I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Oakland Grange care home for the great care they took of my father. He lived there from 2019 to January 2023, when he sadly passed away at the grand old age of 101. He was very happy living there and particularly enjoyed all the entertainment. We both felt that the staff were excellent and did their very best to help all residents feel happy and at home. The building and interior are kept beautifully, with a great garden for the summer months.

Everything is very good here, as well as the food! I love the activities and the singing of carols was lovely, as I also played the harmonica with it. Friendly and helpful staff. They have been very helpful as my wife went to a wedding abroad.

All the staff are extremely friendly and caring and went out of their way to make my mum feel welcome during her respite stay. The rooms were always clean and the food provided was very good with a wide variety of options every day. The activities to entertain the residents were age appropriate and everyone was always seen to be enjoying themselves.

My Dad has been a resident of Oakland Grange for over five years. The care the staff have given over the years has been outstanding and they have always gone over and above to make sure Dad has the care he needs and made it his home, even to sitting with him when he is poorly and supporting us as a family at times. During lockdown, the staff were his family and I had the peace in knowing he was being well cared for, when I wasn't able to visit. The activities provided during the day are great, the staff get involved and encourage the residents to take part and are happy to dance and sing along with them. The home is maintained to a very high standard and the food provided is very good. I highly recommend Oakland Grange.

The staff are extremely friendly and caring and action any concerns. There is always a variety of daily activities to motivate and entertain the residents, although my mum does not always join in. The main areas in the home have recently been refurbished, creating a bright and comfortable environment. Although I do not live close and visit as often as I can, I wouldn't move my mum as she is settled and knows a familiar routine. I am happy knowing my dear mum is being looked after.

Oakland Grange is a bright, clean and welcoming home. The staff do their utmost for the patients, which with the resident's different requirements, must be sometimes taxing at times! All special events on the calendar are celebrated with decorations, food and entertainment, and the staff enter into the celebrations with great fun. Nowhere can be like home, but Oakland Grange certainly makes their home a loving and caring place, which is so important for relatives to leave their loved ones knowing they are in safe hands.

Really pleasant staff and management. Nice, clean room and good entertainment. If my mother-in-law is not happy here, she will not be happy anywhere.

The general feeling about the home is light and pleasant with a very nice garden.

My mum has been having respite care at Oakland Grange and some of it has had to be arranged at very short notice. The staff have taken this in their stride and I cannot praise them enough for their support for me and the care that they have given my mum. They are so helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble.

I am really pleased I found Oakland Grange when looking for a care home for my mum. The home always feels welcoming when you arrive; I particularly like the very airy lounge areas, nicely laid dining tables all with a lovely view of the gardens. Her room is bright, very clean and yet has a homely feel. The staff are always friendly and cheerful and my mum has settled in really well now after being there for 6 weeks and is being well looked after.

I have lived at Oakland Grange for almost two-and-a-half years and have been very happy here throughout. There have been two Managers during that time and both have been very friendly and helpful, as indeed are the entire Staff. The Home is comfortable and attractive and there is a lovely large well-kept garden with plenty of seats and parasols scattered about. The standard of meals is high and all residents are frequently asked for suggestions as to any particular food choices they would like to see on the menu. In short, I feel lucky to be part of a friendly community in such a well-run and attractive Care Home.

After spending seven and a half weeks here last year and enjoyed the service of all the staff. I decided I would come each week and call the bingo numbers, and help in anyway I can and arrange for a baptist church service. Should my two sons be told I can't look after myself I am coming back here.

Firstly, let me say that I have visited Oakland Grange on a number of occasions recently and the on-duty staff have been most welcoming. I have been impressed by the security at the entrance, and the compliance with Covid19 rules.
The standard of cleanliness appears to be very good and the absence of trip hazards is also good. All the staff are very friendly and supportive.
Recently it has come to my attention that the standard of catering is below par. In view of the pressures of Care home companies to survive in this inflationary period, I understand that sourcing victuals is a major expense. But having paid for those items and then for the staff to undercook them is unforgivable. To serve undercooked meat is a problem for the fit and healthy, but for the vulnerable people in our society is a potentially life-changing event.
I sincerely hope that Oakland Grange can take charge of the catering staff responsible for producing undercooked meat as it is unforgivable.

Regards

Thank you for taking the time to bring your experience to our attention. We're aware that during the lunch service you refer to, one of our residents was served a sausage that was pink on the inside, and so asked for it to be taken away as they believed the sausage looked undercooked. All our food...

The staff are welcoming every time I visit to see dad on a daily basis. They are all very friendly, helpful and sociable. Dad took a while to settle but with the encouragement and support of the staff is now much happier. The lady who does the activities encourages everybody to join in and assist when needed. The gardens, building itself and the food are superb.

What a find! I visited several care homes when mum told me that she was lonely living at home on her own, she always told me she would know when the time was right and I wanted to make sure she received the best care possible. As soon as I walked into Oakland Grange it felt right, the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable, the residents all looked happy and everywhere was clean, a nice relaxed feeling. I took mum to see for herself and she was happy to go for respite care, well we started with 2 weeks then to 4 weeks now she calls it home and is extremely happy, she looks brighter, the food is very good and she is joining in all of the lovely activities, every day there is something different to do and take part in. I've no worries about mum's care, all the care staff are wonderful, fun, caring and go the extra mile to make sure everything is just right including district nurse visits, doctors etc. A big thanks to all of you at Oakland Grange for your care, love and commitment.

Mum's health is greatly improved since taking up residence in February. She is as well as she can be considering her health and age.The improvement is no doubt a reflection of the excellent care she receives. Staff are cheerful, attentive and considerate of individual needs. Entertainment is plentiful and Mum takes part in activities she wouldn't have attempted a few months ago.

My mother has been a resident of Oakland Grange for seven-plus years, all of which have made her very happy. Staff are professional but still retain their warmth and friendship to both residents and visitors. There is a good feeling as soon as you walk in the door of this well decorated and spotlessly clean home. The manager and her team are all to be congratulated on their dedication and good humour during these particularly challenging Covid years, which they have managed with such patience and skill. A really lovely place.
