Alphington Lodge has been founded on the principle that staff treat residents as their own mother or father would want to be treated. All staff take pride on not just being a care home but as an extended family for all residents.
As a residential home, residents tend to be quite able, but still require the love and support that can only be received through a 24-hour care home. The residents enjoy a friendly, happy, home-from-home atmosphere - getting to know the carers and their fellow residents well.
Residents are encouraged to join in on the daily activities, eat well, sleep well and socialise. The home is very focused on helping its residents to recapture that sparkle for life. And as a smaller home, staff treat the residents as individuals and have time to pay attention to the little things.
Alphington Lodge provides long-term residential care and also day-care. In day-care, individuals may choose to join the home during the day but go back to their own home during the night.
Alphington Lodge also provides support for shorter visits (for example coming for a couple of hours to join for a cup of tea and a bath) and joining in activities with the home's friendly little family.

We couldn't be happier with our dad's experience at Alphington Lodge. He initially came for a two-week respite stay and settled in so well that he is still there now! He loves his room, the staff and interacting with the other lovely residents.
Dad particularly enjoys the food, mealtimes and spending time with everyone in the dining room. He is really thriving with the routine and was made to feel welcome from our very first visit.
We have found all the carers and staff to be incredibly kind, friendly, caring and approachable. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and they are always happy to help.
As a family, it is incredibly reassuring to know that Dad is happy, safe and so well cared for. Most importantly, we know that all his needs are being met with kindness, dignity and respect.

Our dad recently went to Alphington Lodge for respite for a couple of weeks. We recently lost our beloved mum and my dad and our family wanted to see how dad would get on in a care environment. Dad in the 2 weeks really adapted well to the environment. The staff have been really kind and caring, dad engaged with the other residents and sits in communal area which pleasantly surprised us as dad is the first to admit he's not the most sociable of people. Dad feels safe and secure and with a recent diagnosis of dementia the 24 hr care gives dad peace of mind and ourselves that dad is being well cared for and is safe which is a huge relief for us. Dad's stay has been extended currently, as a family we feel happier knowing dad is being well cared for. The home is so friendly and a real home from home environment. Dad enjoys the food , interaction with staff and when he wants joins in with any activity that interests him. Thank you everyone for all your kindness and support to dad!

AL not only stands for AL=Alphington Lodge it also stands for AL = All Lovely. Whether it is the lovely building & grounds which are always kept immaculate, spotlessly clean & well maintained. The superb carers who truly put the care into caring. The delicious,varied & plentiful homemade food. It is lovely that AL still has a homely feel as it is a converted house not a purpose built home so has retained that feeling of being a home. The level of cleanliness is outstanding & good to see in this environment, I have been to other homes where a smell greets you before anything else, in the many many years mum has been at this home I have never smelt anything in any place on site which is so reassuring & testament to the high standards that operate at every level from the standard of cleaning to the really lovely food & treats that are on offer. There are so many lovely little touches like icecreams mid afternoon as it is hot. The staff team are what makes AL though they are amazing.

Mother in law has lived at Alphington Lodge for 12 years, is very happy there, enjoys living there & is a bit of a matriarch of the home after being there so long. We visit other care homes visiting relatives & older friends & whenever we leave anywhere else after visiting we appreciate even more the very high standards on every level for everything at Alphington Lodge . We are so glad she has a home that is so clean, never smells, has outstanding caring staff who are by far the home's greatest asset & who just display such care, dignity & so much else to all the residents. Even if someone is doing the laundry or cleaning they will stop to chat to a resident as they pass by. The food is all home cooked, varied, plentiful & there are so many nice touches that appear to keep the food interesting & varied. This week one afternoon they had icecreams, cake & iced coffee mid afternoon as it was so hot. Martine and Harry are both great, so approachable & do a great job & lead a great team.

Arriving at Alphington Lodge it immediately felt a very welcoming place and each and everyone one of the staff are always happy and cheery, nothing is too much trouble and they all go over and beyond to make sure every resident is cared for. It's clean, the food is very good and the activities are always fun. No one is ever bored and lonely. Would 100% recommend. Very well done Alphington Lodge.
