My mother-in-law is being well cared for. The staff are very friendly and usually efficient (sometimes they seem stretched to get everything done). She is happy with the food generally. Her medical needs are usually dealt with in a timely manner. Security is very good - Fort Knox would be easier!

Mum came to Spring Lodge about three weeks ago after living in her own flat. She's enjoying living here, having more company and the food she says is top class. It's been a complete change for her but the staff have been so helpful and she has settled in very well. It has been a worry for us all as it must be strange for her at her age.

Reply from Sinead Lambert, Home Manager at Spring Lodge Nursing Home

Thank you for your feedback, it's great to see that Mum settled in well and is enjoying the company. I will pass the compliments to the Chef.

I'm very grateful for every single member of staff who has cared for my nan over the last few years. I can't put into words how thankful myself and my family are for your hard work and dedication. Nanny was a very elegant and graceful lady who loved her dancing! The staff were always looking for ways to keep her engaged with music and ballet and talking to her about her interests. It was clear that Nanny was well-loved within the home. I am particularly impressed with the standard of end-of-life care provided to my nan. In her final days, the staff were always on hand to answer any questions and were so kind and gentle with her. Thank you to every member of staff at Spring Lodge. Each one of you has made my nanny's final few years much more comfortable. I will appreciate you all forever.

Following hospitalisation for kidney problems, staff at Spring Lodge agreed to my request that he be returned there as he had been so well cared for previously. Though not a nursing home, they accepted responsibility for his comfort and quality of life during his anticipated three-month period of palliative care. The hospital staff arranged for appropriate medication to be accessible quickly as needed. He died peacefully some thirteen weeks later.

I have visited my friend who has lived in Spring Lodge for a couple of years now since he moved in. I have always found the home to be very clean and tidy. The home is very good at providing things to do for the residents. The staff are always friendly and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Spring Lodge.

My wife has been with you for three years now. In that time, she has been well looked after. When I visit, she is always clean and tidy, as is the home. The staff are very good and, whilst she doesn't know me, she responds well to the staff, who always have time for her. I am kept informed of any changes to her medication, no matter how small. The activities are also good. The food and the menu are excellent. Keep up the good work.

My wife was installed on the 16th November 2020 and I have been visiting her every other day since that time (over four hundred visits). During the earlier times the management was changed several times and, although the staff were very kind to her, there was a sense of lack of leadership. This situation has changed for the better and since the new manager has taken over I have observed a great improvement in all areas and I do feel my wife is very well looked after by a well-led and dedicated team.

Mam has been here for three years and has settled in very well. The staff are extremely caring, and the manager is very hands-on. All the rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Our step-dad passed away at Christmas, the home called us all as soon as the doctor has been, we were helped no end, nothing was too much trouble, and all was done to support us. The chef is brilliant too, and there are plenty of activities and friendly staff.

September 17th 2017 my mum arrived at Spring Lodge, and within 30 minutes she said to me you can go now dear (a relief). Over the next four years, she had the best service and support, as did I. First manager was first class, and the others up to one particular manager was rubbish. Now things changed, the whole place feels happier and smells better too. Staff brilliant. I called Mum every night, staff always helpful and understanding. Nothing was ever too much. I thank all your staff, they have been great.

Spring Lodge is an amazing care home. On Saturday, they had a wonderful dog show for the residents, which my mother-in-law loved. Today she is out on a boat trip too. Everyone there is very kind, and the new manager is fantastic - friendly, approachable and visible! We can't say anything but good things about Spring Lodge. The care my mother-in-law has received has been excellent. She has a better social life than us!

Since my mum has been here, she is very well in herself and is eating well. The carers I've spoken to are very nice. Mums go two favourites. Mum says she doesn't like it here, but that's part of her dementia, I guess.

Mother was hospitalised after a fall at her home and was not fit to manage herself. She has been cared for at Spring Lodge for 22-months, a period dominated by Covid. We were impressed at the safety procedures through this difficult period and excellent "Zoom" meetings when visits were proscribed. We have encountered genuine care and support for Mum throughout and rapid medical response when appropriate.
