Excelcare Aliwal Manor Care Home

Very pleased with the care my mother receives, she gets on well with all the staff. They looked after her very well when she was ill and she is now back to her normal self. Well done to them all in getting through this difficult time.

Our Nan has seemed to blossom during her time in Aliwal Manor. We no longer worry about her being on her own and feel confident that she is being looked after and settled. As visitors, always made welcome and we love looking at the social media photographs!

As a family, it was decided that our mother needed more care and attention than living in her flat. Carers did come in but mum still kept falling during nights and days. Since she was admitted she has really looked better and seemed more ready to join in chats and organises activities. The staff have made it pleasant and welcoming that it was the best decision we made.

She is included in the activities which I feel she enjoys. The staff are always on hand to ensure she is looked after. She has put on a little weight recently which is good. The home is clean and well looked after.

A welcoming and friendly place with caring and attentive staff that is well run. A visit always begins with a warm welcome, followed by full use of amenities when with your respective residential family member. A high level of care is always provided, from attentive and respectful staff members.

It's a very caring and friendly place. Everyone is very nice and don't mind what they do. No complaints at all.

Management and staff are very good, all residents are made to feel that this is their home and are treated with respect and dignity. Great place if you are in need of this care.

It feels like a home from home. My grandma and grandad are very well looked after and are happy. It's perfect for their needs.

First impressions are vital and mine were more than satisfied on my first visit/viewing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Residents were happy and chatty and the whole place had more of an 'old school' feel rather than a 'clinical' environment.

Pet chickens, bingo and your own hairdresser. What more do you want!

From the first introduction by the management team to my parents (one in respite care, one in hospital) the transition to Aliwal Manor has been excellent. They have delivered what they promised in a caring, compassionate, fun way. They have been calm and professional when things have gone wrong (parents falling). They make residents feel special. Well run, well led, great team, safe environment = happy residents!

My friend has been welcomed to a new home and has been helped to settle in by every member of staff. Lovely atmosphere in the home and really caring carers.

Father-in-law admitted as an interim bed, been made to feel very welcome and encouraged to be independent again. His mobility and confidence has improved loads thanks to staff.

When the family go mother in law seems to be busy Bingo etc, which is lovely she is keeping busy.

Every time I visit Nan the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms Nan uses are all clean and tidy.

Couldn't fault Aliwal Manor. The staff are so kind and helpful, just sorry my relative was not able to stay. But, the staff were helpful in finding us another care home which I was most grateful to a sister company which made it a less stressful move. I cannot speak more highly of the manager and team. Thank you for helping me through a very stressful time.

Based on visits to the home and information given to us by the resident who has full capacity but is totally blind and therefore cannot take or does not want to take part in many of the activities. We have always found the staff caring and willing to assist.

I have found the Aliwal care home very clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. My mother who resides there is happy and well looked after.

The Aliwal Manor care home is like a home from home for the residents. The staff are so kind and compassionate to those in their care. They are prepared to go that extra mile.
