During COVID, everyone did their utmost to keep communication open, keep us up to date with Mum's health and emotional needs. They were firm but fair about COVID restrictions and to adjust to 'normal'.
Thank you Garrie for your lovely review of our home and the staff, I will pass your comments on to the staff.
My aunt is beru happy at Maynell House. The best thing, she says, is the people. She says they can't do enough for her. She enjoys trips out and the garden. The staff have been patient and thoughtful. Thank you!
Thank you for the lovely review, we are so pleased your aunt is happy and settled with us.
A privilege to see genuine care in action. Every single member of the team has been kind, caring, cheerful, helpful, informative, responsive and respectful. I cannot thank or praise them enough. Outstanding care that gives us hope for the future. Well done to all the team, we are so pleased to have found you!
Thank you so much for your lovely review, as the manager, I feel incredibly proud when my team receives such lovely comments.
We are very happy with the care and attention given to the resident, particularly in these difficult COVID pandemic times when the staff have been most helpful and considerate at all times.
Thank you for your kind words and lovely review. The staff take pride in delivering a high standard of care.
During this past year, especially with Covid restrictions, the staff have kept me informed about Mum and her health and enabled me to visit her in accordance with Government/local authority guiding. I acknowledge how difficult this has been and throughout the staff have been excellent, always chatty, friendly, smiling etc even though they have themselves been at risk.
Thank you for your kind and positive comments, the staff and management thank you for your support.
Mum entered Maynell during lockdown and sadly became very ill. The staff were very caring and supportive to Mum. Always friendly and helpful when I visited. Maynell has a good range of activities for the residents and the garden is just beautiful. We were welcomed into the home to visit Mum in her last days. Her charming room was clean and tidy. The staff were very hard-working, kind, and compassionate. We are all very grateful to the fabulous staff at Maynell for looking after our Mum.
Thank you for your lovely review, I have passed this onto the staff
My mum was very unwell and the compassion all the staff had was excellent. The care is outstanding and I know I can call on any of the wonderful staff for help and advice, at any time. The care and welfare of the residents is always first on the staffs' list of priorities. My mum has been here a long time and I would not want her to be anywhere else. All the staff have become friends, not just carers.
My mum is in this care home and is very happy there. She is very well taken care of which is very reassuring for my sister and I. Peace of mind is a great thing and we have that with Mum there. When we arrive at the home to see Mum, the staff are always very happy and helpful. I would recommend this happy care home.
Look after me very well.
Always appears to be a happy place.
I am very happy here, all staff are helpful.
It would be good practise for whoever is entering her room to say their name but overall, the care from the staff is good.
Wonderful and caring environment. Staff are friendly and supportive. My sister is a resident and is treated with dignity. They take time to speak with her and get to know her. She enjoys the activities. She feels safe and secure in the home. The room is clean and comfortable, definite value for money.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will pass this to all the team at Maynell House.
Excellent and very caring, doing just everything very well. The support my nan gets is exceptional. Great staff.
Thank you for your lovely review, I will pass this to the team at Maynell.
My gran has settled in well and been well looked after - staff are very attentive and caring. I would recommend Maynell to friends or family.
Thank you for your lovely review, I will pass this to my team.
Every time I visit my Grandmother I feel that she is being cared for very well in a safe and secure environment.
When my father has hospital appointments and NHS transport is unavailable the care home ensures other transport as he is wheelchair bound and has very poor eyesight. Invites to events eg., summer fete, Christmas part etc. Nice gardens outside space. Residents have trips out in the minibus, sometimes go out for a meal. Very happy with the care and support and always made welcome.
The staff are all very helpful and caring.
Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion on Maynell House. Our care staff will be delighted to learn about your high praise towards the care provided. We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality standards for all of our residents. However, we are extremely sorry that you have faced...
My mother has been a resident at Maynell for 17 months in which time she has enjoyed the beautiful grounds. The varied activities and entertainment Mum is always treated as an individual with her own likes and dislikes. The carers are very caring and are very good. When family visit they are surprised to find Mum in such homely surroundings that do not smell as so many care homes do.
The staff are always very friendly and he is cared for well.
An area of weakness has been the frequency of baths - apparently meant to be once a week, but have not been happening that frequently.
At Maynell House we offer a choice of a bath or shower on daily basis and we understand that residents have the right to refuse baths or showers on some occasions. We keep documented daily progress notes, so in case of any issues or concerns, we are happy to advise on that matter. Please do not hesitate to arrange a meeting with me to discuss, many thanks.

Meet the Team (2)

I’m proud to lead a team that creates a warm, safe and welcoming home. Our staff are local, we work closely together and always go the extra mile for our residents. I’m passionate about supporting people to live their best lives — listening to their individual needs and giving them choice in what they do and how they live each day. I’ve worked in care for many years, hold my Level 5 in Adult Residential Care and Registered Manager’s Award, and I’m currently studying towards my Level 7.

“I decided to work at Healthcare Homes as I had been working in domiciliary care locally and wished to continue in care, without the travelling. I applied for a care assistant role at Maynell House and due to my previous experience in admin, I’d been offered the admin post at both Foxgrove and Maynell! My favourite part of working in a residential home is working with so many different people, residents, family members, staff, and healthcare professionals. Every day is different and that’s my favourite part.”
