We have always found staff excellent - caring and can't do enough for their residents. Cleanliness is first class. All residents are clean and happy.
Thank you so much for your review of Coppelia. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and will share with the team your kind words.
The manager is accessible, friendly and has a sunny disposition which affects us all. Staff are helpful and competent if we ask for extra help. Coppelia seems welcoming, institutional and often cheerfully informal.
These aspects of my sister's care are really valued by all the family.
Thank you so much for a wonderful review of Coppelia House which we will share with the team
My aunt who has vascular dementia, moved into Coppelia House in July 2024. When we were first shown around we knew she would be well look after and happy there. It took her a few months to get settled but she is very happy there. The staff are always really friendly towards me and are proffessional and kind to the residents. Coppelia House has always smelt clean and homely. My aunt is looking so much better since being resident there as she doesn't have anything to worry about. I would not hesitate to recommend Coppelia for anyone needing residential care.
Thank you so much for your positive review of Coppelia House
Mum has been treated with understanding, dignity and compassion throughout her time at Coppelia and her personal needs and interests have been accommodated by staff going above and beyond to ensure she is still able to pursue her passions and allowing her personality to shine. She feels loved, valued and safe.
Staff are always ready with a smile or a reassuring word and that support extends not only to residents but also to visiting family members, who are made to feel welcome at all times, making everyone feel included and at ease.
Thank you Coppelia for all you do!
Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt review and experience of Coppelia House. We will certainly share your kind words with our team
Coppelia was our second home with Mum! She was happy, extremely well cared for, and felt loved there. The staff are amazing, so committed to their residents, and really become a part of their family. Access to discuss Mum's needs was immediate and we were kept in touch with all the time. We visited nearly every day and being able to fit visits in at most hours of the day helped us continue a very involved relationship with Mum.
Thank you for writing a review. We really appreciate your feedback. The whole team at Coppelia will be delighted to hear your positive comments. Thank you.
I take great pleasure in recommending all at Coppelia House, over the last few months my father resided there. I was always made to feel very welcome and highly informed with information on my father's well-being. The care was 100%. I even had the pleasure of sampling the delightful homecooked food that Dad took a lot of pleasure eating and enjoying the wonderful gardens, chatting to the wonderful staff. I can't recommend the home and staff anymore and so pleased we moved him there until his last days. Keep up the great work, I'm sure you all will.
Thank you so much for a wonderful review which we will share with our team.
Mum came to Coppelia House in April 2023 for respite care after a fall in her flat. She quickly decided she would like to stay as she felt safe and comfortable in her own room with friendly and supportive staff. Her visitors were always welcomed by the staff, and we enjoyed sitting out together in the sunny garden. Mum received excellent palliative care in the home as she neared the end of her long life and we were kept well informed of her condition. Thank you to all the staff at Coppelia House for looking after Mum in such a caring, respectful way.
Thank you for writing such a lovely review. Your review touches on so much of what we strive to provide every day. The whole team at Coppelia House will be so pleased to read your feedback. Thank you again.
Mum settled in very well and the staff were very welcoming and caring.
My mum has dementia and her biggest problem was understanding the foreign workers. We have moved Mum to be with her husband of sixty-seven years, as this wasn’t the place for my father to stay.
Many thanks to all staff.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The whole team will be pleased to hear how their care was appreciated. Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated.
My father and us, his family, are extremely fortunate to have a care home of such a high calibre on our doorstep. He needed 24/7 care and he got it, he was well fed and kept clean, (his words) The staff were/are very obliging and do everything in their power to make the whole situation as homely and pleasant as possible. Our particular situation was difficult and became more acute over time, the staff true to form were understanding and accommodating to which we are very grateful. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. The whole team will be delighted to hear your positive feedback. Thank you.
Ma was here for 5 years. She was always treated with much love, respect and humility. She felt safe and secure at Coppelia House. Throughout Covid and after there was always emphasis on the happiness of the folks in care. For me, it's been a real comfort that Ma was here being looked after.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to do this. We're really pleased that your mother was so happy at Coppelia. The whole care team will be delighted to hear the positive feedback. Thank you.
Mum spent a month at Coppelia House to recover following major surgery. We cannot fault the care Mum received - the staff were all friendly, good-humoured and extremely professional, especially when helping Mum get used to coping with the stoma she had following surgery. Nothing was too much trouble. Also, Mum said the quality and variety of the meals were exceptional.
Thank you very much for such a lovely review. It's great to hear that both you and your mum are so pleased with the care our team give. Thank you.
With gratitude for the care and love our mother received; you gave us peace of mind and you gave our mother warmth and joy. Together you've created a future for continuing professionalism and care for all.
Thank you so much for your kind words which we will share with the team. We miss your mother greatly and send our best wishes to you and your family.
