Overall Experience

My mother, now 90, has been in Longview since 2015 as a result of her severe dementia. The staff, ably led by the proprietor have provided exemplary care throughout, dealing with frequent highly disturbed behaviour, and proactive in informing me whenever possible of planned medical treatment. The local GP surgery have also been very helpful in diagnosing infections and other physical conditions. The reassurance provided by such excellent care has been immense for me and my family when we are at an age when we also have significant health issues. It is high time the government provided far more finance to such care homes as a matter of urgency.

My Father was not the easiest of persons once his dementia took hold. The staff were extremely understanding of his need to maintain his independence. He was quite aggressive at times but the staff dealt with this very professionally.
The home was always clean and all the residents were well cared for. There is an enclosed garden they can sit in when the weather is nice. The rooms aren't en suite but we didn't feel this was a problem
The food is of a good standard and they are certainly well fed.
They have daily music sessions drums one day, violinist, singers etc. The residents appeared to enjoy this. There is also art therapy for those who want to do it

When we visited him we were also treated very well and always given refreshments. The staff were also very supportive to my mother if she got upset with how my father was behaving.

The owners and all the staff at Longview were very supportive to all of us when my husband, Dad, Grampy went into Longview. All the Management and staff were available to speak to at any time night or day. They gave us regular updates on my husband's health and wellbeing and they all became an extended part of our family. We could visit at any time and were made welcome. We cannot thank them enough for their help and compassion they have shown us.

I have a member of my family in the care of Longview for 2 years. Such is the quality of care, I consider their presence a real blessing in our lives. The home is run as a place of genuine healing, care and compassion, by owners who are professional and genuine in the attention they give to residents and families alike.

I run an organisation recognised at a leader in best practice for ISO9001:2015, quality and risk management. I understand standards, policies, processes and procedures at a high level. Longview excels.

I have had cause to take part in health, welfare and risk reviews at Longview. I have observed the owners and staff performing to a consistently high standard in all areas of their work.

I have personally benefited from their professionalism and kindness, as my family came to terms with the reality faced by my family member at Longview. I will be forever grateful and appreciative.

I recommend Longview, its owners and staff, without hesitation.

Overall Experience
My Mum has been in Longview Care Home for four years. The very high standards have been the same throughout her stay there, this is now Mums home, it is very comfortable, extremely clean and the atmosphere friendly and homely. Everyone from the owners, nursing staff, carers and cleaners contribute to the high standards which makes Mum settled, content and safe.
I am regularly updated on how Mum is and immediately informed if anything changes with her and what the staff are doing to help her improve.
When Mum first went into Longview she was well enough to take out for lunch on a Sunday, all the staff made sure Mum was well dressed and ready to go out, they helped with her wheelchair and assistance to the car. Very welcoming when she arrived back, chatting to her and resettling her.

Mum is very vulnerable and her life is reaching the end, I could not be more content that Mum is in the best place, which gives me peace of mind at this stage of her life. Thank you Longview.

The staff are extremely caring and watch each resident to determine if they need anything - at any time of the day or night. My Father-in-law was confused but calm and comfortable....and, given his condition, this was a blessing for us. Living over 300 miles away, it was very difficult for us to visit very often, and we had great peace-of-mind with him in Longview. We were kept informed at every turn and he was extremely well looked after until the end....which came suddenly but peacefully.

The manager came to the funeral and was happy to spend time talking to us. He and his staff are all wonderfully caring people, and, if anyone else has a difficult decision to make....don't worry.....your relative will be just fine at Longview.

My mother was resident in Longview Care Home between December 2015 and December 2017. I could not have wished for her to spend her last 2 years in a better, safer more caring place. It is well run, clean and comfortable with all of the staff being cheerful, professional and approachable.
Mum, due to her dementia was a very difficult and demanding resident but was always looked after with care, consideration, respect and flexibility as her needs or demands changed.
I was always kept fully informed and was consulted regarding all aspects of her care and was able to visit her at any time that I wished. We, as a family, are very grateful to the manager and his staff who were very supportive through some very difficult times.

I cannot recommend Longview highly enough!

Overall Experience
Longview has provided excellent care for my elderly father during the last few months of his life following a stroke. It is a delightful 'homely' care residence, with beautiful bright decor and aspect, situated in a lovely location, with a busy but caring atmosphere. The facilities are modern, suitably well equipped and managed to a high standard.
The owners run the home with much patience, compassion and expertise, facilitated by plenty of kind staff members who are always happy and welcoming, with time to give to the residents, regularly on a one to one basis.

There are regular fun activities of music and performance that are very stimulating for the residents and visitors alike. We were always made very welcome to come and visit at any time, and I am so very grateful for the owner's kind support and guidance given to Mum and myself during a rather difficult time regarding my father's dementia and stroke condition. I cannot thank Longview enough for the help they have provided.

Overall Experience

My dad has been at Longview since November after coming from another residential home that was unable to deal with his challenging and unpredictable behaviour and his needs. The Manager and his team are amazing with my dad. The home is always very clean and well maintained. Dad is always clean and tidy. The staff are very caring and know and care for dad and all the residents and their individual needs. And his dignity is always maintained. He has settled in really well and is always happy and involved with the various activities that are on offer. I can’t thank the Manager and his team enough for making a very difficult time for us as a family less stressful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Longview for families looking for a home from home care setting.

My Mum has been at the home since Aug 2015, when her care became too much for us at home with her challenging behaviour. Mum settled in well at the care home where her needs were met although she was still quite challenging. The staff and manager are exceptional in the work that they do, and nothing is to much trouble for them. The care home is clean to a very high standard. I would highly recommend the care home for anyone looking for a well run establishment.

My Dad has been a resident at Longview Care Home for five and a half weeks. He went to Longview from another home that was unable to meet my Dad’s needs/care. He has Alzheimer’s and can be difficult at times due to the nature of his illness.
I feel the owner/manager has managed my Dad extremely well. My Dad has settled in and always seems happy when my husband and I visit.

The Manager and his staff interact with my Dad and treat him with care and respect. The Manager and his team always have time to talk and update me on my Dad’s care. I firmly believe my Dad is in the best place for his illness.
