Overall Experience

I have nothing but praise for this small and friendly care home. My father has been there for twelve weeks now and is well looked after and comfortable. He no longer has to struggle alone with limited mobility and poor memory and is thus less anxious. He looks forward to his meals each day and I have enjoyed a meal with him on several occasions. He has a peaceful room with a lovely view of the garden. He prefers to stay in his room so does not participate in activities or use the lounge and dining areas. These seem very welcoming rooms and the atmosphere altogether is very much like being 'at home'. The management and staff tailor the care to suit the individual and there is very much a personal touch. If there is anything I need to ask on my father's behalf, or something that staff need to be aware of, I am always listened to and the appropriate action is taken. The manager is extremely friendly, helpful and sympathetic and I know that this, combined with the excellent care of both the senior staff and the main carers, means that my father is in kind and safe hands.

Overall Experience
In the 15 months since my father has been a resident, I have been very happy with his care and the facilities.
He is also content and very appreciative and so relaxed after being anxious and feeling lonely before moving in.
Staff are very patient, caring, polite and welcoming.
We are kept well informed of any incident such as a fall or health problem and the lead 'nurse' is readily available for discussion or concerns.
14 years ago my mother in law was resident here and notably, some of the staff are still working there.

If anything, standards are even higher now, an excellent home.

My friend has been very happy and well cared for by all the staff at Larks Leas. I have always been warmly greeted by all members of staff. The home is kept clean and the garden is a wonderful space to get out into the fresh air. They have provided flexible routines that can adapt to changes of mood and mobility.
