Doveridge Care Home

I stay at Doveridge. I enjoy my time. Very nice home. Staff were very nice.

My mum has just had a short respite at Doveridge after becoming very restless and withdrawn at home. The staff were patient, caring and understanding. They reassured her and kept her safe and occupied. She even joined in some activities towards the end of her stay. The whole family felt very happy with her care.

I have enjoyed my life in Doveridge.

Doveridge is an excellent care home. I have made some friends and enjoy my time with them. The staff help me where needed and we have a laugh together and I enjoy activities. I could have not chosen a better home. I am so happy at Doveridge.

Doveridge has brought Mum back to us - we could not ask for more. Thank you.

I go into various homes and would have no hesitation in recommending Doveridge Colyton as the best.

Mummy's room was cheerful, with windows at both ends. She was only there temporarily before moving to a new care home in another part of the country but was very well cared for while there.

Mum has been very well cared for and supported at Doveridge. Staff have shown sensitivity and consideration in all aspects of care and as a result, mum has thrived. She seems to sleep well, looks well, is very happy in her own skin and has gained weight.

After merely a few weeks here, a definite transformation is noticeable in my mother. She has never been difficult, but now it is obvious that she is positively happy. The care is excellent. Mother thrives when she get such personal, empathetic attention. We look forward to the coming weeks and to an increase in Mother's happiness. We shall try to visit frequently as it is obviously important that we all know each other.

My mum has recently been moved to the home. I find the staff very friendly and obliging. They treat the residents with respect and dignity and lots of encouragement and laughter. I would recommend the home to others.

Mum has been a resident here for 9 years and during that time her care has been outstanding. The staff are kind and jolly and professional at all times. Nothing is too much trouble. It really does feel like Mum's 'home' and not an institution. As her needs have changed the staff have adjusted her care accordingly, ensuring that she is always safe and comfortable. A truly outstanding care home. Thank you for taking care of Mum.

I would like to thank all the dedicated staff at Doveridge for the love and care they have shown my mum while she was a resident there. They got to know Mum like a member of the family and always treated her with dignity, respect and a positive attitude. I felt they all genuinely cared and wanted the best for her. I would recommend Doveridge without hesitation.

My mum came into Doveridge mid-May 2017 following a diagnosis of vascular dementia/alzheimer's. She died at the beginning of December from pneumonia aged 97. Although she lost the power of speech, she was always able to indicate her feelings and that was that she was happy and wanted to stay. That surprised me as mum was always fiercely independent and rejected any suggestion in the past of moving to a care home.

Doveridge is special because the staff really care and are kind and respectful in a natural way. That stems from management and although there has been a change of manager, I am confident that unique level of care will be maintained. I visited every week not always on the same day or time, I was always offered lunch. The building isn't perfect, the location is beautiful, but it is the staff who matter most and they have been brilliant.

I feel like I have an extended family here now it's really lovely.

He is looking forward to visiting again in the future.
