Stratton House

I am pleased to have decided to come to this home for the rest of my life. At the age of 94, no longer could I cope at home. The staff are patient, kind and cheerful. The activities are interesting and variable and the atmosphere is uplifting.

Overall, I am happy with the quality and service at Stratton House. However, I find that there is a lack of consistency in areas such as food, care and support and management. Unfortunately, it is often the shortcomings that are remembered rather than the more positive experiences. That said, on balance, the home is good in almost all respects.

The home is always spotless and the staff can't do enough for you.

We feel very lucky to finally find a care home who really care. Great care and attention to details such as welcome flowers, celebrating different nationalities, music, involvement with the outside world and bringing this into the lives of resident no longer able to mobilise. The activity organiser is an enormous asset to this home. Everything is thoughtfully considered. Food is sometimes hit and miss, depending on the chef on duty. Day staff are all 100% lovely - but agency staff at night time are sometimes disappointing and not enough "care" is offered on early waking.

Mum has now resided in Stratton House for more than two years and is both happy and comfortable in her surroundings. She is and always has been an easy going person who gets on well with others and she is popular with both fellow residents and staff alike. She has had a number of health issues in recent months and the staff have been admirable and unwavering in their attentiveness, subsequently, we would have no hesitation in recommending Stratton House to others.

My mother is very happy with all aspects of her stay here. The room is good and comfortable. The staff are excellent and the choice of meals suits her very well. Overall I feel she is well looked after and she seems to be fitting in very well with all the other residents.

I have been impressed by the staff at this care home. There is a pleasant friendly atmosphere which has helped my mother to settle in and be happy since her arrival in mid-October. I and my family are grateful to all concerned for making her feel at ease.

Mum has been in the home for 2 nights so unable to assess home. Staff were extremely helpful in arranging for mums assessment and respite care. Very grateful.

Mum has been in this home for 10 years. I visit each week and I cannot speak too highly of the care and love shown to mum. I recommend this home very highly.
