My mother joined Netherhayes Care Home in Seaton, Devon, after a short stay in hospital. Sadly, she passed away in May 2026. My mother wasn't the most social person. The wonderful carers always made sure she joined in all the fun. She enjoyed the various entertainment and would join in with singing the words and jigging with her zimmer frame. Mum enjoyed all the entertainment that was organised. I would like to thank the lovely manager and her wonderful team of carers who always go above and beyond their duties of care and support to all the residents.

My dad's been in Netherhayes for a few months now and has settled in well. We are very impressed with all the daily activities and the friendliness of the staff too.
It is great to see the social media updates with pictures and that you are able to take him outside as well.

We find the mobile app very informative and reassuring, it is an easy way to keep up with what is happening on the days we are unable to visit.

For the last 8 months our mum has been a resident at Netherhayes Care Home in Seaton, Devon. We cannot thank the staff enough for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness mum receives at Netherhayes. Every member of staff treats Mum with dignity, warmth, and genuine affection, ensuring that she feels safe, comfortable, and valued. The care the team provides is consistently of the highest standard, and it is always clear that the team truly care about mums wellbeing and happiness. The kindness shown to our dad, who visits Mum every day, is equally remarkable. The staff always welcome Dad warmly and provide him with friendship, support, and reassurance during what can often be difficult times. Their compassion extends beyond Mum and Dad to our entire family, and we always feel included, informed, and supported. What makes Netherhayes so special is that the staff and managers feel like an extension of our family. Highly recommended Netherhayes

I feel my wife is very safe and well cared for, her bedroom is kept very clean and tidy.
There are many varied activities and entertainment for residents daily during the week, which are enjoyed by many residents.
The staff are very friendly and respectful and genuinely care for residents they are looking after.
The building is not purpose built and therefore some compromise has been made to the layout. Some communal rooms would benefit from being larger. One bathroom contains a bath that appears to rarely get used and would possibly be better replaced with a "

wet room". I believe this would be more useful to both staff and residents.

Im one of the biggest critics to care homes, every one ive been to have let me down and shown me thier true colours in time.
I can say that this care home cares, and gets in to help every resident, be it birthdays, settling in, getting back to a normal self.
The entertainment is brilliant they include everyone.
When you ask for something its done.
Nothing is a problem, they go out thier way to get anything that is needed, over and beyond.
The staff, well they are BRILLIANT, they are always on the ready to help any request and always friendly. They wave or stop to chat to me outside of work time.
It's aways a pleasure to go in and be welcomed with smiles and hello's all the way to my very close and very special friend. They make me feel part of the family at netherhayes care home. I would Highly recommend this home to anyone that asks.

WELLDONE FOR IMPRESSING ME.

Netherhayes management & staff have shown professionalism, care, kindess and understanding around the needs of my mother-in-law. The activities are varied, fun and you can see the pleasure they bring to all the residents. Nothing to too much trouble and there is excellent communication between us as a family and the home. This is so important as all extended family live some distance away. When we visit it feels like "home".
My mother-in-law recently seemed to go downhill, not eating or drinking which was a huge concern for all the family. Through the care and intense monitoring she received over a period of weeks, she is now back downstairs and enjoying her time. To see this transformation is brilliant. She is always well groomed & dressed and we see more smiles now.

A huge thanks to all the staff.

We have been most impressed by the level of care and attention offered by this small care facility, especially in regard to meeting our needs as power of attorney to a non relative lady who lived some distance from us and with no close relatives living nearby. We are therefore very confident her needs are being met at Netherhayes by the wonderful staff there and that we can visit her whenever we wish without appointment.

My mother has been at Netherhayes since Easter.
The staff are very friendly and create a caring and homely atmosphere.
The activities coordinator has been sure to try to include my Mum in everything that is going on.

My Mum is encouraged to keep her independence, with plenty of staff around to help when required she is very well looked after. Any medical issues are dealt with promptly and I am kept informed.

We cannot praise the home enough for their first class care and understanding the needs of my brother in law, as we don't live that near him and the home, they contact us when he has any problems ie medical or personal and keeps us informed all the time, we have only got to pick up the phone and ask about his situation and they are always ready to take time to talk to us without us feeling we are a nuisance when they are obviously busy , his personal needs are looked after by them with kindness . We as his family can't thank them enough for all the help and support they give him and what we like is that do different themes around the home so the residents still can enjoy the different times of the year ie spring autumn , also they have kind people coming in with dogs for them to talk to and feed them some biscuits , also the wonderful people coming in to sing to them and if they feel like have a dance and join in with the songs thank you all so much.

Since mum was admitted to Netherhayes in June 2025, she has definitely improved with her mental health, anxiety and depression. The staff are all really helpful and friendly and the activities are outstanding. Families are encouraged to join residents for special days that are organised. My personal experience is for the time since my wife was admitted to Netherhayes care home and especially during this month of May 2025. I personally feel that all the care staff are very aware of my wifes needs and as such are very supportive of me. Whilst their main role is to look after my wife, I am very conscious that they also include me, with all the activities within the home.

Very different standards at this care home compared to many others. Most of the carers are lovely and do genuinely have good connections to residents. My uncle was allowed to leave despite having DOLS and we had endless issues with the manager who was rude and regularly undermined her team. We would have phone calls and she would then tell us the information we were given was wrong and that only she could say. There were many issues caused by this bizarre communication set up. Our final straw was when my uncle took an unsupervised fall late at night wandering around the grounds - despite having seen the doctor that morning as he wasn't feeling well. He has had weeks of pain and cannot fully recover from this injury that should never have happened. We placed him in Netherhayes so that he would be safe - we were so wrong.

Netherhayes has a homely feel and the staff are varied and friendly. We visit my partner's dad very regularly and we are always greeted with a friendly smile. The care staff are very patient and kind to residents, even in very trying situations. The location is ideal - a short wheelchair push to the seafront and the many cafes, so it's easy for us to take Dad out. We are very happy with the choice we made.

My mother has been a resident at Netherhayes for just over seven years. Throughout this time the quality of care has never diminished and remains excellent to date. I’ve witnessed first-hand the team’s compassion, empathy, professionalism and great care towards my mother and indeed to all residents. The standard of cleanliness throughout the home is high as is the attention to personal hygiene both for staff and residents. The meals are good quality and varied with residents choosing what suits their pallets. Activities range from crafts, armchair exercises and games, singing along with some of the musicians who visit regularly or going on outings, for example to the Donkey Sanctuary - a particular favourite of my mother’s. I’m welcomed warmly each time I visit and always get a call if there are any issues needing my attention. My mother often tells me how happy she is to be at Netherhayes and that’s all I need to hear!
