Dorrington House (Dereham)

The staff are really friendly and genuinely care about everyone. The management team are always available for families to talk to if necessary and they take into account the wishes of families and residents.

Outstanding care and support from all the staff. A very friendly, happy environment which my mother enjoys. Always lots of activities for all residents. Spotlessly clean and tidy care home also with a beautiful garden area enjoyed by all. I know that mum is well looked after at all times and we have 24/7 contact with the Dorrington House Team. They are all truly an excellent team. We are so lucky and grateful that mum is happy here.

Mum is very introverted and the staff have worked really hard to encourage and support her despite her protestations. She is very well cared for and supported and some of the staff really go the extra mile to make her feel called for - when there are any issues for mum communications are frequent and informative.

My grandmother is very well looked after here. She very rarely takes part in activities but the staff are great at getting her involved. She seems very happy here and all the staff I have met have been great.

While visiting mum the carers were dealing with a very demanding resident. They were so patient and kind. They are very friendly and look after the residents extremely well. I was very impressed with all the staff.

My brother has been here for over 2 years and has been very well looked after. I visit any add times and I am always made welcome.

Always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Food is always good when we turn up at meal times and the choice of food for residents is good. They have various activities arranged to keep everyone entertained.

Mum is very well looked after here it has a lovely welcoming, warm atmosphere and feels like a family home. The staff are competent, kind and very caring. Mum is very happy and safe which is a true blessing.

I recently visited my nanny for the first time and I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at the home. She’s content and she was very nervous about moving out of her home, but the staff have helped her settle in nicely. I did meet one of the managers and she took the time to answer some of my questions and was really helpful. The home is very clean which is one of the “must haves” my mother wanted when choosing a home for my nanny.

Dorrington House is streets ahead of many care homes I've looked at and has become a possible 'home' experience for Mum. There is always someone in sight, usually interacting with the clients which is a real comfort. Communication is excellent which is crucial for us, as Mum has many needs which are quickly and efficiently tended to through quick chats or email exchanges. Excellent care, that is heartfelt.

They engage well with us and have a genuine caring approach to our relative's needs.

Very nice care home. Overall warm, caring place. We bring our dog, it's very dog-friendly, the residents and staff love him.

My mother has been at the care home for one year and is enjoying her time at Dorrington House. She loves having chats with the excellent staff, who are always kind and helpful. Well done to all management and staff.

I find the team to be very knowledgeable and always helpful on the telephone. They are taking good care of my relative following a long time spent living alone with dementia. I am confident that she is as happy as can be expected due to her condition and feel pleased to know she has company and that the care staff are taking good care of her needs.

Everyone at Dorrington House is very welcoming. A very serene environment. And the home is very organised. A place to park is not a problem because they have a very spacious car park. I will recommend Dorrington House to everyone. Your loved ones will be properly taken care of. Residents are treated with so much dignity and care.

Generally good to excellent care with several staff exceptional. Challenges of staff turnover and the frailty of many residents need to be understood... not least at national and local government levels. Management structure could be clearer.

My nan lived at this care home until she passed away. She was very happy and the staff were great with her and with my family when she passed. My wife's nan currently lives here and she has improved somewhat mentally since having 24/7 care and more social interaction. The staff are lovely.

Nan came to Dorrington House a year ago. She really loves the home, adores the staff and has so much fun joining in with the activities. The improvement we have seen in a year shows how great the home is. The communication and management are also fantastic. Thank you so much for taking great care of her!

All residents I saw seemed well cared for, as did Dad. It makes me feel easy that Dad is getting all his needs met in a safe and friendly environment.
