Caring for 32 people, Aliwal Manor is a small, intimate care home with a big heart. They offer expert, personal care and support to people needing respite care and long-term residential care, residential dementia care and end of life care in a comfortable and attractive environment.

The team members, many of whom live in the local areas of Whittlesey, Turves and Peterborough, pride themselves on their warm and friendly approach and develop strong relationships with residents, and those closest to them, to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to care.

They also run a day centre once a week for elderly people living in the community to visit and help develop new friendships.

Although dad's time at Aliwal Manor was short, the care he received was excellent. Knowing he was so well looked after gave us peace of mind, for which we are so thankful. We have nothing but admiration for all the staff at Aliwal Manor, they are fabulous.

Always responsive and understanding. The staff are kind and always show empathy. The manager and deputy manager are very easy to talk to and always ready to discuss any concerns. I know mum was well looked after and happy at Aliwal Manor.

My mother is very stubborn and resisted at first to going into care. Now she is very settled and has nothing but good to say about the staff.
Only thing she complains about is the standard of food, she has always been a keen cook but has very exacting standards where food is concerned.

Our Nan has seemed to blossom during her time in Aliwal Manor. We no longer worry about her being on her own and feel confident that she is being looked after and settled. As visitors, always made welcome and we love looking at the social media photographs!

As a family, it was decided that our mother needed more care and attention than living in her flat. Carers did come in but mum still kept falling during nights and days. Since she was admitted she has really looked better and seemed more ready to join in chats and organises activities. The staff have
made it pleasant and welcoming that it was the best decision we made.

My mother seems content at Aliwal Manor.
She is included in the activities which I feel she enjoys. The staff are always on hand to ensure she is looked after. She has put on a little weight recently which is good. The home is clean and well looked after.

A welcoming and friendly place with caring and attentive staff that is well run. A visit always begins with a warm welcome, followed by full use of amenities when with your respective residential family member. A high level of care is always provided, from attentive and respectful staff members.

First impressions are vital and mine were more than satisfied on my first visit/viewing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Residents were happy and chatty and the whole place had more of an 'old school' feel rather than a 'clinical' environment.

From the first introduction by the management team to my parents (one in respite care, one in hospital) the transition to Aliwal Manor has been excellent. They have delivered what they promised in a caring, compassionate, fun way. They have been calm and professional when things have gone wrong (parents

Sally Allen

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Sally has worked in care for 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including Care Homes, Rehabilitation Units and providing End of Life care for people in their own homes.


Sally then progressed to Team Manager, working for a domiciliary care agency.


Sally joined Aliwal on May 23 as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Home Manager on November 23.


Sally has achieved her NVQ levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards level 5.

Simona

Simona Nikova

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021

Simona has been working in the care sector for 15 years, providing person-centered care to individuals in both residential and nursing settings.


Starting as a Healthcare Assistant, Simona worked her way through the sector getting experience in different roles, before recently being promoted to the Deputy Manager at Aliwal Manor. Her varied experience, caring nature, and developed skill set mean she is the perfect person for this role.
