My mother has gone from a quiet, polite and sweet-natured lady to someone I now don't recognise. Her Alzheimer's issues have gradually, and now totally, changed her personality. I cannot express my sincere thanks enough to all staff at Grenville Court for the understanding and compassionate care not
only to my mother but to myself as well. They always have just that little extra time to ask how I am! Their standard of care is remarkable and I have nothing but praise for them all. They are dealing with a person who is no longer able to make any sense of the world, yet Grenville staff still treat her with dignity and respect. I have no idea how they can do it, I certainly couldn't. Grenville's management also keeps me in the loop of all things concerning my mother, both good and bad. I cannot speak highly enough of Grenville's services. Well done to all. I don't know what I would do without you.

In my opinion, Grenville Court proved to be an excellent choice for my mother. I viewed it prior to her admission and immediately felt a sense of kindness and compassion towards the residents, all of whom appeared to have complex needs. The home is secure, clean and well maintained and there are regular
activities provided which residents are encouraged to get involved in. My mother said the food was plentiful and of an excellent standard. I was made aware if Mum needed anything and if any medical issues arose that needed attention the Doctor or District Nurse was contacted and I was kept informed. In fact, my mum made such good progress in every respect that she was later discharged back into the community. Thank you to everyone at Grenville Court!

I know in my own mind that the care home, Grenville Court, my wife is in is the best I could find for her. She deserves the best, she's a very loyal and kind person and a loving wife, mother and nanny.

My father entered the home and was made very welcome from the start. He was treated with dignity, compassion and even though he had Alzheimer's was always given explanations of what was happening when the staff were helping with his personal care. I received updates from the staff both over the telephone
and when I visited him, and I found everybody open and honest. My father sadly passed away and we were very grateful when we went to see him he looked so peaceful. Words cannot say how much we miss him but the care he received could not have been better.

I have nothing but praise, admiration and thanks for the way in which my father was looked after.
All the carers and management I found to be first rate with nothing being too much trouble. During his stay we were kept fully informed with compassion and thoughtfulness. His care was always personalised,
to illustrate this fact during his final day the chef made pineapple sorbet (as they got to know Dad loved ice cream), I could see in his eyes how much he enjoyed it. When the time came to say our goodbyes all the carers and management took the time to pass on their condolences with dignity and feeling – even in the short time he was with them they got to know him so well. I rarely write reviews however feel compelled to post this one. I do not think we could have asked for any more from the new team and based on my experience would not have wanted Dad to pass away in any other place – he was amongst people that cared.

I am disgusted with the care my mum has received over the last few months. On asking for information several times and not getting a response. Very poor record-keeping when I did receive some information. Nobody knows what they are doing, the care home is full of agency staff. Told different things
from different people. And now Mum has to be moved. I am devastated this has been my mum's home for six years. This care home used to be excellent when run by a previous male manager. But since new management was brought in in March 2020, this care home has unfortunately rapidly declined and I definitely would not recommend to anyone.

Met by a pleasant member of staff provided with PPE.
Staff member supported communication between myself and my nanny.
I understand the importance of PPE, however, I was asked to lift my mask up and down when speaking so I could be heard. Being 2m away maybe a mask isn't required but my concern is
that experts tell us not to keep taking masks on and off. Just a thought I know you have certain guidance.

Our experience in the last six months is that communication is very poor. When we have made legitimate enquiries to the management about the wellbeing of our loved ones and concerns we have had we have been met with hostility and rudeness. I am sure the carers are doing a good job but mental health
has suffered hugely during the coronavirus pandemic and there doesn’t seem to be anything done about it which we find incredibly frustrating particularly as we are only allowed to visit at the front door. Based on the management’s attitude we wouldn’t recommend the home to anyone, which is a shame as it was doing so well under the previous manager.

My wife entered Grenville Court on 30th April 2020. Shown tremendous courtesy from management the moment she entered. I phone every day to check she is ok and whichever member of staff I talk to, they are always friendly and responsive. Now able to visit albeit at a distance, and on the last two visits,
my wife seems to begin to realise who I am. Talking to her on the phone, she had no idea who I was.

This review is to compliment the unbelievable turnaround that has been achieved since the take over by new management at Grenville Court. My mother has been a resident here for 4-years, and two years ago standards had dropped to an appalling level of care coming from all angles, this made me feel very
unsettled and concerned for my mothers welfare. However, since the first days of the takeover, I found communication with the manager and staff immediately refreshing, the structure of the staff was a revelation. Relatives were invited to meetings to be notified of pending changes, which over a period of time, all came to fruition, also to hear our questions about any concerns we may have, this in itself was a breath of fresh air. So many things have been put into practice to enhance the day-to-day running of this home, and this has to reflect on the residents. When I leave the home after a visit, I now feel comfortable and relaxed, and that's a good feeling.

Mum didn't want to go into a home but with much patience on the staffs behalf, she grew very fond of some off them and settled better than we could have hoped. She loved being in the garden and the summer fete and Halloween party had her in high spirits. She thought such a lot of the manager who always
stopped to talk to her. They all did mum proud. We cant thank you all enough.

My very good friend moved into Grenville Court 8 weeks ago, because she was very frightened, confused and she was not feeding herself.
I visit every week, I always find Grenville Court staff very welcoming and friendly, there is always plenty of staff around. The management is always available if there
are any questions.
They have wonderful activities every day if they want to join in with or just watch. I would be happy to recommend to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.

My mother was placed in Grenville as an emergency placement due to her vascular dementia advancing rapidly. This was the first time she had been in a care home so it was difficult for the family as well as for mum. We phoned daily to see how she was doing as we lived 2 hours drive away but was never
made to feel a nuisance and was always kept up to date on how she was settling.
When we managed to visit, we saw she was content and looked after and noticed there was always plenty of staff.
The food is very good as we did have lunch with mum and there is a good choice. We have moved mum nearer us now but if we were closer we would have liked her to of stayed there.

Dad has advanced Vascular Dementia, and although I cared for him for ten years, when his condition deteriorated considerably Grenville Court agreed to look after him. He settled very well and the home manages his deteriorating illness with kindness, attention, compassion and understood his challenging
conditions as they change. The staff are well trained and the family are kept up to date with any issues. The food is also plentiful and very good.

I and my family are very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff and the new manager really give excellent care to Mum and all the residents. Mum has been in the home for two years and I can definitely see a higher standard of care since two years ago. The staff go out of their way to make
our visits easier. Some residents do get bored with no visitors but management is looking at more visits out of the home for residents.

My wife has been in this home for 14 months. It has changed hands 3 times. The latest manager, a young man, is changing everything, decor and furnishings. He has made this home into one big happy family. It is such a pleasure now for family and friends to visit. My wife is blind due to tumours on the
brain. This is not an old people's home, it is a care home with excellent carers.

The home is bright and welcoming and the staff cannot do enough for the people who live there, they’re now a lovely team who work hard every day.
It has changed dramatically over the last 4 months and the new manager is exceptional, he has such commitment to changing the place for the better and you
can see he is working miracles.
I hope that when I need a Care home, that my son chooses Grenville for me!
