The manager was extremely helpful, giving information in a very caring manner. My brother was very happy here and enjoyed his last days here. All the nurses we met during our visit were very friendly and caring.

Reply from Tori Gray, Operations Manager at Kingsmount Residential Home

Thank you for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure having your brother and caring for him in his final days. He will be sorely missed by us all and the garden will seem emptier without him in it.

We found the quality of care given to mum exceptionally good. The staff were very professional and treated her with respect and dignity at all times. Mum was kept clean and comfortable and so was her room.

The staff were very professional, caring and empathetic when caring for my mother.
Staff went over and beyond to ensure my mother's level of care and well being was catered for.
My mother's last days were peaceful and comfortable, she was surrounded by love.

My mother stayed for nearly a year and she said that all the staff were marvellous and caring. The staff organised activities to keep my mother alert and mobile. Christmas was especially good and my wife and I can unreservedly recommend this residential home.

My mum is very happy living at Kingsmount. She is well cared for and very well fed. The rooms are very clean and tidy. When you visit you are always made very welcome and it feels like home from home. I am always informed if mum is not her normal self and advised if she is in need of anything. I would always recommend Kingsmount for its care and attention to detail.

This was the third time we have chosen Kingsmount for my Nan, after a bad experience at another home. Before she even arrived we knew it was a much better establishment as a home visit was conducted and paperwork completed. During her stays, my Nan is always happy, clean and well fed and any problems are addressed quickly. The staff are very welcoming and professional. I would highly recommend this home and when the time comes for my Nan to need to be in a home permanently I have no doubts this is the best place for her. Thank you Kingsmount.

Management clearly excellent! Fantastically run home - faultless!
Staff all amazing - constantly working very hard - all very conscientious in everything they do. Very respectful of their employers and their appreciated working conditions - this is reflected in the staff's outward friendliness and welcome every time I visit.
My mum is kept safe, warm, well fed, clean and happy.
The personal and individual care given to each resident is second to none - really kind, genuine, respectful and caring to a really high level. Staff interact and spend time as required and over and above. Residents are treated with respect and dignity.

Excellent rooms and facilities, spotlessly clean! Thoughtful regular activities. An amazing, fantastic, happy home.

My sister spent her last 9 months at Kingsmount and they were the happiest since her husband passed away. The home made every effort to make her happy.

Friendly, compassionate, helpful and kind, words are not enough to explain how grateful we are to them. Even at her passing, they were there to support us. It goes to show that with all the poor reports about residential homes, there are still some to whom excellence comes as standard.

Kingsmount perhaps could do with a lick of paint but the residents are all happy and the staff care is excellent.

The food is also of a high standard and generous portions.

I thought the amount of kindness and care shown to my mother and family from all levels of staff was 5-star. Even when the staff was busy, they always make time to speak and make a hot drink - served with biscuits or cake.

When I visit my father the staff are cheerful and welcoming and give me information re his condition and well-being. The food he is offered is appropriate (soft diet) Drinks plentiful. He is clean and comfortable. He does not always cooperate with showering, dressing and going into the lounge but the staff try to encourage him. He has Alzheimer's and can be awkward and abusive at times. The staff remain cheerful. When he is cooperative he is funny and cheerful and the staff joke with him. In their brochure the home advertises "days out" but this hasn't happened in 18 months. I have taken him out when possible.

Kingsmount from the very beginning were very caring they did a personal care plan. They are very attentive. They listen to anything and everything however small and if need be act on it.

I have no complaints at all in my husbands care. He has settled in and is relaxed and calm and I can't speak highly enough of the management and staff. To my mind Kingsmount is a really caring home.

Diane Prosser
Diane ProsserJob Title:Activities CoordinatorJoined: 2016

Having worked in care since being a teenager, Diane joined Kingsmount as a senior care assistant in 2016. After a few years at Kingsmount, she moved to our sister home, Mount Olivet Nursing Home, continuing in her care assistant role.

Wanting a change from care work but keen to stay in the caring profession, Diane was offered the opportunity to take on the role of activities coordinator at Kingsmount. And she jumped at the chance!

Diane's role is to create and organise various activities to stimulate the residents' physical, mental and emotional well-being at Kingmount. Her work covers a broad remit from coordinating family visits to organising craft activities and spending one-to-one time with the residents.

Originally from Brixham, Diane lives in Paignton, just a short walk from Kingsmount. Outside of work, she is a regular volunteer with St. Johns Ambulance.
