The care and support the staff give to the residents is superb. I feel confident that my nan is safe and secure as well as happy and loved. The staff are always available to talk and communicate brilliantly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home! Thank you.

The staff at Stokeleigh continue to provide a very caring, informal and friendly atmosphere for both the residents and their families. You have a real sense of “home” as soon as you enter the building. This is due to the leadership style of the manager, who ensures that this is the residents' home.
All staff, no matter what their role, spend time with the residents, some going beyond their role, which is very much appreciated by the families. Kindness is in abundance from many of the staff. Mother in law often shares brunch with a member of staff which she enjoys. Activities take place each day, which are varied, fun and creative. The activities coordinator takes time to find out individuals likes and enjoyments from their past and strives to place these into the activities. I am very grateful for the care, sensitivity, encouragement and fun times that are given to my mother in law. All relatives are made to feel very welcome and are also well supported.
Reply from Alison Reijman, PR Coordinator at StokeleighThank you so much for your fantastic words about Stokeleigh. We view everybody - residents, their relatives and friends, and our staff as all part of the Hartford family, and we are so glad that you appreciate how much Stokeleigh is "home" for everybody there. We will pass on your lovely comments to our super Stokeleigh team.

Warm and friendly home from home for my mother. Enough space and rooms for Mum to move to for quieter times or if she wants company and to join in with the activities. The staff are friendly and helpful and willing to answer questions and chat about what has been going on. Lots of lovely activities
during the Christmas period for all to join in, parties, music, cheese and wine and a lovely Christmas lunch. The lovely chefs cook fresh meals daily and happy for us to visit the kitchen and chat about what's on the menu each day and accommodate dietary requirements and preferences.
Thank you to all the team at Stokeleigh!

With limited experience of care homes (two in detail), I've found Mum's residence excellent in all respects, with no concerns presented at all over two and a half years of residency. All staff consistently carry out their duties with respect, care and professionalism, often going beyond requirements.
They treat all residents as members of the family and the care home is a "home" in all respects.
Reply from Alison Reijman, PR Coordinator at StokeleighJohn, thank you so much for your wonderful review. Being a family-owned business, it is so important to us that all our residents, relatives and our staff feel part of the Hartford Care family and we are so glad that you are totally satisfied with the way your Mum is being cared for. I am disabled but I try to visit my wife twice a week and am pleased to see how she is looked after. I have put 'good' for 'value for money' because I have no knowledge of any other care home. Thank you for what you are doing for her.

Stokeleigh provides excellent care all round, always kept busy with different activities, and nice to see all the residents mingling. A great warm friendly caring atmosphere always. Staff are always welcoming. Food is fantastic and it's always nice to enjoy lunch with my nan. Lovely to see a smile on
my nan's face and to know she's cared for with very high standards.

Stokeleigh Care Home is a lovely house with beautiful a garden, but what makes it special is the warm, friendly caring atmosphere.
At the heart of Stokeleigh is a strong core of dedicated carers who create a happy family into which new residents are welcomed. A variety of activities, outings and garden
parties are frequently arranged.
My mother was a resident at Stokeleigh for nearly 2 years, during which time she was treated with dignity, kindness and thoughtfulness, cups of tea and meals needed.
As relatives, we were drawn into the happy Stokeleigh family. In her final days, my mother was treated with the utmost gentleness and care and we were given amazing consideration and support.

Stokeleigh provided excellent care throughout my grandmother's stay.
There are always fun activities going on and those who are able, are frequently taken out. There is never a dull moment here - dancing, singing, art and craft, cooking and gardening are all encouraged.
To have a relative at Stokeleigh
is to become part of the Stokeleigh family. They look after everyone so well, on the sad days, we would be cheered up by staff, given food and made cups of tea. Nothing was ever too much trouble - the team was fantastic and it was a great day the day we found Stokeleigh. Dignity, fun and kindness in Stokeleigh.

I was extremely impressed with the level of care at Stokeleigh. The staff are patient, kind and friendly to both residents and visitors. I felt safe in the knowledge that my beloved nan was being brilliantly looked after in her final days. They dealt with her dementia symptoms and mobility issues effectively
whilst allowing her to maintain her dignity and as much independence as possible.

My father is very happy at Stokeleigh and feels that he is looked after extremely well. He enjoys the food and the activities, including trips out on the minibus. The lounge areas are very comfortable and welcoming and my father is happy to spend time in a social environment. His own room is a good
size and is always clean and tidy.

Since moving into Stokeleigh in 09/17 my uncle tells us that he feels happier, safer than he has in many years.

The carers are lovely and treat him with care and respect and have managed to bring out a playful/social side that our family have not seen in a long time.

He is extremely happy here

and has no wish to leave.

The carers at Stokeleigh are very kind to my mum and I cannot thank them enough for all they do and all their hard work.

The home has recently had the use of a minibus and it would be very beneficial to the home to have this available permanently or at least for a few months each year.

My mother is well looked after and has settled as well as can be expected. Mother enjoys being taken out in the mini-bus and spending time in the garden. The chef has tried hard to tempt her to eat with a varied menu - sadly she has a small appetite but is encouraged to eat by the staff.

On our visit from Canada, we visited and took mum out daily for trips.
Staff were always pleasant and co-operative and had her ready by requested times.
All this was our first impression but we were only involved for one week and what we saw and heard satisfied is. Mum is still in the process of settling
in and with this standard of care, we hope she will settle.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.455)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.455) out of 10 for Stokeleigh is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.630 for Stokeleigh is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (49 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.63
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stokeleigh is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
