Stratton House

I find Stratton House a friendly and welcoming place to visit. Residents are treated with patience and attention to their individual needs and preferences. There is a general atmosphere of calm, even though staff are busy. Also a good sense of team-working by staff. For residents there is a detailed programme of varied activities and frequent consultation on what they would like. The gardens are large and beautiful, and residents are encouraged to spend time outdoors and to participate in group events. Family members and friends are made welcome and encouraged to join in with activities and be part of the Stratton family

Easy parking. Warm, genuine and enthusiastic welcome. Each staff member smiled said hello and took an interest in my journey and day. I am very happy my family member is happy and cared for.

Since mum arrived at Stratton House in autumn 2025, all the staff have been amazing in their care and in making her feel at home and treated as an individual from day one. They have found ways to adapt to her care needs, and have created a happy and supportive environment. The other residents too have been supportive and welcoming, which makes a big difference. Medications are dealt with consistently and well, and the staff have a very good rapport with the local GP practice, which all gives a feeling of security. Having a weekly service with the chaplain has been important for mum too. Communications are good, and staff are very open to talking issues through and they proactively make adjustments where necessary. As a family we have felt extremely well supported and cared for, and couldn't have asked for more.

The whole process of making transition from living independently at home to moving into Stratton House has been absolutely resident focused. I have been so impressed by the positive can do responsive approach to someone's well being and wishes shown by the whole team. Every effort has been made to make the home on offer fit my friend not requiring my friend to fit into an institution. I am very grateful

I have nothing but praise for the manager and all the staff at SH who always go the extra mile to give residents the best quality of life possible, kind, courteous and their attention to detail is superb. Communication is great, level of care cannot be beaten S in the care of my mother over the last nine years. Thank you.

As a regular volunteer at Stratton House it is always a pleasure to go in and lead an activity. The residents all seem very happy when I pop my head into the lounge to say hello before going elsewhere to set up. The staff are always helpful and seem very knowledgeable about the needs of the individual residents, dealing with them with kindness and understanding. The residents known to enjoy my type of activity, as well as new residents, are encouraged, though not forced, to join in my activity which also makes my efforts worthwhile. I am certainly made to feel part of the Stratton House family.

We are delighted with the care at Stratton House - without exception the staff are wonderful - my mother has settled well and feels at home. The staff all appear happy in their work and are consistently polite, kind and respectful to residents and visitors .

Mum continues to thrive in Stratton House where she is happy with the help, care and assistance she receives from all the staff at all times. She enjoys the activities she takes part in regularly and also the time she spends reading peacefully in her room. I would like to thank you all for making her so content and comfortable in your fabulous home!

Since our mother moved to Stratton House last year her health and happiness have improved considerably whilst also lightening the load on her children. She is very happy and well looked after, couldn't wish for better. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I know she enjoys the food - thank you. That has always been important.

The staff at Stratton House are an outstanding team who all fulfil their roles whole-heartedly and contribute to making it the welcoming, happy and nurturing care home that it is. Mum benefits enormously from the exceptional care and kindness that she always receives. She feels very safe and greatly appreciates the gentle and compassionate way in which she is given every assistance. I am really impressed with every aspect of the management and care at Stratton House, and value the warm and friendly way they include me as part of its community.

Mum is now over 100 years old. She recently had a stroke and the Home welcomed her back after a short stay in hospital and and moved her into a more appropriate room to enable the staff to better care for her.

I could not believe such a level of care was available. It has transformed my last years nothing it too much trouble. Care and attention is given to all they do.

From the moment I first walked into Stratton House I felt it was a warm, vibrant environment that was exactly what my uncle was looking for. 18 months since he moved in he is still very happy and the help and support he receives from the team is excellent and very much tailored to his needs. I just want to say a huge thankyou to the whole team at Stratton House for their care and support for my uncle.

Stratton House offers everything that I had hoped for for Dad and more. The outstanding feature is superb, loving and attentive staff who are, and have been, a comfort for him and for me/us as his family. We are always welcomed. Dad has been very unwell sometimes and the medical support which has been provided, in tandem with the hospital team, has meant that he was able to remain in the home, as opposed to being admitted. His ongoing need for medication and district nurse help is overseen by the senior carers who ensure that Dad is as comfortable as is possible. After ten years of dementia-affected life Mum passed away in her dementia care home last month. Dad was supported by the concern and practical help from the staff and on occasion was taken by them to Mum, when there was urgent need for him to get to her, and whilst I travelled to Bath. On the day of Mum's funeral many care and admin staff came to wish Dad, and us, well which was such a boost for our spirits.

If it hadn't been for Stratton House's staff, managers and pastoral care I wouldn't be in the position I am in now- much more mobile and look forward to waking up every day. This is a family with lots of love and care.

Stratton House provide great care for my Mum and I have been very pleased with everything they do. Mum can sometimes not be the easiest of people to look after and the staffs focus on providing great care and showing great patience shines through

Stratton House has been everything I hoped it would be when my father took up residence. I viewed six different homes prior to this. My first overall impression was of a well integrated and cohesive care team with a well established manager and a responsive approach to its residents. I have not been disappointed. There is a lively community of caregivers who are always willing to listen and provide the care and support needed by the residents. I have also been surprised at the way I have been made to feel part of that community being offered cups of tea and a friendly smile or chat. Dad has thrived since he joined and has been very happy. The activities that he has taken part in have been wonderful. From ice skating in December, in a wheelchair, to cake making, arts and crafts, musical performances, therapy dogs and a trip to the pub this June. Stratton House has supported him to really enjoy his later life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home.

My mother-in-law has been a resident in this home for a few years now. I can honestly say I believe she receives the best care possible. The home always smells clean. The staff are very good and take care of her needs. The food is really good and she praises the laundry service. A very important factor for her. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.
