he finds he enjoys most are the warmth and friendliness of everybody there and the lovely food that the chef serves up every day

He doesn't take advantage of the activities that are offered, as he prefers to stay quietly reading and watching TV in his room

I went to the summertime party, what a party! The staff looked amazing in 60's these clothes. The singer was great and had everyone joining in, either singing along and dancing, even the residents had 60's things on. The buffet was great, and drinks, and a great raffle. There was a lot of support from residents' families of all ages. Would I go to another one? Definitely!

Mum has been in Oaklands grange for about 6 months now, and I can honestly say that the staff are excellent. Nothing is to much trouble always very helpful I would recommend it to anyone,.ive got to know the people who work there very well so it's a joy for my mum to be staying there.

We were invited to take our Mother to there 60's party on Thursday 24th July . It was amazing a fabulous afternoon all the staff made us feel so welcome. The food and entrainment was brilliant thank you very much for putting a smile on our Mother's face.

Recently we really enjoyed the yearly Summer Party which was a real success due to all the hard work of the Staff.

Staff are amazing and go above and beyond for both residents and their relatives. The summer party was a joyful, fun event for both residents and the many family members who attended. My thanks to all who worked so hard to make it a success, especial thanks to the kitchen for the delicious and plentiful buffet.

My mum stayed at Oakland Grange for 2 weeks respite care. Her overall experience was fantastic, the staff went above and beyond and were so kind and caring. The home was cosy, warm and very clean. The weekly entertainment was varied and enjoyable. As a daughter I felt very reassured leaving mum there. It certainly quickened her convalescent care. Thanks very much to everyone at Oakland Grange - you were brilliant.

We are just a few weeks into my grandfather's moving into residential care at Oakland Grange. He chose here because he stayed in 2020 for respite care during an illness at the peak of the pandemic. The care was exceptional then. He returned this year and it is still wonderful care. It has a homely feel, carers really do care. The homely feel or even old style beach hotel is really warming. The food is excellent and good portions with a lovely variety. Keep up the great work team. Varied activities weekly. Many Thanks

My Grandmother stayed here for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. The staff are exceptional and it is thanks to their hard work and dedication that this is such a wonderful home. The staff are friendly, kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I was able to leave my Grandmother there knowing that she was happy and being well cared for. The cleanliness is outstanding and the quality and choice of food is incredible. My Grandmothers dog was allowed to visit her, which she and other residents enjoyed. It feels like one big family and we were very emotional when it was time for my Grandmother to leave. I can highly recommend Oakland Grange for anyone who wants a loved one to receive the best possible care. Thank you to all the staff involved in my Grandmothers care and for making her stay such a positive experience. We cannot thank you enough.

My stepmum put herself in your lovely care home after she had a fall at home and lost her confidence, she was just getting better when she fell again in her room. I cannot thank you enough for your quickness at getting her to hospital, it turns out she'd had a stroke and the person who found her probably saved her life. She is still in hospital and we're taking one day at a time. I know she would thank you all for your kindness, good food and the cosiness of the home.

My friend is very independent, proud of her self-sufficiency, but her age was catching up fast, when unplanned circumstances lead to her moving to Oakland Grange. As a friend, I am sure this was the best outcome. Your high standards will be hard to match!

My brother-in-law is so happy living there and cannot fault anything.

I stayed at Oakland Grange for 2 weeks after my hip operation. The atmosphere was caring, happy and friendly I shall come back to stay when cannot live on my own anymore (I am 85). I've known the home since 1998 when my mother died here, she was so happy here. I've looked after old people and have visited Oakland Grange many times during the last 24 years. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a loving and peaceful home.

The place is immaculate, and the overall care is above and beyond. I am over the moon that we have found a safe environment. Thank you.

I would highly recommend Oakland Grange to my family and friends.

Every morning and afternoon there is entertainment of some description. Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and any excuse in between, are always celebrated in style. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and furnished. The lounge is sunny and comfortable. I sometimes join my aunt for Sunday lunch which is always delicious. Chef and the staff work very hard at ensuring that everyone is catered for, whatever the need or request. In a nutshell, Oakland Grange is a great 'find' on the south coast.

My mum has been a resident since May 2024. She has settled in really well. All of the staff and Manager are so kind, supportive, caring and approachable. My mum enjoys all of the activities and the entertainers that visit. The choice of food is very good and served in a lovely dining room. The gardens are well kept and spacious. My mum has a comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom. My mum is happy and so am I.

It turned out to be only a short stay for my father but during his time here he received nothing but superb care and compassionate attention from start to finish. From the first interaction to the last, we received nothing but friendly, happy and helpful responses from everyone involved in the day-to-day running of the establishment.