Our mother was not always the easiest of residents to manage. Nevertheless, the staff were always caring, loving supportive and patient with her. She has been a long-term resident of several years and only recently passed away. The end-of-life care they provided for our mother was exceptional and the support towards our family. Most staff are permanent, not agency and have worked there for many years. All meals and cakes are prepared and home cooked at Coppelia House. Just like home cooking and very tasty and nutritional. Our mother had the freedom to move around the home as she wished day/night time, where safe to. Where some residential homes restrict their movement throughout the day and night. I felt Mum was in a safe environment. She had a lovely garden view. It was a pleasure getting to know the staff over the years.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. The team at Coppelia will be so grateful for your positive feedback. Thank you, Stephen
My mother received end of life care at Coppelia in November. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and attitude towards her and my family. They made a very difficult time as comfortable as possible for all us and their dedication and support was outstanding.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. The care team will be delighted to hear your positive feedback. Really great to hear how much they are appreciated. Thank you, Stephen
My father enjoyed his time at Coppelia House Care Home and was well looked after. He comments that the staff worked very hard and were wonderful. He enjoyed the activities, there was a good quiz and interesting word games which he was enthusiastic about joining in with. His own room had a wonderful view of the town and valley beyond it. The gardens were interesting and relaxing to walk or sit in. Food good. Staff on the ball when we visited or rang.
Thank you for your positive review of Coppelia House. We will certainly share your feedback with our team.
My mother has been a resident at Coppelia House Care Home for five years. She's 96 years old and has dementia. I can tell she's happy and settled and she loves the people that care for her. Coppelia feels like a home from home by avoiding the temptation to create the institutionalised structures that others misguidedly believe are necessary. The carers are kind and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. When issues arise they are dealt with promptly and efficiently. My mother, unfortunately, got infected with Covid at the beginning of the pandemic and if it hadn't been for the amazing care she received at Coppelia I'm sure she would have died. They went over and above what was expected of them and I will always be grateful for this. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Coppelia to anyone who is thinking about residential care either for themselves or a relative. It's a very special place and, despite the obstacles created for the sector by this government, it does an incredible job.
Thank you so much for your kind words and heartfelt review. It's an honour to be able to care for your mum for so long. Thank you.
The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. They treat my mum as if she is one of the family, I cannot ask for anything more. As I said, they are all just amazing. The food is good most of the time but Mum struggles a bit with the big portions, not a bad thing.
Thank you so much for your review of Coppelia House and kind words about the staff who work hard to provide excellent care.
The staff are brilliant and look after her well. The home's management has been exceptional. My wife is happy, contented and relaxed. Although she can no longer find the right words to be able to say. All of the staff and managers spend time with her and anticipate her needs. They all are welcoming to me and keep me informed of any issues.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Coppelia House. It is our pleasure to care for your wife and meet yourself and your family. I will share your review with the staff who I know love receiving them. Take care.
We had to move Mum into Coppelia House Care Home at the end of 2019 due to her deteriorating health. We were glad we could move her into care within the same community she had lived in for 25 years. The staff and volunteers at Coppelia were so nice, pleasant and professional from the first moment we talked to them. I got to know several of them during early visits and Mum was always very happy with the service she received at Coppelia. If truth be told, she didn't want to be anywhere other than home, but Coppelia was about as close to home as she could wish for. Unfortunately, Covid struck soon after she entered Coppelia, so visiting had to be restricted somewhat, but I always felt Mum was being well looked after and her safety was their main concern. Just before she died, restrictions were eased a little and she was able to go on short trips outside Coppelia. I know the staff were truly upset when she died and this was very touching. I can't think of a better place for Mum to spend her last days.
Thank you for such a heartfelt review of Coppelia. We all miss your mum and it was a great pleasure to meet and help care for her.
Coppelia House is my step-father's home and was my mother's too. The staff there are wonderful, and treat residents with kindness, respect and love. They are dedicated, helpful and accessible, and have been of great assistance to our whole family. I would certainly recommend Coppelia House.

With a genuine passion for person-centred care, I strive to create a home where every resident feels safe, valued, and truly cared for. My approach as a manager is to lead with compassion, empowering staff to work as a strong, supportive team while maintaining the highest standards of care and dignity. I started my journey with Peninsula Care Homes as a care assistant and have developed my skills through a variety of roles, including care assistant, senior care assistant, care lead and deputy manager, before becoming Coppelia House Home Manager.
I believe a care home should feel like a big family – filled with warmth, kindness, and meaningful connections.
I take pride in building trusting relationships with residents and their loved ones, ensuring they feel listened to and reassured. My goal is to create an environment where every moment matters, where residents feel at home, and staff feel proud to make a difference every day.

Laura is often the first team member a visitor will meet on arrival at Coppelia House. She lives locally and joined us in 2025. She supports the residents and home team with all administrative duties, which range from welcoming visitors, updating records, supporting compliance, and ensuring team members complete their training.
