Mum didn't want to go into a home but with much patience on the staffs behalf, she grew very fond of some off them and settled better than we could have hoped. She loved being in the garden and the summer fete and Halloween party had her in high spirits. She thought such a lot of the manager who always
stopped to talk to her. They all did mum proud. We cant thank you all enough.

My very good friend moved into Grenville Court 8 weeks ago, because she was very frightened, confused and she was not feeding herself.
I visit every week, I always find Grenville Court staff very welcoming and friendly, there is always plenty of staff around. The management is always available if there
are any questions.
They have wonderful activities every day if they want to join in with or just watch. I would be happy to recommend to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.

My mother was placed in Grenville as an emergency placement due to her vascular dementia advancing rapidly. This was the first time she had been in a care home so it was difficult for the family as well as for mum. We phoned daily to see how she was doing as we lived 2 hours drive away but was never
made to feel a nuisance and was always kept up to date on how she was settling.
When we managed to visit, we saw she was content and looked after and noticed there was always plenty of staff.
The food is very good as we did have lunch with mum and there is a good choice. We have moved mum nearer us now but if we were closer we would have liked her to of stayed there.
Thank you.

Dad has advanced Vascular Dementia, and although I cared for him for ten years, when his condition deteriorated considerably Grenville Court agreed to look after him. He settled very well and the home manages his deteriorating illness with kindness, attention, compassion and understood his challenging
conditions as they change. The staff are well trained and the family are kept up to date with any issues. The food is also plentiful and very good.

I and my family are very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff and the new manager really give excellent care to Mum and all the residents. Mum has been in the home for two years and I can definitely see a higher standard of care since two years ago. The staff go out of their way to make
our visits easier. Some residents do get bored with no visitors but management is looking at more visits out of the home for residents.

My cousin is very well cared for. He is bed-bound and the staff are very caring and friendly. All his needs are covered. I cannot fault the staff's patience, care and understanding. His care could not, in my opinion, be bettered.

My wife has been in this home for 14 months. It has changed hands 3 times. The latest manager, a young man, is changing everything, decor and furnishings. He has made this home into one big happy family. It is such a pleasure now for family and friends to visit. My wife is blind due to tumours on the
brain. This is not an old people's home, it is a care home with excellent carers.

The home is bright and welcoming and the staff cannot do enough for the people who live there, they’re now a lovely team who work hard every day.
It has changed dramatically over the last 4 months and the new manager is exceptional, he has such commitment to changing the place for the better and you
can see he is working miracles.
I hope that when I need a Care home, that my son chooses Grenville for me!
Reply from Gerard Dooley, Registered Manager at Grenville CourtThank you for your feedback - it is very welcome and we are delighted you’re happy with the direction the home is going in. All the best, the team at Grenville Court.

Very lacking in personal hygiene service for my mother, soiled bedding on numerous occasions, no improvements following my concerns, have now moved her out as a result.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.743)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.743) out of 10 for Grenville Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.768 for Grenville Court is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.768
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grenville Court is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
