My aunt moved into Cornerways in March 2017. She has been well looked after and treated with much kindness and respect.
I visit the home frequently and am always impressed by the cleanliness and high standard of care given to the residents.
The meals are well presented with a choice of dishes and the food always looks inviting.
It is a great relief to me to know that my aunt is staying in such a well run home with such dedicated staff.

Thank you all for what you do.

Cornerways is clean and very well run. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is good. Should I need respite for my partner in the future, I hope there will be a room available at that time.

It is also very nice to see the staff on hand if you need help There is always activities going on in the afternoon which they Can do or just watch. My dad is a very friendly and sociable person and they seem to be able to get that out of him. It is just nice to know that the person who you love very much is well looked after. Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident of a number of care homes in the Torbay area. This has been by far the best one out of them all. The staff are always cheerful and work very hard to make sure the needs of the residents are their number one priority. There are all sorts of activities going on throughout the day: quizzes, play your cards right, softball, bowling, etc. The meals are excellent and freshly cooked by the onsite chef and dietary needs are catered for on an individual basis. The dining room and living room areas are all nicely decorated with comfortable seating. There is a small garden area (quite quirky), for the residents to look out on or get access to via a staff member. The care home is very safe as all entrances and exits have to be facilitated by a member of staff. I would highly recommend Cornerways to any relative that wants the very best of care for their family member.

My family have always found Cornerways to be a caring, comfortable home for our mother who suffers from dementia and is partly bed-bound. The staff are always caring and attentive and manage to find time to talk to us when visiting, and to keep us informed as to any health matters and care issues.

Overall Experience

All staff cared for and cared about my husband in a genuine manner, through the year I have visited him 3 days a week staying 4-6 hours every time and joining him in the dining room for the days main meal. The whole building always smells fresh and any spills are always dealt with immediately. The carers always answer residents questions as if hearing them for the first time when in fact it's probably the 4th or 5th time in the last half and hour from the same resident. Marvellous! They also give caring answers to awkward and sometimes upsetting questions. Brilliant!

Looking for care home for my husband. My first impression was the warmth and friendliness of all the staff and now after just a short time I know I have chosen the right care home for our needs. My husband has settled well thanks to all at Cornerways also they have been so kind to me at this very stressful time. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

Meet the Team (1)

Marie Mason Job Title: Registered Home Manager
Marie Mason

I joined Cornerways as a Night Senior, bringing over 10 years of NHS experience from various hospital wards. When COVID turned the world upside down, I moved to day shifts and gradually worked my way through several roles to where I am today.

Cornerways genuinely feels like my second home. I feel incredibly lucky to lead such a brilliant team and care for our lovely residents—each one with their own stories, quirks, and ability to make me laugh every single day.

When not at work, I am married with three brilliant children and grandchildren whom I adore.
