Alphington Lodge has been founded on the principle that staff treat residents as their own mother or father would want to be treated. All staff take pride on not just being a care home but as an extended family for all residents.

As a residential home, residents tend to be quite able, but still require the love and support that can only be received through a 24-hour care home. The residents enjoy a friendly, happy, home-from-home atmosphere - getting to know the carers and their fellow residents well.

Residents are encouraged to join in on the daily activities, eat well, sleep well and socialise. The home is very focused on helping its residents to recapture that sparkle for life. And as a smaller home, staff treat the residents as individuals and have time to pay attention to the little things.

Alphington Lodge provides long-term residential care and also day-care. In day-care, individuals may choose to join the home during the day but go back to their own home during the night.

Alphington Lodge also provides support for shorter visits (for example coming for a couple of hours to join for a cup of tea and a bath) and joining in activities with the home's friendly little family.

We, as a family, have had the pleasure of my gran passing in this family feel home, after spending a wonder three years there. Since covid ended and a new manager came in just over a year ago, the home has grown from being good to excellent in my view. The carers are so dedicated to care; we often see
a few of them on their days off coming in not to work, but spending time with residents. They don't just care for residents they care for residents' families too, especially near the end of grans life - cups of tea and sandwiches were offered - relief during our sad time.

It is with absolute pleasure to rate Alphington Lodge, a full 100% rating My grandad lived with this wonderful team for over 2 years and his personal care was always taken good care of, clean fresh clothes and smelled lovely too. He ate well and was given a daily healthy choice, he was able to eat as
an abled person initially, but towards his end of life, he was fed and assisted to drink as well.
The team always made his days happy and had such a pleasing rapport with him, never a dull moment,
The home was clean and inviting with friendly staff faces and professional.

My mum has been living at Alphington Lodge since May last year after losing her husband of 60 years & a recent diagnosis of dementia. Her stay was meant to be temporary but is now permanent. The staff are all very caring and go above and beyond for her. We are kept informed if she has any health issues.
It was a scary decision to make her stay permanent, the care home is one of the best we have seen and we would recommend Alphington Lodge to anyone.

My aunt had been a resident since mid-January. She was in and out of the hospital and then received end-of-life care from your staff at Alphington Longe.
The care she received was second to none. The staff got to know my aunt well, and they kept in touch with the family. They were open and honest,
as we had not been in this situation before. I would recommend Alphington Lodge to anyone looking for a "home from home" residential home.

My mum lived at Alphington Lodge from January 2023 until she passed away, at the end of May 2023.
Mum received lovely care and was treated with respect and kindness, from the whole team. They are all professional, caring, and have a lovely disposition, it was as if they had been hand-picked for this
very important role.
As a family, we were always met by a happy, smiley member of the team.
I would highly recommend Alphington Lodge as somewhere for your loved one to go. Thank you to all the staff.

My grandfather moved here from Norwich with dementia at 97 years old after he was widowed, he settled quickly and enjoyed his time here. Some of the staff were above excellent in their care and communication. I would recommend this care home.

My great-grandad used to live in Alphington Lodge, we found the care staff very good at what they did, always making sure that my grandad had what he needed and being very comforting. Management was really good at what they did and I never had to worry about anything for him. The staff are really friendly
and helpful to me and my family, especially one of the carers in particular. She was great. This home is very recommended.

My friend came to Alphington Lodge back in the autumn. When I came to visit her, I was blown over by the feeling of warm love and care in the home. The staff, management, carers, cleaner and activity person are just so helpful and kind. My friend hasn't been so happy for a while, until she came in here,
so happy, very clean and enjoying the company of all the other residents. My recommendation would be 200% for the overall experience I have had.

Mum entered Alphington Lodge in October 2022, initially only for a temporary period, so it was a lovely surprise to find a little note on a whiteboard in her appointed room bearing a smiley face and a welcome greeting hoping that she would settle in well. Her stay has now become permanent, and she is
exceedingly happy to be there. The staff are kind, attentive and caring and work well together as a team, which makes all the difference. They consistently ensure that all her needs are met, and altogether, they have created a warm, friendly atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble. The meals that the kitchen provides are of the highest quality, being tasty, varied and nutritious. In addition to this, the home is linked to a well-run GP practice, and when Mum has needed unexpected urgent medical help, she has been attended to immediately. This care home is one of the best I have encountered, and I feel safe in the knowledge that Mum is treated with such respect, dignity and love by all there.

There is always a welcome when we arrive. Dad has built good relationships with staff. Communication is prompt and usually goes to my sister, we are happy to be contacted too. Staff are supportive around our dad's decline and increase in need and when he has been poorly or had a fall. Dad always speaks
about how much he enjoyed his cooked breakfast.

Mum is really settled here and the manager and the staff are fantastic and doing a great job. Mum can be demanding at times but they treat her with respect and dignity. I would not want her to be anywhere else.

Mother has been living happily at Alphington Lodge for over 2 years and is well cared for. The staff are caring and competent and the systems and safeguarding in place are well implemented and well managed. Staff work hard, there is a low staff turnover so continuity of care is excellent. They handle
my mother's dementia, poor mobility, postural hypotension, diet and social contact to keep her safe and I would certainly recommend the home.

I have a friend at Alphington Lodge who is getting on very well since moving in 2021. The home accommodated her very well and had a very good system during Covid, which I was pleased with. They let my friend video call during Covid into Church services so life could feel as normal as possible; I thought
this was a very lovely thing to do for the residents. I would recommend it if you're looking for a place for a friend or relative to stay.

I care in the community and when one of my ladies said she wanted to stay full-time in a residential home now 91 I had reservations, I can honestly say she is more independent now than when at home. My grandmother came here for respite following a series of falls at home. The staff have worked hard to regain her independence and she is now back at home, and so far no falls. Always when I visit my mum in Alphington Lodge it's always a warm welcome from the staff whoever is on duty. Mum always seems happy enough there and the staff do their best to care for her even when there are fewer staff than there should be at times. Security is also very good as far as I am concerned.

Dad initially went to stay at Alphington Lodge for short-term care, settled in quickly, and was happy there. When it became obvious that Dad wouldn't be able to return home, our family was delighted that it was possible to arrange long-term care at Alphington Lodge. Dad has a lovely, airy, en suite
room, enjoys the food, and is well looked after by the caring staff. He has built up a good rapport with many of them. Dad can be a stubborn man and has found it hard to acknowledge that he now has limited mobility, however, the staff handle this well. It is a relief for the family to know that he is safe. Dad says that the home is very satisfactory and he is pleased he is able to stay at Alphington Lodge.
