My mother has been a resident for three years know. She is looked after by a very professional team receiving great care and compassion from a lovely group of people.
She often has her hair and nails done and always looks nice and feels happy. Entertainment is regularly put on to give some interest.
My sister and are always given a warm welcome and are phoned with regular updates of our mother's wellbeing. And can visit at any time. I highly recommend Longview with excellent manager and team.

My father has been a Longview resident for over two years now. When he first moved in, we did not know what his future would be or how long he would stay. He was low, shocked and vulnerable after sudden short-term memory loss. The manager and his team managed his move to the home with skill, care and
sensitivity. We did not know if Longview would be suitable for Dad in the long term. However, the atmosphere I sensed when I was first shown around (my first visit was not announced) was very calm and positive and this has not changed.
My father feels safe, settled and cared for. He has relaxed into his new home and enjoys the mealtimes, the routine and the good humour which is a feature of daily life at Longview. My experience of the staff is that they have always been welcoming and friendly to me and compassionate towards Dad. My sincere hope is that the excellent model of care and positive, respectful communication which has been put in place over the years continues under the new owners because it works well.

My mum has been a resident here for six months now and she is well looked after and cared for by the excellent staff. I know that she is safe and I have no worries while I go about my daily routine, when I can't see her. It is a friendly, welcoming home and I am always made to feel comfortable when

I cannot rate Longview and it’s staff highly enough.
They are so professional, caring and informative.
In the beginning, we did not want to put my mother in a home, but even on the first visit we were so pleased and relieved that we had found somewhere where we felt totally happy and contented to
entrust her care to them.
You can visit unannounced, and are always made most welcome.
You are kept up to date with all aspects of care, health and well-being.
They are like an extended family, and that includes every member of staff that you encounter whatever their job is.

Selecting a care home for a loved one is a complex and emotionally charged task. But you can relax in the knowledge that the staff at Longview provide care that is second to none. My husband had a choice of care homes for his mother and selected Longview because it was smaller and not part of a chain
of homes. My mother-in-law lived at Longview for just over a year. She had been under Longview's care for a little more than 48 hours when we started to notice the difference. Her hair was cut, she started to interact more and appeared brighter. Whenever we visited the care home, staff always made us feel welcome, offered tea, knew who we had come to visit and were knowledgeable about how she had been. We also received monthly telephone calls to keep updated. The home often had entertainment on in the main lounge when we were there and all the residents were encouraged to engage if they wanted to. She was always treated with dignity and had a genuine affection for those caring for her.

Longview looked after my Grandad for 7 months until his death in December. The home was recommended to us and we immediately knew that Grandad would be well cared for and looked after with respect and compassion as his dementia worsened. Most of the staff have worked at Longview for many years and their
experience and devotion is second to none. Every member of the team was always welcoming, very professional and took interest in understanding our expectations and needs. Grandad was always treated with respect and dignity throughout his stay and he was clean and smart every time we visited him. The home provided a huge variety of daily activities to help keep everyone involved and we are so appreciative of the total care that Grandad experienced at Longview.

Longview looked after Dad with the utmost care and respect. We were kept informed about every aspect of his care, could visit whenever we wanted and got the impression that Dad really mattered to them. He was there from December until November 2018. He had dementia and deteriorated very quickly. We
would recommend Longview to anyone who is worried about the quality of care offered in residential homes, they could not have done more for him. There is a lot of love at Longview.

Mum was well looked after by the Longview team for 18 months until her death in May 2018. She had mixed dementia, Alzheimer's and renal failure which meant she didn't sleep well and needed lots of coordination with healthcare professionals. The staff were kind, patient and efficient, both to mum and
her visitors. The house was clean and homely, the food tasty, and there were lots of activities for the residents to enjoy. The family felt greatly supported by all at Longview during a difficult time.

Mum resided at Longview for almost 5 years with Alzheimer's. Her care was exemplary during her downward spiral, her needs being met every step of the way with compassion and professionalism. We cannot fault the manager and his staff many were with mum from day one, my dad and sister visited twice a
week and were on first names terms with staff and other residents. Our brother and I who live away from Cornwall visited less frequently but we were always met with a pleasant greeting from the staff and given an update on arrival with all questions answered fully when asked. This is a home where the individual is cared for, their needs are catered for and participation in activities are encouraged not compulsory, mum loved to sing along on musical days. Their respect for mum was obvious as indeed it is for all residents ensuring each retains as much individuality as possible.
I have no difficulty recommending Longview to anyone requiring the level of care mum needed. It's an excellent home from home.

My Mum has been in Longview for several years, after a long spell in hospital and suffering from dementia, a nurse in hospital told us about a very kind home that even came into the hospital to help feed and visit their residents. As a result of this chance endorsement, we visited the home and were
delighted by what we saw. It wasn't the most modern but it felt right and it was. Putting mum into a home was one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make but Longview and the team there have proved that it was the right one. Throughout her stay, we cannot fault the service the staff turnover is low and so the service is personal, with lots of entertainment and personal attention. Obviously, everyone's needs are different but, we cannot fault the service and care that mum has received.

