Everything about the service and experince at Kingsmount was first class.
Mum went in there looking every year of her 95 years but came out like a spring chicken, looking 20 years younger after just six weeks.
When she went in there, it looked like being permanent, but they did such a good job that
she was raring to get home after a few weeks.
Many thanks to all at Kingsmount for their excellent service.

Such a lovely place. The staff make it a gold star for me. Their kindness, reassurance is outstanding and, more importantly, they all seem happy (happy staff, happy residents). My father loves it there; he never wants to leave. Activities are fantastic and keep my dad entertained; this puts my mind
at ease. Would highly recommend it!

My sister has been in Kingsmount for a short period so far and so my review is based on my findings in this short time.
The staff are numerous and friendly and genuinely want to make the residents stay as comfortable as possible. There is a schedule of outside entertainers who come into Kingsmount.
We have noticed an improvement to my sister's well-being.

This is a review of the staff at Kingsmount Residential Home in Paignton who looked after my father for the last two years of his life. As a family, we are eternally grateful for the care they gave my father, especially the last year with his various ailments. The biggest compliment I can give them
is the staff treated my father as if he was one of their own family and gave him great care always they treated him with compassion and dignity in his final few weeks.
As a family we applaud them. Thank you.

The staff are always very helpful and understanding. Although Mum does not take a lot of food, the staff ensure she gets help when needed. They never complain when Mum spills her drink and they have to change her bedding, sometimes more than once a day!

The overall standard of care and kindness of staff towards my father is so endearing. The past 2 years have been difficult for staff and visitors but they have been very accommodating. Food and cleanliness are excellent. The only care home I've been in that smells lovely. A credit to all staff. Thank

Kingsmount have always shown great care and empathy towards my late mother. My mum resided at the home for a little over 2 years and was always shown respect, kindness and conversation.
These have been and still are very difficult times for us all but especially those in a residential setting. The
manager has kept the residents safe at all times in these difficult days and months. I have always appreciated and understood the need for such measures although others may not.

My review isn't just March, but all the time my mum was in Kingsmount. The care and empathy the staff give. They treat residents and family of residents with care and support. They really get to know you. Nothing was ever too much. They are amazing.

I cannot praise Kingsmount highly enough. My mum received the most excellent care from all the staff. They understood her needs and mine as well, as it was very hard for me to make the decision that she needed 24 hour care. I watched her flourish and relax in her new surroundings. I knew she was happy
and well cared for, as she told me. Even during covid lockdown, the staff made sure Mum and I had contact with each other - which was priceless to me.

Mum has been in Kingsmount for 6 months and has settled in well despite me not being able to go into the home to help this period due to covid. I believe she is being well cared for and the staff update me regularly. They are always kind and compassionate on the phone and happy to answer and discuss
any questions I may have.

My Dad has had a long respite care with this home, following a fall and a short stay in a peripheral hospital. From the beginning, the staff have worked hard to keep communication lines open between us and Dad, and latterly socially distanced garden visits have been a great joy and success as we come
out of the lockdown. My Dad looks well and is content. The staff I have spoken to have been very friendly and happy in their work which means a lot to us as a family. The Manager has dealt with every query patiently and professionally. It is unfortunate that Dad has relocated to a home nearer to us as we are extremely happy with the overall care he got during his stay but it was only a temporary placement. I would highly recommend this home for both respite and permanent care.

My wife received excellent care and support during her last five years in Kingsmount Residential Home.
I was able to sleep easily at night because I knew the staff were so considerate and kind carrying out all of her needs, which I could never have managed. I was made to feel very welcome during my
daily visits and almost felt part of the establishment myself. I cannot praise the home highly enough.

My mum has been in permanent residency at Kingsmount since early September 2019. From initial contact prior to placement, the manager and staff were incredibly helpful, supportive and informative at this very difficult time. Mum has settled in and seems very content and happy here. It is a great relief
to us all and a great weight off of our shoulders to know that Mum is being well looked after.

The manager was extremely helpful, giving information in a very caring manner. My brother was very happy here and enjoyed his last days here. All the nurses we met during our visit were very friendly and caring.

Staff went over and beyond to ensure my mother's level of care and well being was catered for.

My mother stayed for nearly a year and she said that all the staff were marvellous and caring. The staff organised activities to keep my mother alert and mobile. Christmas was especially good and my wife and I can unreservedly recommend this residential home.

My mum is very happy living at Kingsmount. She is well cared for and very well fed. The rooms are very clean and tidy. When you visit you are always made very welcome and it feels like home from home. I am always informed if mum is not her normal self and advised if she is in need of anything. I would

Brennan

Brennan Wilson

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2003

Brennan joined GrayAreas Ltd just after the Grays bought their first home back in 2002. He worked his way up through the ranks starting at Mount Olivet and then moving to Kingsmount where he was quickly promoted to Senior Carer. In June 2015, Brennan accepted the post of Deputy Manager and then became the Registered Manager in June 2019.


His dedication, commitment and leadership have seen the home maintain the CQC Good rating and his compassion and warmth shown to residents, relatives and staff alike are a further testament to the quality of care he encourages from all his staff.


Brennan has a level 5 NVQ qualification and maintains an ongoing training schedule in order to keep up to date on various health and care issues.


He is an asset to our team and is available to chat with on our landline number.

Diane

Diane Prosser

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2016

Having worked in care since being a teenager, Diane joined Kingsmount as a senior care assistant in 2016. After a few years at Kingsmount, she moved to our sister home, Mount Olivet Nursing Home, continuing in her care assistant role.


Wanting a change from care work but keen to stay in the caring profession, Diane was offered the opportunity to take on the role of activities coordinator at Kingsmount. And she jumped at the chance!


Diane's role is to create and organise various activities to stimulate the residents' physical, mental and emotional well-being at Kingmount. Her work covers a broad remit from coordinating family visits to organising craft activities and spending one-to-one time with the residents.


Originally from Brixham, Diane lives in Paignton, just a short walk from Kingsmount. Outside of work, she is a regular volunteer with St. Johns Ambulance.
