Faithfull House is an elegant Grade II Regency building which has been subtly adapted into a stunning residential home. It is situated on Suffolk Square, with shops and amenities on its doorstep with Cheltenham town centre in easy reach.

Faithfull House can offer people a little day to day support amidst their full and independent lives, right the way through to full residential care (with specialist knowledge of dementia and end of life care).

The beautifully proportioned dining room and lounges are at the heart of the home. The two smaller lounges, library and conservatory mean there is always a quiet place to be found. The accessible private garden are full of interest throughout the year and includes a summerhouse and seating areas.

All the bedrooms are en suite and there are also five apartments as well as rooms for respite care.

The care team includes dementia specialists, a physiotherapist and a qualified nurse (who works closely with the GP surgeries and district nurses).

The Bluebell Suite offers extra care to those with a higher level of needs, such as those living with dementia. This self-contained suite has its own lounge, dining rooms, garden room and accommodation with beautiful views over Suffolk Square. This calm and tranquil setting offers familiarity and continuity which gives extra reassurance and comfort to its residents.

The catering team provide fresh, nutritious home cooked food and are skilled at adapting the menu for different dietary requirements and those with swallowing difficulties.

The activities team work both individually and in groups to offer varied, stimulating and enriching activities including visiting musicians and entertainers, arts & crafts, gardening, games, gentle exercise and trips out.

Staff work hard with care, humour and many individual acts of kindness to make our aunt and her elderly sister (who visits frequently) feel welcome and at home. Our aunt has enjoyed the regular afternoon movies with coffee, the support to access religious services, physio support such as being taken
for walks in the fresh air and so on... The medical reassurance and responsiveness of the team has been much appreciated. It also helps that she has a lovely view from her room, which she finds relaxing and an ongoing source of pleasure. Thanks to all.!

I spent two weeks in respite care over Christmas and found the staff helpful & caring. The meal on Christmas Day was excellent, with all trimmings, but afterwards the quality of the food seemed to tail off, although I realise that leftovers have to be put to use! The soups were excellent. The atmosphere
is friendly & caring.

My mother has been in Faithful House for 18 months and is about to celebrate her second Christmas there, she really likes the decorations and with help remembers things from her last christmas. Although occasionally asking if she is coming home she follows this up by saying she's very happy and likes
being at Faithful House and couldn't be in a better place, She still regards the staff as her friends and the residents as her family. ]Her personal care including minor medical issues couldn't be better.
Reply from Dale Booker, Registered Manager at Faithfull House Residential CareThank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. We are absolutely delighted to hear that your mother is happy at Faithful House and enjoying her second Christmas with us. The festive decorations are a real show piece and they spark happy memories for many of our guests.
Knowing that she sees our staff as friends and the other residents as her family truly means the world to us, especially at this special time of year. We're also very grateful for your praise of her personal care and the support she receives with her medical needs - this will be warmly shared with our team.
We feel honoured to be part of your mother's journey and to help make her Christmas as joyful and comforting as possible. Wishing you and your family a very happy and peaceful festive season

My mother has been in Faithfull Houses care for the last 9 months. I can honestly say I have not visited a care home as excellent.
The home is spotlessly clean, and the food menu is exceptional. The care and concern for everyone's individual needs are second to none, and the staffs lovely, friendly
attitude makes for a relaxed atmosphere.
The activities program is varied and full and the staff do a wonderful job getting everyone involved. My mum is so happy being there. 5* care.

Faithfull House feels like home! My mums who suffers from dementia, settled in quickly into Fauthfull House. The staff are so friendly and caring. They understand my mum and can preempt her needs. My mum has a lovely room and really enjoys the 3-course breakfast, lunch and dinner. The thought and varied
activities offered have stabilised if not improved, her confusion and well-being. She especially enjoys the outing on Tuesday. Mum's family are made to feel so welcome, and visiting is encouraged anytime. We are often made a cup of tea & given a piece of cake by the staff.

I am very impressed with the care and attention my mum gets at Faithfull House.

Faithfull House has a very consistent team of staff so low staff-turnover which means they are well known to my mum and they know her too.

