Wings philosophy is “positive support for people who matter.” The service is a spacious and comfortable residential service that supports six adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. The service focuses on supporting individuals to develop independent skills within a safe and understanding environment.
Wings is a bungalow with six en-suite bedrooms. There is a large lounge with views across the garden and neighbouring fields. The kitchen is a multi-level area to enable wheelchair access.
Support is provided by staff who pride themselves in putting individuals at the centre of their support by using a positive and caring approach. The staff utilise tools such as the Recovery Star. The Recovery Star Model is a tool used to support individuals to maximise their independence. The Recovery Star focuses on 10 major life areas such as managing their mental health, physical health and self-care, identity and self-esteem.
