It’s the team at Trewartha, who are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, that make this home really stand out and give it a warm, family feel.

The variety of activities and experiences organised for the residents are fantastic and make every day different.

At the centre of the home is a large lounge, which is a hub of activity. From yoga, gentle exercise sessions and crafts, to games on the Magic Table, a piece of technology designed for people living with dementia, where they play interactive light games which encourage gentle movement.

Trewartha also has its own dementia choir, which is wonderful for the well-being of the residents and is a wonderful reminiscence activity.

The team is passionate about embracing the local community into day-to-day life in the home, keeping those community connections alive.

From live music from singers, musicians and choirs to weekly visits from a mobile hairdresser for appointments in the home’s salon.

The residents also enjoy lots of animal therapy, with everything from tortoises and rabbits to snakes, ponies and birds of prey.

There are also plenty of trips out in the community, from carveries at the local pub to walks along the beach.

With two secure gardens and a summer house, this summer the residents and team will be growing their own fruit, vegetables and herbs for the chef to use in the kitchen.

The home is split into four wings, each with its own cosy lounge, where residents can relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

There are two dining rooms, where they enjoy delicious home-cooked meals together, prepared by the home’s chef, including roast dinners with all the trimmings and home baking for afternoon tea. Loved ones are also invited to enjoy a roast dinner together.

Providing residential, nursing, dementia care, the team also provide respite care breaks.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1594 and for nursing care £1837, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

I am a local visitor to the Trewartha care home. My late husband was a resident there for five years and during that time he received excellent care. Every resident is treated with dignity and respect by very dedicated and caring staff, and all visitors are made to feel welcome. I consider Trewartha
to be an excellent care home and one of the best.

My husband's treatment is excellent. The staff are excellent - caring and helpful to me as well as my husband.


The home itself is like a 5-star hotel. I feel my husband is lucky to be there and I know he is safe.

Trewartha as a home is excellent. Staff are very attentive and caring - not only to the residents but also to visitors (it was our first visit to here). When we visited my mum we were offered refreshments on 2 out of 3 visits and were made very welcome. The general atmosphere at Trewartha is very easy
going, friendly and that all residents are looked after very well.

When you walk in you are always greeted with 'hello, how are you', and if you have any concerns they are always ready to listen to you.
All the staff are very helpful and assist my husband with all his needs.
They are friendly with all the family.
They are excellent.

I have made two visits to a lady who I visited in her own home until she was unable to look after herself and came into Trewartha House.
The first time I came I was met with a friendly smile and offered a cup of tea. The lady I come to see was in a large, bright communal area and had some other visitors
with her. She seemed well settled and introduced me to one of the staff who had developed a close relationship with her. I left with a really good first impression which was confirmed when I came in for a second visit.
The lady I was visiting was being seen by a chiropodist and after that gave me a guided tour. There was a feeling of cleanliness and some lovely personal touches to the decor. She told me of the other residents that she talks to and spoke very fondly of the staff. She said she 'felt very loved' by them.

My experience is when visiting my aunt. Trewartha House has an amazing feeling of warmth and sensitivity, efficiency and professionalism. The building and its lightness plus the fantastic enthusiasm and warmth of the staff is amazing particularly compared to other homes I have visited. There is always
a staff member to find and nothing is too much trouble. This is how it should be done.

A fabulous home where the staff cannot do enough for the residents despite some
of them being quite challenging. I can not recommend Trewartha enough, my mother has been here since October and she has been looked after extremely well by everyone from the manager to every member of the care team. It’s

From the date of my wife's stay at Trewartha House ,I have been more than impressed by the care and attention of all the people who work there, from the manager and all the carers/nurses, not only just to my wife, but as a regular visitor I have noticed that the way each resident is looked after
and their needs catered for, even some of the "difficult" ones is exemplary ! ......every resident's name is known to the staff & all are greeted in a very friendly way. all the meals provided are to restaurant standard...........the accommodation is also very good ,each individual bedroom is well furnished , central heated , cleaned daily. Plus clean linen daily and laundry service. Personal belongings, photo's, pictures, radio, tv etc etc.

Trewartha is an excellent care home. It is well run and the staff are caring and cheerful. Day to day, the care is considerate and kind, there are numerous activities and events which enriches the resident's experience. My mother is very happy there and this reassures me as I live 4hours away.

Like everyone, I would like the best available care for my ageing mother who has dementia. Having visited many homes, I feel that in Trewartha House my mother would be getting the best that could be offered. We visited the home when looking for a placement for my husband and immediately felt at home. The place is calm, clean and extremely friendly. It is run like clockwork and the residents are all calm and happy. The staff can't do enough for you and they take pride in all they do. My husband has been
a resident for just over a week and already there is a vast improvement in him physically as he can walk aided and with a Zimmer frame. I really cannot praise this home enough.

Trewartha House has looked after our dad for about 9 weeks and me and my family are really over the moon for him to be there. He has dementia and they are so patient and kind with him. I would recommend the home and each and every staff member are lovely and most of all, dad is really happy here.

Trewartha House has a lovely calm atmosphere.
Visitors are always greeted with a smile and the offer of a cup of tea.
The staff, without exception, are loving and friendly and residents are treated with respect and dignity.
The management are great and will always find time to chat and reassure and
answer any questions. There seems to be plenty of activities for the residents and outdoor trips in the summer.
I would happily recommend Trewartha House.

I have the highest praise for the management and staff at this care home. Nothing is too much trouble and they are a caring and thoughtful team.
When my husband was suddenly taken ill, I was phoned immediately and the situation was dealt with in a calm, professional manner.
There are always lots of
activities planned to enrich the residents'well-being, and the staff encourage residents to participate as much as they want to.
My husband has settled in quickly and I feel happy knowing he is so well looked after.

My mother was a resident in Trewartha for eight years. Trewartha became my family. The care, love, fun, support from all the staff is 24/7. The respect they have for the residents is amazing. My mum had the best eight years there. They took her out on weekly excursions. the home always had fun entertainment.
I have already booked my room there! It is truly a family feel home.

I find Trewartha House very pleasant, friendly and very homely indeed. My father has lived here for several years now and I know he is very settled and happy, very well cared fo as are all the wonderful residents. Dad is always dressed well and in comfortable clothes and well groomed, he is eating well
as the homemade meals and cakes are very good indeed. The staff are always approachable, friendly, caring and I can talk to them at any time if I have a query, also I'm not always well enough to visit but I do know and have peace of mind that the home would ring me if there were a problem and to have this is so very important.

This was the first time that my husband had accepted respite care- the experience would be critical for future care. My husband enjoyed every minute of his stay. I am visiting my mother for the first time since she was admitted nine months ago (I live in America) and am impressed with Trewartha nursing home. The home is clean welcoming and the staff extremely welcoming. I have been in contact with the manager etc by phone and she is easy to talk to and has kept
me informed along the way. My mother is happy and relaxed and looks healthier than I have ever seen her for many years. The care, love and attention that my mother receives from everyone is excellent and I am extremely happy that my mother has come to Trewartha to live out her golden years.
