Dorrington House (Dereham) is a purpose-built facility that is located close to the town centre, with ample parking and one acre of established gardens. All rooms are ground floor single with en-suite facilities. The home offers Wi-Fi facilities for video visiting, and all care plans are available online.

Communal areas include a spacious main lounge/dining room as well as a bar area. Entertainment is also held in this room as well as fundraising events for 'Friends of the Home'. There is a large flat screen television for residents and a wide selection of traditional meals are offered.

Families are welcome at any time and the team encourage them to spend meaningful time with their loved ones, playing an active role in their care. Feel free to ask for the username and password to view the online care plan from home - contact the team for further details.

Relatives are welcome to come and share a meal with the residents if they wish and if ordered in advance. Residents have the use of a greenhouse and some of the more physically able residents use the greenhouse and sell the flowers and vegetables to raise money for 'Friends of the Home'. Mum is very introverted and the staff have worked really hard to encourage and support her despite her protestations. She is very well cared for and supported and some of the staff really go the extra mile to make her feel called for - when there are any issues for mum communications are frequent and
informative.

My grandmother is very well looked after here. She very rarely takes part in activities but the staff are great at getting her involved. She seems very happy here and all the staff I have met have been great.

While visiting mum the carers were dealing with a very demanding resident. They were so patient and kind. They are very friendly and look after the residents extremely well. I was very impressed with all the staff.

Mum is very well looked after here it has a lovely welcoming, warm atmosphere and feels like a family home. The staff are competent, kind and very caring. Mum is very happy and safe which is a true blessing.

I recently visited my nanny for the first time and I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at the home. She’s content and she was very nervous about moving out of her home, but the staff have helped her settle in nicely. I did meet one of the managers and she took the time to answer some of
my questions and was really helpful. The home is very clean which is one of the “must haves” my mother wanted when choosing a home for my nanny.

Dorrington House is streets ahead of many care homes I've looked at and has become a possible 'home' experience for Mum. There is always someone in sight, usually interacting with the clients which is a real comfort. Communication is excellent which is crucial for us, as Mum has many needs which are
quickly and efficiently tended to through quick chats or email exchanges. Excellent care, that is heartfelt.

The staff at Dorrington House have made the move from own home/semi-independent living to residential care a simple and worry-free process. The staff have been caring and supportive during this difficult process, reassuring the family that their relative is well looked after.

I find the team to be very knowledgeable and always helpful on the telephone. They are taking good care of my relative following a long time spent living alone with dementia. Everyone at Dorrington House is very welcoming. A very serene environment. And the home is very organised. A place to park is not a problem because they have a very spacious car park. Generally good to excellent care with several staff exceptional. Challenges of staff turnover and the frailty of many residents need to be understood... not least at national and local government levels. Management structure could be clearer.

My nan lived at this care home until she passed away. She was very happy and the staff were great with her and with my family when she passed. My wife's nan currently lives here and she has improved somewhat mentally since having 24/7 care and more social interaction. The staff are lovely.

First visit to see Dad at Dorrington House. The management staff, care team and catering personnel were all extremely helpful and friendly. Any questions asked or request made was answered with knowledge and actioned.
All residents I saw seemed well cared for, as did Dad. It makes me feel easy that
Dad is getting all his needs met in a safe and friendly environment.
