I am pleased to have decided to come to this home for the rest of my life. At the age of 94, no longer could I cope at home. The staff are patient, kind and cheerful. The activities are interesting and variable and the atmosphere is uplifting.
Thank you for your review. I’m pleased to read that you have chosen Stratton House to live your remaining life; it’s good to read that the staff are patient, kind and cheerful and the home is uplifting. I will ensure that your comments are shared with the staff where positive feedback is always appreciated.
Overall, I am happy with the quality and service at Stratton House. However, I find that there is a lack of consistency in areas such as food, care and support and management. Unfortunately, it is often the shortcomings that are remembered rather than the more positive experiences. That said, on balance, the home is good in almost all respects.
Thank you for your recent review on Stratton House. It’s good to read that you are happy with the quality and service and that overall the home is good. I will be asking the Manager to contact you to discuss the lack of consistencies and support.
The home is always spotless and the staff can't do enough for you.
Thank you for taking the time to send in your positive comments. It was so pleasing to see that you are able to rate so many aspects of the service at Stratton House as excellent and that as a resident you would be likely to recommend this home to others.
We feel very lucky to finally find a care home who really care. Great care and attention to details such as welcome flowers, celebrating different nationalities, music, involvement with the outside world and bringing this into the lives of resident no longer able to mobilise. The activity organiser is an enormous asset to this home. Everything is thoughtfully considered. Food is sometimes hit and miss, depending on the chef on duty. Day staff are all 100% lovely - but agency staff at night time are sometimes disappointing and not enough "care" is offered on early waking.
Mum has now resided in Stratton House for more than two years and is both happy and comfortable in her surroundings. She is and always has been an easy going person who gets on well with others and she is popular with both fellow residents and staff alike. She has had a number of health issues in recent months and the staff have been admirable and unwavering in their attentiveness, subsequently, we would have no hesitation in recommending Stratton House to others.
Thank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback. We were delighted to know that you feel assured that the care and support your Mother is receiving is admirable and you feel confident to recommend our service.
Food is good and rooms comfortable.
Pleasant gardens.
Very secure, doors to entrance locked at all times.
It was delightful to see your positive comments regarding the care and service you are receiving at Stratton House. We know how important it is to feel safe in what is now your home so we are pleased to see that you feel secure in our care.
My mother is very happy with all aspects of her stay here. The room is good and comfortable. The staff are excellent and the choice of meals suits her very well. Overall I feel she is well looked after and she seems to be fitting in very well with all the other residents.
Thank you for taking the time to send in your positive feedback regarding the experience of your Mother at Stratton House. We were very pleased to see that you would recommend the home.
I have been impressed by the staff at this care home. There is a pleasant friendly atmosphere which has helped my mother to settle in and be happy since her arrival in mid-October. I and my family are grateful to all concerned for making her feel at ease.
Thank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback regarding our service at Stratton House. It was so pleasing to see that you and your Mother have found her first few months at the Home so positive.
Mum has been in the home for 2 nights so unable to assess home. Staff were extremely helpful in arranging for mums assessment and respite care. Very grateful.
Thank for your kind comments. It is so pleasing to see that your initial experience in the brief time your Mother has been at the home has been a positive one.
Mum has been in this home for 10 years. I visit each week and I cannot speak too highly of the care and love shown to mum. I recommend this home very highly.
Thank you for your kind and positive comments. It is so pleasing to know that for someone who has been in Stratton House for for such a long time, and been a part of the home life, that the staff team have continued to provide such a good service. We will ensure that the team are made aware of your feedback.

Meet the Team (4)

I began my journey at Stratton House in 2017 as a Night Care Assistant and took the opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge by completing both the NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and Apprenticeship Level 3 Health and Social Care Adult Lead. I was then promoted to Senior Care Assistant for two years before taking the role of Deputy Manager in 2022 and Home Manager (interim) in 2026.
It really is an honour to be part of the Stratton House Team. Our values of Nurture, Respect and Inspire are demonstrated on a daily basis by our amazing team.

Before joining MHA, I worked as an Assistant Wellbeing Co-ordinator for 8 months at another care home for people with dementia and nursing needs.
I went to The European School in Brussels and had a Baccalaureate (similar to A levels), and afterwards, I did a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Media Studies with Languages from the University of East Anglia. My background is in organising events and tours around the world.
I enjoy interacting with the residents at Stratton House the most, and I feel the team at Stratton House is supportive and works well together as a team.

I joined Stratton House in 2017 as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant and previously worked in other care homes for six years.
I love working at Stratton House because of the incredible team I get to work with and the wonderful appreciating residents we look after. Being part of a brilliant team is what makes my work so fulfilling and rewarding.

Working at our care home is truly rewarding. The building is a beautiful, listed landmark with stunning grounds that I have the pleasure of looking after as the maintenance person. I love that I can bring my own vision to the garden and handle repairs within, making decisions independently and taking pride in the result.
Being part of Stratton House's history since 2016, and serving the community charitably, makes my role even more meaningful.
