My friend a resident of Langholme sadly had a severe stroke in March. The staff acted with skill, compassion and care to him and the people who care about him. He is still travelling the recovery road and is getting kindness and care day on day by all the staff. They are an amazing team.

10th July was my mother's 100th birthday. The staff at Langholme, organised a small party for her, fellow residents, some friends and our family. They decorated the summer house, helped residents get there, provided tea, coffee, juice, prosecco, and a lovely lemon drizzle (mum's favourite) cake. The manager came with flowers. The carers and kitchen staff were all very generous and welcoming! It was a wonderful occasion. My family is very grateful. Thank you very much.

My mother has been a resident for two years. The staff all treat her with fondness and respect always asking her and encouraging her to participate with the numerous activities. Mum is always happy. The paramedic sees her regularly to check her and refers her to the doctor if required. I am happy with her care and the communication with me regarding her progress. I would particularly like to thanks Linda who organises all the activities.

Dad's needs met immediately- physical and emotional. Noticed improvements in mood and appeared more mentally stimulated since arriving. Great surroundings and ensuite facilities- clean staff friendly and approachable. Admin/senior staff efficient, informative and friendly. I think care fees generally are extortionate for everyday person but MHS reasonable in comparison.

When visiting staff are always friendly and happy. Good to see staff engaging with all residents and stimulation is encouraged via games, music and TV. Nice to be offered drinks, snacks and lunch. Residents always appear settled and open visiting is always appreciated. Having a significant experience of care environment, Langholme is exceptional.

Overall, a positive experience for my mother & the family. Naturally there is room for improvement, sometimes they are understaffed. I'd like to see more activities organised with the more able residents.

My mother has been a resident since September 2024. She tells me every week how much she enjoys being here. The staff are kind caring and patient and the dementia care is outstanding. Mum enjoys all the activities and having the company of staff and residents. The activities coordinator and catering staff were wonderful when they organised a surprise birthday party for mum which her friends attended and enjoyed the food and drinks. The outside gardens are lovely and residents can go outside accompanied by staff or relatives when the weather is good. My family could not have chosen a nicer home.

I can't fault the staff with their care for my elderly aunt who is bedridden and almost blind. I'm sure at times she can be very awkward, but I know she is looked after.

My mother moved in a few months ago, staff were helpful ensuring she settled in. She has dementia so it is important she is not left to sit alone. There is a marked improvement already, she has humour again and is more sociable. She is happy, there is always something going on. Thank you and would highly recommend it.

I had a great advantage over most residents arriving here as a local methodist. I had been fully aware of Longholme since it was opened in 1969, and over the years, I have attended services and functions and visited several residents.

My overall impression since coming here in April 2021 has been of very caring and approachable staff at all levels. This, more than any other factor, has made me a contended person.
