The care my father received during what turned out to be the last few weeks of his life was exemplary. All the staff were friendly, extremely caring and treated Dad and the family with respect and dignity. We cannot thank the whole team enough for helping us all through this difficult time. You are amazing!

Dad was admitted following a stay in hospital. He settled very quickly. All staff were very kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble and all things were carried out with smiles on faces. Management had a very caring nature and kept us informed really well. All of our family were extremely happy with the standards and level of care during Dad's stay. Thank you all at Kingsmount.

Thank you for the wonderful review. Although your dad wasn't with us for very long, it was a pleasure to look after him for the time that we did. Your comments are appreciated and will most certainly be passed on to our carers and teams.

I visited my good friend who seemed very happy, smartly dressed, hair looking good. Her room was spotless and the staff were kind and helpful and pleasant. I was most impressed.

My mother went to Kingsmount after a fall and was discharged from the hospital. She has been well looked after by friendly professional staff who have always been welcoming to us. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the home itself is very clean and well-appointed.

My aunt was only in your care for the last six months of her life.
When she first arrived after leaving the hospital, we never thought that she would enjoy any more quality time.
The difference in her within the first few weeks was amazing, and she went on to enjoy many aspects of the events that your home provides for stimulation for the residents.
Sadly, in the last month before she passed, she was unable or really unaware of what was happening, but the fantastic care given by all the staff was wonderful, and my aunt passed away as pain-free as possible, something that the family will always be grateful for.

My aunt celebrated her 100th Birthday in October, something we never thought would happen, and a wonderful "Birthday Tea" was laid on privately by the home for my aunt and her family.

Reply from Carole Wood, Finance & Operations Manager at Kingsmount Residential Home

We often find, once a resident has settled into their new environment that we are able to witness them perk up, which is accolades to our amazing care team. It was our pleasure to have your aunt with us at Kingsmount for as long as we were able, and equally, a pleasure to be able to provide a special birthday tea to celebrate her 100th Birthday.

Everything about the service and experince at Kingsmount was first class.
Mum went in there looking every year of her 95 years but came out like a spring chicken, looking 20 years younger after just six weeks.
When she went in there, it looked like being permanent, but they did such a good job that she was raring to get home after a few weeks.

Many thanks to all at Kingsmount for their excellent service.

Such a lovely place. The staff make it a gold star for me. Their kindness, reassurance is outstanding and, more importantly, they all seem happy (happy staff, happy residents). My father loves it there; he never wants to leave. Activities are fantastic and keep my dad entertained; this puts my mind at ease. Would highly recommend it!

My sister has been in Kingsmount for a short period so far and so my review is based on my findings in this short time.

The staff are numerous and friendly and genuinely want to make the residents stay as comfortable as possible. There is a schedule of outside entertainers who come into Kingsmount. We have noticed an improvement to my sister's well-being.

This is a review of the staff at Kingsmount Residential Home in Paignton who looked after my father for the last two years of his life. As a family, we are eternally grateful for the care they gave my father, especially the last year with his various ailments. The biggest compliment I can give them is the staff treated my father as if he was one of their own family and gave him great care always they treated him with compassion and dignity in his final few weeks.

As a family we applaud them. Thank you.

The staff are always very helpful and understanding. Although Mum does not take a lot of food, the staff ensure she gets help when needed. They never complain when Mum spills her drink and they have to change her bedding, sometimes more than once a day!

The overall standard of care and kindness of staff towards my father is so endearing. The past 2 years have been difficult for staff and visitors but they have been very accommodating. Food and cleanliness are excellent. The only care home I've been in that smells lovely. A credit to all staff. Thank you for caring for my dad.

Kingsmount have always shown great care and empathy towards my late mother. My mum resided at the home for a little over 2 years and was always shown respect, kindness and conversation.

These have been and still are very difficult times for us all but especially those in a residential setting. The manager has kept the residents safe at all times in these difficult days and months. I have always appreciated and understood the need for such measures although others may not.

I cannot praise Kingsmount highly enough. My mum received the most excellent care from all the staff. They understood her needs and mine as well, as it was very hard for me to make the decision that she needed 24 hour care. I watched her flourish and relax in her new surroundings. I knew she was happy and well cared for, as she told me. Even during covid lockdown, the staff made sure Mum and I had contact with each other - which was priceless to me.

Mum has been in Kingsmount for 6 months and has settled in well despite me not being able to go into the home to help this period due to covid. I believe she is being well cared for and the staff update me regularly. They are always kind and compassionate on the phone and happy to answer and discuss any questions I may have.

My Dad has had a long respite care with this home, following a fall and a short stay in a peripheral hospital. From the beginning, the staff have worked hard to keep communication lines open between us and Dad, and latterly socially distanced garden visits have been a great joy and success as we come out of the lockdown. My Dad looks well and is content. The staff I have spoken to have been very friendly and happy in their work which means a lot to us as a family. The Manager has dealt with every query patiently and professionally. It is unfortunate that Dad has relocated to a home nearer to us as we are extremely happy with the overall care he got during his stay but it was only a temporary placement. I would highly recommend this home for both respite and permanent care.

My wife received excellent care and support during her last five years in Kingsmount Residential Home.

I was able to sleep easily at night because I knew the staff were so considerate and kind carrying out all of her needs, which I could never have managed. I was made to feel very welcome during my daily visits and almost felt part of the establishment myself. I cannot praise the home highly enough.

My mum has been in permanent residency at Kingsmount since early September 2019. From initial contact prior to placement, the manager and staff were incredibly helpful, supportive and informative at this very difficult time. Mum has settled in and seems very content and happy here. It is a great relief to us all and a great weight off of our shoulders to know that Mum is being well looked after.