My mother, now 90, has been in Longview since 2015 as a result of her severe dementia. The staff, ably led by the proprietor have provided exemplary care throughout, dealing with frequent highly disturbed behaviour, and proactive in informing me whenever possible of planned medical treatment. The local
GP surgery have also been very helpful in diagnosing infections and other physical conditions. The reassurance provided by such excellent care has been immense for me and my family when we are at an age when we also have significant health issues. It is high time the government provided far more finance to such care homes as a matter of urgency.

My Father was not the easiest of persons once his dementia took hold. The staff were extremely understanding of his need to maintain his independence. He was quite aggressive at times but the staff dealt with this very professionally.
The home was always clean and all the residents were well cared
for. There is an enclosed garden they can sit in when the weather is nice. The rooms aren't en suite but we didn't feel this was a problem
The food is of a good standard and they are certainly well fed.
They have daily music sessions drums one day, violinist, singers etc. The residents appeared to enjoy this. There is also art therapy for those who want to do it
When we visited him we were also treated very well and always given refreshments. The staff were also very supportive to my mother if she got upset with how my father was behaving.

The owners and all the staff at Longview were very supportive to all of us when my husband, Dad, Grampy went into Longview. All the Management and staff were available to speak to at any time night or day. They gave us regular updates on my husband's health and wellbeing and they all became an extended
part of our family. We could visit at any time and were made welcome. We cannot thank them enough for their help and compassion they have shown us.

I have a member of my family in the care of Longview for 2 years. Such is the quality of care, I consider their presence a real blessing in our lives. The home is run as a place of genuine healing, care and compassion, by owners who are professional and genuine in the attention they give to residents
and families alike.


I run an organisation recognised at a leader in best practice for ISO9001:2015, quality and risk management. I understand standards, policies, processes and procedures at a high level. Longview excels.


I have had cause to take part in health, welfare and risk reviews at Longview. I have observed the owners and staff performing to a consistently high standard in all areas of their work.


I have personally benefited from their professionalism and kindness, as my family came to terms with the reality faced by my family member at Longview. I will be forever grateful and appreciative.

My Mum has been in Longview Care Home for four years. The very high standards have been the same throughout her stay there, this is now Mums home, it is very comfortable, extremely clean and the atmosphere friendly and homely. Everyone from the owners, nursing staff, carers and cleaners contribute to
the high standards which makes Mum settled, content and safe.
I am regularly updated on how Mum is and immediately informed if anything changes with her and what the staff are doing to help her improve.
When Mum first went into Longview she was well enough to take out for lunch on a Sunday, all the staff made sure Mum was well dressed and ready to go out, they helped with her wheelchair and assistance to the car. Very welcoming when she arrived back, chatting to her and resettling her.
Mum is very vulnerable and her life is reaching the end, I could not be more content that Mum is in the best place, which gives me peace of mind at this stage of her life. Thank you Longview.

The staff are extremely caring and watch each resident to determine if they need anything - at any time of the day or night. My Father-in-law was confused but calm and comfortable....and, given his condition, this was a blessing for us. Living over 300 miles away, it was very difficult for us to visit
very often, and we had great peace-of-mind with him in Longview. We were kept informed at every turn and he was extremely well looked after until the end....which came suddenly but peacefully.
The manager came to the funeral and was happy to spend time talking to us. He and his staff are all wonderfully caring people, and, if anyone else has a difficult decision to make....don't worry.....your relative will be just fine at Longview.

My mother was resident in Longview Care Home between December 2015 and December 2017. I could not have wished for her to spend her last 2 years in a better, safer more caring place. It is well run, clean and comfortable with all of the staff being cheerful, professional and approachable.
Mum, due
to her dementia was a very difficult and demanding resident but was always looked after with care, consideration, respect and flexibility as her needs or demands changed.
I was always kept fully informed and was consulted regarding all aspects of her care and was able to visit her at any time that I wished. We, as a family, are very grateful to the manager and his staff who were very supportive through some very difficult times.
I cannot recommend Longview highly enough!

Longview has provided excellent care for my elderly father during the last few months of his life following a stroke. It is a delightful 'homely' care residence, with beautiful bright decor and aspect, situated in a lovely location, with a busy but caring atmosphere. The facilities are modern, suitably
well equipped and managed to a high standard.
The owners run the home with much patience, compassion and expertise, facilitated by plenty of kind staff members who are always happy and welcoming, with time to give to the residents, regularly on a one to one basis.
There are regular fun activities of music and performance that are very stimulating for the residents and visitors alike. We were always made very welcome to come and visit at any time, and I am so very grateful for the owner's kind support and guidance given to Mum and myself during a rather difficult time regarding my father's dementia and stroke condition. I cannot thank Longview enough for the help they have provided.

My dad has been at Longview since November after coming from another residential home that was unable to deal with his challenging and unpredictable behaviour and his needs. The Manager and his team are amazing with my dad. The home is always very clean and well maintained. Dad is always clean and
tidy. The staff are very caring and know and care for dad and all the residents and their individual needs. And his dignity is always maintained. He has settled in really well and is always happy and involved with the various activities that are on offer. I can’t thank the Manager and his team enough for making a very difficult time for us as a family less stressful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Longview for families looking for a home from home care setting.
