Stokeleigh

All this was our first impression but we were only involved for one week and what we saw and heard satisfied is. Mum is still in the process of settling in and with this standard of care, we hope she will settle.

I think it is a welcoming care home. My friend seems as content as can be there. The staff are thoughtful and patient.

Friendly, clean, caring staff. Activities very good. My husband is very settled there. Easy for us to get to.

My mother has been at Stokeleigh for a few years now. The staff are amazing I feel assured that she is looked after very well. Very friendly with lots of fun activities. Big thumbs up.

The home is friendly and carers are excellent. I have enjoyed every moment and the food is delicious.

The home is excellent, I am very well looked after. I couldn't have any better attention and care, I get everything that is needed and I know if I needed more I would get it.

Very happy home - like a family house - staff are all delightful and treat residents with respect and kindness. My father in law has recently deteriorated with dementia but he is still treated like a human being and with respect at all times. New management has improved the home with more activities and there is now a 'buzz' about the place. As good as it can be, in view of the dementia suffered by my father in law.

Stokeleigh is like a home. All carers are extremely attentive, kind and caring. Many activities and conversations keep residents physically active and their minds stimulated. I can visit my friend whenever I like and I am always welcomed. Care plans are regularly updated, any worries or concerns are dealt with promptly and administration (finance etc) is efficient too. I like the newsletters too.

My mother is in the home and it is a dementia home. The activities coordinator is fantastic. There are activities every day which includes outside speakers/singers and she ensures the residents are all engaged. The new manager has been a breath of fresh air. The home has been decorated and money is available to spend on activities for the residents. The manager has also made access to the home easier. The staff are friendly and attentive. My mother seems very happy in the home.

My mother was unwell during December and the care that she received from all the staff was exemplary. She was encouraged to get out of bed to help her chest and there was a constant flow of cups of tea to keep her fluid levels up. She has recovered and is now up and about and joining in the excellent range of activities provided. My mother has been a resident for many years and can be quite challenging. She is always well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a caring environment for her.

All I can say is I am happy with my husbands treatment at the home and he seems happy to be there.

I visit my old friend frequently, usually once a week. Her eldest son is a friend mine. I am most impressed with this care home where my friend is happy. When I visit there are several members of staff around. One in particular is always conducting quizzes, scrabble etc. There is frequent entertainment from outside people. My church visits twice monthly once for singing and once for Holy Communion. This is a well run, clean and happy home.

Stokeleigh has lost a number of staff earlier in the year which led to a general degradation of both cleanliness and care particularly at weekend. Has improved recently but available staff to carry out showering and ensuring cleanliness of residents continues to be a challenge. Biggest issue is gaining access visitors are kept waiting at the front door for unacceptable period.

A few problems when settling in - was moved and is now happier.

Excellent caring environment. My mother in law had a difficult, unsettled period when first going there. The staff made changes and suggestions to enable her to settle. The staff are well trained with an excellent manager. All are always pleasant and well informed. They seem to go the 'extra mile'. I would recommend Stokeleigh to anyone looking for a caring, well run residential environment. They are particularly knowledgeable and experienced in dementia care. They treat residents as individuals and utmost kindness. Also the home is a fantastic building in a great location.

I have found the care home to be caring and considerate in looking after my mother. My mother always appears content and well fed. The staff are always helpful and friendly.