The home has regular activities and trips. They have a lovely garden area

and large lounge and dining rooms.

If I have any issues, they react quickly to emails and respond quickly.

I highly recommend this care home.

My mother was on a two week respite after a reassessment of her condition. They decided to make her a permanent resident in June 2024. Since then, she has settled well, and we as a family have found the staff very welcoming and helpful; they have cared for and looked after her very well in the time
she has been a resident. She has enjoyed the trips out and activities.

We're especially grateful for your fantastic support throughout the year, it particular you amazing effort with the fancy-dress Christmas party. Seeing families get involved and share those moments makes everything we do feel even more worthwhile.

We're glad her transition after the reassessment went smoothly and that she has settled in so well since becoming a permanent resident in June 2024. It's lovely to know that you've found the team welcoming and helpful, and we truly appreciate your kind words about the care she's received.

Hearing that she enjoys the outings and activities puts a smile on all our faces. We'll continue doing everything we can to make her days happy, stimulating, and comfortable.

My mother who has dementia has stayed in Faithful house for respite care on many occasions over the past couple of years and every time the care she has received has been exemplary. The staff are absolutely lovely and mum always seems extremely happy there. There are always lots activities going on
and the food is excellent. Finally the garden and summerhouse are particularly lovely, a wonderful place for the residents to sit on a fine day. I would not hesitate to recommend Faithful house to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative in the future.

Faithfull House pulled out all the stops to give my mother a memorable 100th birthday. Her hair and nails were beautifully done. The staff welcomed the family and had decorated both her room and the room where we met. The cake was fabulous - big and chocolatey. It was enjoyed by all.
Arrangements were
made to transport Mum to an outside party later in the week. All went smoothly, and Mum looked great and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Many thanks to all at Fathfull House.

SECRET GARDEN DAY CARE HUB - part of Lilian Faithfull House
My mother-in-law absolutely loves it here! The staff are friendly and always put the guests at ease, they are treated with dignity and understanding. After a tough few years, this wonderful place has been a new lease of life for her.
She
has made new friends and always comes bouncing out at the end of the day with a huge smile, talking about the fun things she has been doing - one of her favourite activities is when they have a singer visit who plays all the old songs, and everyone gets on the dancefloor. No one is shy, and the staff make sure everyone is included. The staff are wonderful - big shout out to a particular member of staff, who does a fantastic job running the centre and took extra time to reassure us when we were both nervous at the start !
There is always a fun atmosphere at the Secret Garden. As soon as I collect her, she is then on a countdown until the next time she can go. THANKYOU SO MUCH keep up the good work!

The carers always spoke to my sister before anyone else in the room; she acknowledged this with a smile, even when she didn't remember very much. She could at times be very feisty but they always responded with calmness and patience. Everyone was welcoming to all her visitors. We were treated like one
of the family; when towards the end, I spent a night with her. I was shown great courtesy and I felt in good safe hands, as well as my sister. All the staff were approachable and helpful; she was offered alternatives in activities and also in meals. These courtesies intended to all the staff, laundry, handy people, dining room and kitchen staff. Thank you.

My 92 year-old mum had been fully independent until September 2024, when she was hospitalised due to a urine infection. Unfortunately, she contracted further infections whilst in hospital and was very unwell. She developed delirium, which caused all sorts of problems, including hallucinating and not
recognising us, which was awful. Mum went to Faithfull House for assessment, where she has been provided with excellent care by the patient, kind and cheerful staff. Mum enjoyed the Christmas activities and much effort went into making the place look lovely. She has now expressed a view that she does wish not to return to living on her own, which I'm sure has much to do with the social interaction at Faithfull House. The home-cooked food is lovely and mum's gone from not eating very well and losing a lot of weight, to enjoying her food once again. Her room is adequate but I presume those of long-term residents may be superior. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make her stay so comfortable.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.629 for Faithfull House Residential Care is calculated as follows: ( (214 Excellents x 5) + (77 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 310 Ratings = 4.629
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Faithfull House Residential Care is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
