In the desirable conservation area of Talbot Woods, The Evergreens is an award-winning Residential Care Home for the elderly offering modern, high quality accommodation in a traditional setting.

Care is provided by fully trained staff, 24 hours per day in 25 bedrooms, all en-suite and is tailored to resident’s individual needs and choices.

This sought after Home was built in the 1920s has been a residential home for nearly 40 years. Sympathetically enlarged over time, the atmosphere is one of tranquillity and relaxation.   

The home is regulated by CQC and was rated 'Good', across regulated activities in their last inspection (March 2022). Your care needs and safety are their priority and the experienced manager personally carries out a full care needs assessment before any new resident arrives to ensure that care is personalised. Staff are experienced in providing assistance from a helping hand to full personal care and complex mobility needs.

Resident safety is at the forefront of their carer’s daily routine and they have a range of the latest equipment to ensure a resident’s comfort and dignity is at the heart of what they do.

Each resident’s individual requests and needs are of great importance to them and their families and the fulfilment of those wishes is what makes life just that little bit more enjoyable.

Evergreens has provided a safe and secure environment. I cannot praise the directors and management more highly for the kindness they showed us in supporting and helping my mum to settle. Their staff are kind and patient with a very independent lady, who entered the home during covid-19, who was confused
and scared. I know we have made the best choice for our mum. Thank you.

I was resident for six months. Staff very helpful. Always cheerful, would do anything for you. Management very good and friendly also helpful. I was very well looked after. Food very good, prepared on-site. Bed cloths changed weekly also laundry for personal clothes.

My father was a resident here for over two years. During that time he thoroughly enjoyed his relationship with the staff who grew very fond of him. He could be quite a fussy eater but they always provided meals that he enjoyed. His room was kept clean and his clothes were regularly washed. He took part
in a number of the afternoon activities and minibus trips. The Evergreens was an excellent choice.

My father-in-law has now been at Evergreens for 4 months. From the very beginning he was told to treat Evergreens as his own home, and he could have whatever he needed. I have found this to be the case. Evergreens has always been kind, caring, warm and safe. A great home. The staff are committed, kind
and always on hand. Nothing is too much trouble. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. The food is excellent. I couldn't have chosen a better home.

Through the unsettled first few weeks, the staff and management have supported both my father and I - meaning that I have confidence that my father is being well cared for, supported and receiving all he needs.
On visiting the home for a number of hours I can see that the residents are happy and well
cared for. The meals provided have been delicious.

The resident chose the home himself and felt it was just like home. Staff are friendly, caring and compassionate and always have time to chat and listen.
The home is like walking into a hotel, clean and inviting.
There was never a moment when you felt that you are a nuisance.

I came into the rest home needing more care than I was able to give myself at home following two admissions to hospital which had left me exhausted. The staff here have been very welcoming and friendly and have ensured I have eaten plenty and rested well. I need to take eleven drugs daily and these
have always been served in the appropriate doses and at the right time. When in my room, the staff check on me regularly and cheerfully supply anything I need. I find the ambience of the home very good and it is very easy to mix with the other residents.

I am so pleased we found Evergreens. My uncle was very set in his ways and they have been brilliant. The food is exceptional, the staff are kind and attentive and he was able to choose to what level he wanted to socialise. I viewed a number of other options and Evergreens stood out for both the personal

My nan stayed with Evergreens for five years during which time she was treated with much care and compassion. The carers were welcoming and friendly. The food was freshly prepared daily and of an excellent standard which was adapted when required for health issues with no hassle. There were regular

Evergreens was an obvious first choice our of fifteen care homes investigated for my mother-in-law. Its appearance of friendliness, cleanliness and care was a true reflection of their operation. They took great lengths to settle in and initially reluctant mum. Their love and care for her as with all
resident was exceptional. There's not enough space to say all I would like. In conclusion, this is an extremely well-run establishment, so glad mum was able to spend her last years in warmth, love and comfort here. Important for her and us.

Unmanageable circumstances at home due to declining health meant we moved mum from Swindon to Bournemouth to be near us. We spent a few dedicated days looking at care homes, Evergreens being the first, where we were advised to visit several for a comparison. It didn't take long to realise that this
was where we knew mum would be well cared for, on a very personal basis, in an environment very similar to her own home.
The atmosphere was so welcoming over the last 5 years and still is, as I continue to visit the people I became so familiar with who have become a memorable part of our lives. Exceptional team of staff.

On an emergency trip to the local hospital, the communication from the care home to tell me what was going on/happened to my father was excellent.


The hospital was impressed with the detailed notes on my father sent with the paramedics as well as his drugs packaged up so that they could assess him

quickly and efficiently.

We have only been here a short time but in that time we have been made to feel very welcome. The staff and management are very friendly and professional. Dad is very well cared for in all respects, he is treated with respect and dignity at all times. I cannot express highly enough how happy we are with

My sister was lucky enough to be cared for in this truly amazing home. Originally she was there for respite but ended up with palliative care. I have been into a few care homes but not seen the warmth and caring of the staff at Evergreen. They were kind, caring and so supportive of my sister and those
who visited.


I hope they continue to get the assistance they need from doctors, district nurses and cancer support charities. My sister passed away on 4th April with them in attendance. She was safe, secure and peaceful.

I couldn’t fault the care given by Evergreens where my mother spent her final few months. Nothing was ever too much trouble and all the staff were as helpful as each other regardless of grade or level. Evergreens felt homely from the minute we stepped in the door and my mum was happy and well cared
for. After further deterioration in my mother’s cognitive and physical function, there was never a question of us having to move mum to a different, more specialised nursing home. Instead, they worked with us to provide another level of support for her final weeks, for which we are very grateful and allowed my mum to slip away peacefully, with dignity and with her family there.
