Caring for 32 people, Aliwal Manor is a small, intimate care home with a big heart. They offer expert, personal care and support to people needing respite care and long-term residential care, residential dementia care and end of life care in a comfortable and attractive environment.

The team members, many of whom live in the local areas of Whittlesey, Turves and Peterborough, pride themselves on their warm and friendly approach and develop strong relationships with residents, and those closest to them, to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to care.

They also run a day centre once a week for elderly people living in the community to visit and help develop new friendships.

My elderly friend and neighbour first visited Aliwal Manor Care Home last summer for respite while I was away on holiday. This was followed by her becoming a full time resident at the end of the summer. She has settled in very well and we find the home to be very comfortable and caring. The food
and entertainment is very good and the communication is excellent. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anybody looking for a caring home from home environment.

My mother was very nervous when first arriving, this was the second home we tried. There were tears when we left her. Two weeks respite later she was happy and smiling. 24-hour care got too much for me so arranged a second respite time. By the end of that, she now has two places called home. My house
and Aliwal. She is happy and the staff have got her involved much more with the others. No pressure just enthusiasm, caring and understanding. Wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. Thanks Aliwal!

My mother has been here for 3 weeks and can’t fault the service. Staff are very caring and can’t do enough to make the residents comfortable. The gardens and facilities are amazing, my mum has been encouraged to spend time outside something she hasn’t done for ages. Would say highly recommend if you

Since the moment my dad was to be placed at Aliwal Manor the care of the staff has been great, from liaising with the hospital, his GP, and the family. His respite care has helped him enormously. He is treated with respect and dignity. The food is very good and they cater for his food allergy well.
Happy to recommend to others in a similar position who need residential care, whether it be short or long-term.

My mum came to Aliwal Manor after discharge from hospital for Interim Care. Unfortunately, Mum was unable to benefit from all their amazing care, in as much as she is now end-of-life. Nevertheless, I am really impressed and truly grateful for their kindness and compassion. Nothing is too much trouble.

My family and I are most satisfied with Aliwal Manor Care Home. The staff are very caring and meet all our Mum's needs. The standard of food is highly recommended. Cleanliness throughout the home is first-rate. We have always found the Manager to be most helpful and easy to talk to. We find all the
staff most approachable and willing to help with any queries one might have. Throughout Covid, they have managed extremely well although like every other home all entertainment brought into the home weekly had to stop but the lifestyle co-ordinator has kept all residents very happy and busy with lots of activities to ensure they get regular stimulation and exercise as well as many games and much laughter shared with other residents whilst taking part.

My Nan is very happy at Aliwal and is full of praise for all the staff. There is always something fun and engaging for all the residents, and Nan sometimes participates which is keeping her stimulated. Well done all that work at and run this loving care home.

My auntie was so looked after, it was like she had extended family with all of the carers. She was so happy. When my auntie passed away in June the carers went above and beyond, not just for my auntie but for myself too. My auntie's dementia needs were always met and always with a smile. When I was
with her and a carer walked in she welcomed them with a lovely smile, she loved them all and she used to tell them that too. It’s never easy having a loved one in a care home but here, it was the perfect home in all areas. A big thank you to you all, you are all amazing.

I am very happy with the care my Nan receives, she has praised all the staff herself and is very happy here. The staff are professional friendly and helpful. They have also been very vigilant during the pandemic making sure the residents stay safe during visits.

I cannot fault the care given on a daily basis to my Mum, the care and compassion is exceptional. All the staff are amazing and so dedicated to their jobs displaying caring qualities above and beyond. They have kept our loved ones safe throughout the pandemic and continue to do so. The residents and

Treated with nothing but exemplary care, kindness and dignity. Whilst only there for 12 weeks I was made to feel very welcome by the wonderful staff and residents add my every need catered for. I would also say that the quality of the meals provided was excellent - worthy of any restaurant.

Sally Allen

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Sally has worked in care for 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including Care Homes, Rehabilitation Units and providing End of Life care for people in their own homes.


Sally then progressed to Team Manager, working for a domiciliary care agency.


Sally joined Aliwal on May 23 as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Home Manager on November 23.


Sally has achieved her NVQ levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards level 5.

Simona

Simona Nikova

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021

Simona has been working in the care sector for 15 years, providing person-centered care to individuals in both residential and nursing settings.


Starting as a Healthcare Assistant, Simona worked her way through the sector getting experience in different roles, before recently being promoted to the Deputy Manager at Aliwal Manor. Her varied experience, caring nature, and developed skill set mean she is the perfect person for this role.
