I have been with Doveleigh Care for nearly 8 years, starting as an assistant manager (team leader) progressing to a deputy, acting manager and now at present registered manager, I started at Dove Court for 6 years where I became manager and moved to Doveridge to learn different skills working with residents with a diagnosis of dementia.
I have worked in the care industry for 21 years, I started my career doing homecare which I really enjoyed and this fitted around young children commitments at the time. I had a slight change of career in care when the children were old enough for me to do this, I worked in a children's care home as a support worker for children with challenging behaviour and autism, this was an enjoyable challenge and I learnt a lot of different skills.
I got into care as it was something I was always interested in and caring is very natural to my personality.
Outside of work family time is important, I have 2 very young grandchildren who I enjoy watching grow up, I enjoy travelling so every opportunity I am jetting off somewhere warm.
