My mum enjoyed her short break with you, 4 days. The staff made her very welcome. She enjoyed the food. It was nice for me to get a call from management to say that she had settled in well.
Thank you for your kind review, we hope you will consider using us again in the future. We really appreciate the 5 star review for staff!
Lovely bedroom, home and staff. The food was nice and I was offered drinks regularly. I made friends with some of the residents. I enjoyed my shower.
Thank you for your kind review we hope you consider using us again in the future should you need to.
My mother spent six weeks in Ellacombe for respite care. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and care she received. We felt constantly reassured she was safe and well cared for whilst we had some respite. We will definitely use Ellacombe again.
Really thrilled that we were lauded so highly. Thank you very much, your Mum was an absolute treasure.
My dad went into Ellacombe for two weeks respite, and we were extremely happy with the care he received. All staff were very caring and friendly. It was a pleasure to visit him there and see for ourselves how kind and efficient the staff were.
Thank you for your kind words; it was our pleasure.
Both my sister and brother-in-law have been residents at Ellacombe for over three years. During this period of time, their mental and physical well being are constantly monitored and addressed involving myself. I find the consistency of teamwork has been good, which reflects upon the ongoing high standards of care. During recent times, the Coronavirus has been challenging to the service and the changing needs have been met and managed well. My relatives are comfortable and Ellacombe, and I am grateful for all that is being done for them.
Thank you for your kind comments about the care and support your sister and brother-in-law are receiving at Ellacombe.
My mum has been living in Ellacombe for nearly a year now. A very difficult time my mum and I with awful dementia. The manager and all the staff have helped us get through the tough time being totally professional, caring and approachable. Importantly, ensuring their residents are looked after as individuals. Always positive with smiles on their faces even while we have all been through the hard times of Covid. The atmosphere suits whatever my mum fancies being involved in, from singing, dancing to a quiet time watching the birds in the sunshine. It helps my family and I to know she is safe, looked after by caring staff who have become her friends.
Thank you for this heartfelt review of the care and support your mum is receiving at Ellacombe.
Because of the hard work and dedication of the whole team, Ellacombe is doing a fantastic job in keeping its residents safe during the ongoing COVID pandemic. It is evident that the staff genuinely care for their residents and will always go “the extra mile” with nothing being too much trouble to ensure their well-being. An excellent well-run home.
Thank you for your kind words about the care and support provided at Ellacombe.
The staff at Ellacombe took really great care of my mum for nearly two years; during the past year of Covid-19 restrictions we were unable to have indoor visits at times but I was very grateful to the home for going to such great lengths to keep all the residents and staff safe and to keep us as a family informed as restrictions changed. During the good weather, gazebos were put up so that we could have garden visits; there were also arrangements in place for Skype calls and window visits managed by the wonderful wellbeing team over the winter months. I cannot thank everyone at Ellacombe enough for the kindness and support we had as a family particularly during such difficult times. The home itself is lovely with plenty of comfortable lounge areas inside and lovely garden areas outside with residents and visitors being encouraged to feel at home. I have no hesitation in recommending Ellacombe to anyone looking for a care home.
Thank you for your very kind comments about the care and support provided to your Mum at Ellacombe.
Very pleased with the kindness, care and compassion my mother received. We were treated with respect whenever the family visited her. The staff showed total professionalism throughout her stay. This is a smaller unit which made it more personal and dignified.
Thank you for your kind comments about the care and support your mother received at Ellacombe.
My mother was in the care home for three and a half years; she passed away at Easter 2020.
The caring staff are very kind, compassionate and professional. Her needs were largely met.
But... the company itself is not quite so benign.
My mother ceased being a self-funder a few months before she died. Norse Care were not prepared to take County Council rates so they wanted to move her on to another provider in Watson.
This was only averted when we said this was not really a humane way to treat an elderly, vulnerable human being. She was allowed to stay.
I advise you get this possibility aired with the company before taking up residence if you are likely to fall below the self-funding threshold during your stay.
Thank you for your kind comments about the care and support your mother received at Ellacombe. We have noted your comments about the situation concerning funding and have spoken again to Norfolk County Council about this situation.
Sadly she died in April having been taken ill early in February, again Ellacombe stepped up. She could have spent her final few months in the unfamiliar surroundings of a hospital, but Ellacombe, although not a nursing home said they were more than happy to keep her there.
To conclude the standard of her care throughout her stay was exceptional, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Ellacombe to anyone looking for a safe, secure and caring home for a loved one with dementia issues.
From my observation, this is also the case with all the other residents whose needs are treated with respect and as individuals with their own character and personality.
The food provided is always wholesome and nutritiously balanced. The cakes at teatime are a highlight!
I am always welcomed on my visits and made to feel at home. I am updated on my mother's health, activities and any concerns. Thank you for looking after her so well.
Thank you for your kind comments on the care and support your mother is receiving at Ellacombe.
Staff are very polite and caring to all concerned. They do their job well in the situations they have to deal with, some not so pleasant!
Smiling is well taken by all concerned, making one feel more relaxed at the time, in what lies ahead, with the illnesses they cope with.
Thank you for your kind words about the care and support provided at Ellacombe.
Our mother was a resident at Ellacombe for the last few months of her life before passing away in June. We have been very impressed with the quality and care shown to her during her stay especially during her last few weeks of life. All the staff were professional and displayed compassion and warmth towards her which we will always be grateful for.
Thank you for your kind comments about the care and support provided to your mother at Ellacombe. Please accept our condolences for your loss.
My Aunt is in Ellacombe where she is very happy. Being a very critical lady, I feel she is well cared for, the home is very clean and bright and the food is very good and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who give a very good standard of care. The residents are free to move around as they please including sitting or walking in the garden. They are kept clean and tidy and well supported in times of distress. From past experience, this home is one of the "BEST". I can only put this down to the manager and her team that makes Ellacombe run in a very efficient way.
Thank you for your extremely kind words about the care and support your Aunt is receiving at Ellacombe.
Staff and management are always cheerful and will answer any questions we have. Since my mum has been cared for at this home, I now no longer worry about my mum. Mum is happy here which is the main thing for us.
Thank you for your kind words about the care and support provided for your Mum at Ellacombe.
I have found all the staff and management all very kind and friendly and always very helpful.
Thank you for your kind words about the care and staff at Ellacombe.
My mother was a resident at Ellacombe for 3 1/2 years until she passed away in August this year. The care she received was excellent and in particular the last few weeks of her life when she required end of life care. The management and staff were always approachable and helpful. It was such a comfort to know she was so well looked after.
Thank you for your kind words about the care your mum received at Ellacombe. Please accept our condolences for your loss.
Ellacombe is by far the best that I visited, from being greeted by Management at my first meeting, (as this very new, responsible task had come to myself) after my first meeting I felt great comfort in placing my dear friend with in the home.
The staff show and treat residents with dignity and with love of the job they do. The rooms, such lovely colours of calm green and duck egg blue, the choice of food on offer, just fantastic.
The communal sitting areas are also decorated in calm green and duck egg blue. The secure gardens are such a bonus feature within the home and kept to a high standard.
After having now been there for a number of weeks, my frail wilted flower of a friend I collected from the hospital that day, has now blossomed into a very healthy looking flower, this is due to the loving care, food and drinks (so no longer dehydrated) and the wonderful staff.
Thank you for your kind words, we're so pleased that your friend is blossoming again!
I look forward to future visits, meeting and getting to know the staff who will look after my father.
Thank you for your review and we look forward to getting to know you and your father better at Ellacombe.
