As soon as you walk into the home there is a sense of calm, we were really worried about our dad and his needs, but this worry was taken away by the wonderful caring and thoughtful staff. We certainly could not ask for more, Dad is always well dressed clean clothes, shaved and looks very presentable.
There are plenty of staff around who are always willing to answer any concerns you might have. His room is so lovely and spotlessly clean. They take away any worries you may have about your relative's needs. We know Dad is being looked after and cared for.

The moment we walked into Longview, as a family, we found it calm, the staff were calm, the residents were calm and it was a nice thing to see.
My dad has settled in well, he has other challenges apart from dementia but the staff always listen to us and take on board how my dad may need other care.
My
dad is always well-presented, clean, shaven and clean clothes.
The staff are polite and respectful to both residents and family members when we visit.
As a family, although we miss him desperately, we know he is having wonderful care and love at Longview.

I felt relieved to have found a place for my father at Longview Care Home. They were able to cope with all his special needs and moods. His room had a beautiful view of the garden, perfect for a former gardener.
The staff were plenty, friendly and very helpful. As I live abroad it was important to
me to have someone reliable at the care home to deal with matters involved. This showed most at the final stage and was handled excellently by the manager.
There were unpleasant experiences before with other care homes so my wife and I were able to compare and felt happy to have found a peaceful place for my father to live. We can certainly recommend the Longview Care Home and are very thankful for the way the staff looked after my father.

Dad moved into the care home a few weeks ago. He has presented a number of challenges to the team and they have been professional, caring, and responsive throughout. They're particularly good at working with us and Dad to provide the care that he needs while respecting his independence. They're very
happy to have us visit whenever we like (outside of meal times) and show us lots of hospitality. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Mum moved into Longview in March this year. Initially just for respite as her behaviour (due to Alzheimer’s) was very challenging at home.
From the initial first visit to assess her needs we felt confident and at ease with handing our dear Mum’s care over to them.
Mum struggled to settle at first
and that time was filled with a lot of trauma and worry about how she was reacting to being out of her familiar environment.
Every member of staff calmed our fears, looked after Mum fantastically and did everything possible to help both Mum and us. Every phone call and visit is met with a positive and caring attitude and we will be forever grateful for their kindness and support.
Mum is now at Longview permanently. We see her face light up with every interaction with staff, she’s settled in and even though the journey with Dementia has been a rollercoaster for us - we can now relax knowing Mum is safe and receiving excellent care.
I highly recommend Longview.

My father has been a resident at Longview for 2 years. He is always cleanly dressed and shaven in a timely manner in the morning. There are always plenty of staff around and he doesn’t have to wait for toileting help. Staff are friendly and empathetic whilst also compassionate and engage with the residents.
I
notice positive interactions by staff with my father and they are attentive to his needs and he enjoys cheeky humour with them.
On visits management have taken the time to come and chat with my father and myself.
Staff are quick to notify us of any items my father is in need of and keep us informed straight away of any accidents, falls or minor injuries. They have always contacted the doctor's surgery with any concerns or ailments rapidly.
Overall my father seems happy and content in his stay at Longview and we can’t praise the staff enough for his care.

My sisters and I have been very pleased with the care the staff give to our mother, they deserve a 10-star review!
Before Mum went to Longview she was very angry and upset all the time, after a week or two in Longview she was a changed woman (she's been there a year now), she's always happy and laughing
all the time. My sisters and I have no worries about Mum now.
The staff are amazing, always so friendly and the care they give Mum is great!
We would recommend Longview to anyone!

It was one of the saddest days of our lives, having to put Dad in a home (vascular dementia) and when he failed to settle in the first 2 homes you can imagine our anxiety and despair. Then we discovered Longview, it was like a miracle, he settled in from day 1, receiving a lot of care and attention,
he is happy and content, for us to witness that was unbelievable, we now have complete peace of mind knowing he is safe and well cared for. He is part of a new family now and we couldn't be MORE grateful, it's thanks to the dedicated team. If we could give you 10 stars, we would!

My mum has been a resident for over two years after my dad died, and she could not stay alone at home. I have found that the care and commitment of the staff at Longview exemplary. She is treated as if she is with family, and I am satisfied that she is happy. She has dementia but is clearly cherished
by the staff for her uniqueness, and I would recommend Longview to anyone seeking professional but loving care for their relative or friend. There is always someone to chat with me if I call to enquire after her, and although I haven't been able to visit recently, I have no concerns for her. When I have visited, I am made welcome, and I sense that the staff and procedures are honest and transparent.

My mother in law has been a resident in Longview Care Home for the last 7 years after rapidly contracting severe dementia. In the early years of her stay at Longview, she was frequently highly distressed. However, the care which she has received throughout this time from the Longview team has been exemplary
and has contributed greatly to her becoming far more settled as the years have progressed. The Longview team have always liaised with my wife and I in a very warm and professional way which has been a huge comfort to us. Thank you so much and please keep up the fantastic care!

My auntie will have been in Longview for three years this December. It was my decisions for her to go to Longview, fortunately, she settled quickly.
The staff are brilliant with the residents, they have patience, a lot of time to give them, and above all a lot of care.
The food always smells inviting
with a choice of something else if they don't fancy what's on the menu.
With their cup of tea in the morning and afternoon, a biscuit or piece of cake can be offered. Before covid, when I visited, straight away, I would be offered tea or coffee with biscuits.
Longview is always inviting, it's very clean and always smells fresh. The residents are very clean and smart. I have never had to worry about my aunt's appearance as her clothes are always clean as well as herself.
I was able to stop worrying about my auntie when she joined Longview, knowing she is in good hands and being very well looked after.
I can't praise the staff enough.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.938)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.938) out of 10 for Longview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Longview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (289 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 305 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Longview Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
