My father entered the home and was made very welcome from the start. He was treated with dignity, compassion and even though he had Alzheimer's was always given explanations of what was happening when the staff were helping with his personal care. I received updates from the staff both over the telephone and when I visited him, and I found everybody open and honest. My father sadly passed away and we were very grateful when we went to see him he looked so peaceful. Words cannot say how much we miss him but the care he received could not have been better.
Thank you so much for your kind review of the home and staff team. It was a true privilege to have him with us, his presence has been missed by all at Grenville Court. We wish you and your family all the best for the future.

All the carers and management I found to be first rate with nothing being too much trouble. During his stay we were kept fully informed with compassion and thoughtfulness. His care was always personalised, to illustrate this fact during his final day the chef made pineapple sorbet (as they got to know Dad loved ice cream), I could see in his eyes how much he enjoyed it. When the time came to say our goodbyes all the carers and management took the time to pass on their condolences with dignity and feeling – even in the short time he was with them they got to know him so well. I rarely write reviews however feel compelled to post this one. I do not think we could have asked for any more from the new team and based on my experience would not have wanted Dad to pass away in any other place – he was amongst people that cared.

I am disgusted with the care my mum has received over the last few months. On asking for information several times and not getting a response. Very poor record-keeping when I did receive some information. Nobody knows what they are doing, the care home is full of agency staff. Told different things from different people. And now Mum has to be moved. I am devastated this has been my mum's home for six years. This care home used to be excellent when run by a previous male manager. But since new management was brought in in March 2020, this care home has unfortunately rapidly declined and I definitely would not recommend to anyone.
Staff member supported communication between myself and my nanny.
I understand the importance of PPE, however, I was asked to lift my mask up and down when speaking so I could be heard. Being 2m away maybe a mask isn't required but my concern...

I understand the importance of PPE, however, I was asked to lift my mask up and down when speaking so I could be heard. Being 2m away maybe a mask isn't required but my concern is that experts tell us not to keep taking masks on and off. Just a thought I know you have certain guidance.

Our experience in the last six months is that communication is very poor. When we have made legitimate enquiries to the management about the wellbeing of our loved ones and concerns we have had we have been met with hostility and rudeness. I am sure the carers are doing a good job but mental health has suffered hugely during the coronavirus pandemic and there doesn’t seem to be anything done about it which we find incredibly frustrating particularly as we are only allowed to visit at the front door. Based on the management’s attitude we wouldn’t recommend the home to anyone, which is a shame as it was doing so well under the previous manager.
I visited my mother in the month of June during the lockdown. I found Mum looking very well, clean and happy. The covid19 measures in place, I found my visit reassuring.

My wife entered Grenville Court on 30th April 2020. Shown tremendous courtesy from management the moment she entered. I phone every day to check she is ok and whichever member of staff I talk to, they are always friendly and responsive. Now able to visit albeit at a distance, and on the last two visits, my wife seems to begin to realise who I am. Talking to her on the phone, she had no idea who I was.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate your lovely words and the staff are made aware of your comment.
Very pleased how Mum is being looked after and cared for. Excellent service all round. Staff are brilliant. Thank you.

Tanya, thank you for your appreciation. I have informed the staff about your feedback and they are all happy to know you recognise their hard work.
This review is to compliment the unbelievable turnaround that has been achieved since the take over by new management at Grenville Court. My mother has been a resident here for 4-years, and two years ago standards had dropped to an appalling level of care coming from all angles, this made me feel...
Many thanks to all concerned.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. You really gave me the confidence that I am doing a good job. I know that at present we are going through a difficult time and the home is locked down for visitors but I can assure you that all our residents and staff are safe as well. Please call us any time you wish for updates about your mother.
Regards,Cristina.

She loved being in the garden and the summer fete and Halloween party had her in high spirits. She thought such a lot of the manager who always stopped to talk to her. They all did mum proud. We cant thank you all enough.

They have wonderful activities every day if they want to join in with or just watch. I would be happy to recommend to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.
My mother was placed in Grenville as an emergency placement due to her vascular dementia advancing rapidly. This was the first time she had been in a care home so it was difficult for the family as well as for mum. We phoned daily to see how she was doing as we lived 2 hours drive away but was...
When we managed to visit, we saw she was content and looked after and noticed there was always plenty of staff.
The food is very good as we did have lunch with mum and there is a good choice. We have moved mum nearer us now but if we were closer we would have liked her to of stayed there.
Thank you.

I and my family are very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff and the new manager really give excellent care to Mum and all the residents. Mum has been in the home for two years and I can definitely see a higher standard of care since two years ago. The staff go out of their way to make our visits easier. Some residents do get bored with no visitors but management is looking at more visits out of the home for residents.

Dad has advanced Vascular Dementia, and although I cared for him for ten years, when his condition deteriorated considerably Grenville Court agreed to look after him. He settled very well and the home manages his deteriorating illness with kindness, attention, compassion and understood his challenging conditions as they change. The staff are well trained and the family are kept up to date with any issues. The food is also plentiful and very good.
My cousin is very well cared for. He is bed-bound and the staff are very caring and friendly. All his needs are covered. I cannot fault the staff's patience, care and understanding. His care could not, in my opinion, be bettered.

He has made this home into one big happy family. It is such a pleasure now for family and friends to visit. My wife is blind due to tumours on the brain. This is not an old people's home, it is a care home with excellent carers.

I hope that when I need a Care home, that my son chooses Grenville for me!
Thank you for your feedback - it is very welcome and we are delighted you’re happy with the direction the home is going in. All the best, the team at Grenville Court.
Very lacking in personal hygiene service for my mother, soiled bedding on numerous occasions, no improvements following my concerns, have now moved her out as a result.
