Looked at four other care homes before selecting Stokeleigh for my wife. The manager and staff go out of their way to be friendly, helpful and cooperative. Visiting is anytime without the need for an appointment. On every visit, you are welcomed by a member of staff who will guide you to your loved one. Stokeleigh is very homely, bright and cheery. All the staff are very caring, which fills you with confidence, and the residents are a top priority at all times. Absolutely brilliant.

I find the care given to my mother excellent. The staff are always helpful and polite. I cannot mark value for money as I have nothing to compare this with.

I have been incredibly impressed with the level of care my mum receives at Stokeleigh. The staff in every area, including maintenance and catering, are compassionate and caring. They are cheerful and friendly and treat all the residents with dignity and respect. I trust the management and senior carers with my mother's care, and they are always on hand to answer my questions. On every visit, I get a friendly update on what my mum has been up to. It feels like we have found a home-from-home for my mum, and can't thank the carers enough for everything they do for her.

It is great to know that although I live over 100 miles away from the home, and am not able to visit as often as I would like, I know my aunt is in the most capable hands and looked after with care and dignity. I can't express how much I have appreciated their care over the last three years. Thank you one and all.

Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Marketing Manager (Brand) at Stokeleigh

We really appreciate your kind review, and we are so pleased you are happy with the level of care your aunt is receiving. It's lovely to know that we provide you with the peace of mind and reassurance you need that your aunt is safe and well when you are not able to visit as often as you would like.

Gran moved to the home earlier in the year from another home. Whilst, as a family, we were happy with the previous home, I think we all agree that Gran seems so much happier and engaged at Stokeleigh. The home itself is a lovely building, with lovely colours and lots of light. There are lots of activities and comings and goings. We love watching the Facebook page for updates on what everyone has been up to! The garden has been a lovely space to spend time in during the summer when we haven't had time to take Gran out. The staff are wonderful - we love how they are with Gran and the rest of the residents and how helpful they are when we are looking to take her out. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Marketing manager (Brand) at Stokeleigh

Thank you for your kind words about the care your Gran is receiving at Stokeleigh. It's lovely to hear she is enjoying all the activities and you are able to keep up-to-date with what she has been up to via our social media page. We will pass on your comments to the rest of the team, who will be delighted by your feedback.

It's a quiet, peaceful location with a lovely garden. The manager and all staff are friendly, helpful and professional and create a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. The house is also very clean and comfortable. I feel very lucky to have found this home for my dad, and I'm confident he is being well cared for.

Gran has only been in for a short time, but she settled in exceptionally quickly, which I think is a credit to all the staff. Every visit that we have made, all staff are so welcoming and friendly, to the point of offering lunch at mealtimes! The use of colour around the home is good, and the garden is wonderful, especially the different areas, sitting fruit, veg and flowers.

My mother has settled so quickly into Stokeleigh, and that has been because the staff are so friendly and caring. Her room is warm and comfortable, and she has her pictures and some of her furniture in there to make it her own. Mum has been on a minibus trip into town and enjoyed a small glass of Irish stout on St Patricks Day. Mum loves singing and having fun and still had a cheeky sense of humour, which the care staff all reciprocate to her delight!

My father sadly passed away at Stokeleigh from old age and dementia, but he was very well looked after and cared for by the team. They worked tirelessly over the pandemic and made sure my dad was safe and happy. When restrictions allowed, he enjoyed lovely activities and outings. The staff were always upbeat and supportive and worked closely with me on all aspects of my dad's care. Nothing ever seemed too much, and whenever we had any questions, they always had time to talk things through and be there for us. Thank you, Stokeleigh.

My first impression of the home was how "homely" it is and genuine/friendly the staff are. The manager is very helpful, caring and this seems to set the high standard for all. It feels like a home, not an institution. Mum has dementia, so doesn't remember what she gets up to daily, but as the carers post on their Facebook page with photos, I can see Mum joining in activities - such a reassuring feeling.

It is never going to be easy moving your husband to a care home, but the past weeks have been made so much easier and enjoyable by the staff at Stokeleigh. From the start, he was made to feel special, and every effort has been made to reassure, welcome me, and communicate with me. My mother has been in Stokeleigh for two years and has been looked after well with compassion and care. The staff are all very good. Her dementia has gradually decreased her mobility, and she is not totally reliant on the care staff, who are excellent and caring as she has deteriorated.

Stokeleigh management has been amazing in helping with Mums return from hospital after a fall. They helped assist us in getting extra care to support Mum in the isolation period on return. Even on the day of the fall, the staff stayed with Mum for four hours whilst waiting for the ambulance. So pleased she's back in her safe, happy place. Also, I'm happy she's being cared for and looked after just how we would look after our own Mum. One gentleman has been great sorting staff and care, even coming in on their day off to assist the smooth transition back to Stokeleigh.
