It’s the team at Trewartha, who are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, that make this home really stand out and give it a warm, family feel.

The variety of activities and experiences organised for the residents are fantastic and make every day different.

At the centre of the home is a large lounge, which is a hub of activity. From yoga, gentle exercise sessions and crafts, to games on the Magic Table, a piece of technology designed for people living with dementia, where they play interactive light games which encourage gentle movement.

Trewartha also has its own dementia choir, which is wonderful for the well-being of the residents and is a wonderful reminiscence activity.

The team is passionate about embracing the local community into day-to-day life in the home, keeping those community connections alive.

From live music from singers, musicians and choirs to weekly visits from a mobile hairdresser for appointments in the home’s salon.

The residents also enjoy lots of animal therapy, with everything from tortoises and rabbits to snakes, ponies and birds of prey.

There are also plenty of trips out in the community, from carveries at the local pub to walks along the beach.

With two secure gardens and a summer house, this summer the residents and team will be growing their own fruit, vegetables and herbs for the chef to use in the kitchen.

The home is split into four wings, each with its own cosy lounge, where residents can relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

There are two dining rooms, where they enjoy delicious home-cooked meals together, prepared by the home’s chef, including roast dinners with all the trimmings and home baking for afternoon tea. Loved ones are also invited to enjoy a roast dinner together.

Providing residential, nursing, dementia care, the team also provide respite care breaks.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1594 and for nursing care £1837, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving. The staff are all very friendly and do a great job. The food my mother is receiving is first-class. Her room is always tidy and comfortable for her with memories and stimulation all around. Well done, guys.

As a family, we are all very happy with Trewartha House Care Home. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is always bright, warm and welcoming. Since moving in Mum has become more involved in daily activities and has made a couple of friends. The food is delicious and plentiful,
Mum is eating well and has put on a bit of weight which is good. We like the involvement in the local cafe and the fact that the staff are planning on outings for residents to local attractions now that we are over the worst of the Covid pandemic. Thank you for all you are doing.

A very warm professional and friendly welcome by all staff in the home, nothing but praise for the way all staff care for and support the residents. A light bright home. Food is excellent, home-cooked and all tastes catered for, always plenty of choices.

My mom was at Trewartha House from March 2022, until her sad passing in November 2022. She was originally at Headlands. In her time at both homes, she was looked after very well, especially in the last weeks of her life, when the staff went above and beyond their duty of care. She was treated with dignity
and respect, for which I will always be grateful. The staff are very kind, special people. When mom passed, the staff bent over backwards to help us at this very sad time. Thank you each and every one of you.

I was at Trewartha House for just over a fortnight, recovering from pneumonia and I cannot speak too highly of the place. The staff are exceptional in the care of the residents. The whole building is spotless and the food is tasty, varied and nutritious. There are three lounges plus other quiet sitting
areas where people can relax, as well as an attractive garden. I attribute the overall success of Trewartha House to the great attention to detail by the management. Every resident's background and preferences are known and catered for. In fact, all are treated like valued family members by the staff. I think the whole home should be related as outstanding.

Mum has been at Trewartha for three months. The staff are all excellent from top to bottom. I have never known such attentive care staff - incredibly patient and nothing is too much trouble. They've got Mum eating, drinking better and taking part in activities. This is a huge difference for her. The
nursing staff are superb. Her medical care is even better than when she was in hospital. It is a huge relief for me to know that Mum is being really well looked after and she is very happy at Trewartha House.

My Mother was recently moved to Trewartha when Headlands closed. The staff, from management down, are exceptional. All staff truly care for their residents, today was my mother's 90th birthday and they pulled out all the stops - it was such a lovely morning celebrating. Thank you each and every one

Trewartha House continues to be a compassionate and caring environment. The staff are always cheerful and engaging with both residents and relatives. They are responsive to any concerns a relative may have and happy to discuss any issues. The home has come through some extremely tough times but have

My mother has been a resident for just over a year, she is a young 62-year-old with dementia so we, as a family, were unsure of her future and how well she'd fit in with being so young, but all of our fears and worries were gone as she settled in very well. The care provided is amazing and they are

I cannot praise Trewartha House and their wonderful team higher.
My nan was a resident form September 19 to her death in June 20. In a truly difficult time for our family, we could rest knowing she was looked after to a high standard and that she was truly in the best hands. She was our best friend,
and they treated her as if she were theirs too.
We were so lucky to have found them. Our heroes.

Trewartha House care home is a home from home, I was very worried about mum staying as I did not have a chance to review before she moved in, but I needn’t have worried, the staff are wonderful and very caring and respectful.
There are plenty of sitting areas and the layout is open plan and spacious,
plenty of very large televisions in the main sitting areas, the bedrooms are small but functional and the staff will put pictures up if required and make sure everything is just so for you.
Mum was only in Trewartha for a couple of months but her time there was joyous, they have a wonderful setup and keep everyone involved, unfortunately, the weather was not good enough to use the outside areas.
Mum received exceptional end of life care at Trewartha and I was kept informed of every stage and I could visit whenever I wanted, I really could not fault them at all. I would have no hesitation of recommending Trewartha.

Welcoming, friendly, warm and clean environment. Light function/entertainment lounge with nice quiet areas too! Excellent caring supportive staff/management staff. Clear informative information is given at the reception desk and over the phone. Meals look deliciously tempting!.

Visited my mum today (20th June) at Trewartha House in Carbis Bay, Cornwall and am so impressed with this home and the staff I saw working there today. My mum is clearly being looked after excellently. The home is very, very clean with no 'stale urine' odour which is present in many care homes. I work
in mental health and have done so for many, many years. The home is bright, airy and uplifting with two lovely resident cats! I cannot find fault at all. Care work is hard work with long hour hours and low pay - these staff deserve a pay rise!

As soon as my husband and I walked through the door we were met and greeted by the loveliest of staff. I was anxious before going in because it was to visit my dying cousin but I felt really relaxed with all the kindness shown to me.
We cannot praise the manager and her staff enough. So impressed

Very welcoming staff. Residents engaged in activities and the home had a pleasant atmosphere. Staff approached visitors offering refreshment and information. Everyone was very helpful. Residents appeared comfortable and happy to take part in conversations and activities. There was an activities coordinator
