My elderly (94) grandmother stayed at the Evergreens until she passed away late last year. The staff were always lovely; both to the residents and to any visitors. I was always offered a cup of tea and made to feel at home. The facilities were always spotless and there is also ample space for visitors
to park. Visiting was never a hassle and the staff always greeted you with a smile. Based on my experience of the staff and the standards set at the property I would wholeheartedly recommend Evergreens for your elderly relative.

Evergreens care home provided an excellent care service for my Grandmother for several months in 2016. During this time they cared for her every day, made sure she was comfortable at all times, encouraged her to eat as much as she could (which was difficult at times) and always talked to her in a beautiful
way making her feel really special. Every time I visited Grandma at Evergreens I was impressed and I would highly recommend their services.

Sadly my mother was only a resident here for two months and was not in the best of health so was unable to enjoy all the activities that she could have done. However, the quality of care she received during that time was excellent in all respects and I would have no hesitation in recommending Evergreens
to anyone considering a Home from home, which it was. The Staff were at all times warm, friendly and kind to residents and visitors alike and I do, in fact, miss seeing them all.

The care and support that The Evergreens Residential home gave to my Dad was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. The care, support and time they gave to my dad was second to none. You could not get a better care home in all aspects - excellent.

My grandfather was a resident in the Evergreen establishment for 3 years until he passed in September'16. Moving him to a care him was a difficult decision, however, he enjoyed his time at the home and was well cared for. He had a beautiful, newly decorated, en suite room with a little garden which
made it a pleasure to visit.
The staff were wonderful and always made myself and my family feel at home, offering tea, biscuits, home-made cakes and sometimes full meals on our visits. I can personally say that the food is excellent and they cater for the resident's dietary needs. The team, comprising of the manager, care staff, cooks, cleaners, and gardeners, always went above and beyond their duty, especially in the last few weeks, and are a credit to the establishment.
They were all also very personable; we knew that they not only cared for my grandfather, but also gave him company in our absence. I would highly recommend this care home and can honestly say that I will miss visiting there.

My father absolutely loved living in Evergreens Care Home and it was very reassuring for me as I live in Cheshire that he was so happy there. I cannot recommend Evergreens highly enough all of the staff have been so kind and nothing is to much trouble.
The rooms are well furnished and the owner is
always looking to improve the surroundings, with a new summerhouse currently taking shape. The gardens well maintained and out side seating for those sunny days, also trips out for the residents throughout the year. The food is of a very high quality and a three course meal is provided every lunch time as well as drinks and snacks throughout the day, you will not be disappointed with this Care Home.

My father-in-law has been resident at Evergreens since July 2010 following the death of his son. He was isolate in his personality and entered reluctantly and with some apprehension. He was immediately made to feel very welcome and interacting with the staff every day brought him out of himself and
his social skills improved significantly. As time went on it very much became, and was accepted by him as, his home. He frequently expressed how happy he was to live at Evergreens and defied us to find him a better home, which he said we would not be able to do. The home is very well run, it is light and well decorated with practical contemporary furnishings, the staff are extremely kind, very professional and treat their residents with respect and dignity. The food is very appetising and cooked from fresh at every meal. My wife and I live 250 miles away in Cheshire and it has been very comforting to know that our loved one was being extremely well cared for. Thank you Evergreens.

The care manager was welcoming upon arrival and completed a detailed assessment, which is the basis of my mother's care plan. The staff are very friendly and professional, showing a good understanding of my mother's medical conditions. The care plan is updated daily and communications with the manager
and assistant managers, plus senior carers is excellent. The residents are encouraged to interact and there is a warm, friendly atmosphere at all times. We are very satisfied with the care provided by Evergreens.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.864)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.864) out of 10 for Evergreens is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.889 for Evergreens is calculated as follows: ( (203 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 226 Ratings = 4.889
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Evergreens is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
