My family and I were most impressed with the level of care that my father received at Faithfull House. All of the staff were very friendly and professional, and any questions that we had were dealt with promptly. I am very grateful for the way that my father was looked after in his final days and the support that I was given by very caring and dedicated members of staff.

Reply from Kelly Richardson, Marketing Manager at Faithfull House Residential Care

Hello Suzanne, thank you so much for your review of your father's care at our home Faithfull House. It was a priviledge to care for your father. We are so proud of our staff and the care they provide. We will be sure to share your kind words with them. Take care.

Our parents were admitted for respite care during the first Covid-19 lockdown. It was a very stressful time, particularly as my sister and I live 100 miles away. From our first interactions, we were hugely impressed by the professionalism and care shown to us all and reassured that our parents would be in safe and loving hands. Although we have only met a handful of staff due to the current restrictions, they are always there for us on the end of the phone or email and we have been able to establish a real sense of connection with them. Having spent the last few months in the care of the Faithfull House family, they have now decided to make it their permanent home. They seem to have found the perfect balance of a place (room with kitchenette and bathroom) of their own, with the added benefits of full care including regular attention from the in-house physio and hairdresser and daily social interaction with all the wonderful staff. We are so thankful to have found such a special home.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Secret Garden. All carers are wonderful, including the team leader. They are always smiling and so helpful. I have been attending the class on a Friday morning and look forward to going each week. I would recommend this day center to anyone thinking about having a lovely place for a loved one to attend.

Lovely atmosphere, good use made of outside/garden areas.
Trips out very good and frequent (in summer).
Food is excellent, very good choice at every meal. Tables laid up well, clean cutlery and table cloths make it all look really good. Nice to see as many residents as possible at most meals.
Room very good, clean, etc.
Staff are all brilliant, careful to attend to all resident's needs.

The best residential home I have ever been in!

Making the decision both as a family and potential resident that maybe it is time to consider residential care is not an easy one. We knew as soon as we walked into Faithfull House that we unanimously felt comfortable. Time has proved our first impression absolutely correct. Kindness and care are evident at all times and it is obvious that each person is dealt with as an individual and with respect. Food is excellent. We know, we have enjoyed it with our Mum. Rooms are beautifully kept and hygiene standards are very high. All of these points are practical but how do you quantify a sense of family, of warmth, patience and with the inevitable complexities of old age and sheer professionalism. Thank you all for looking after Mum so well!

Lilian Faithfull House has a calm and ordered atmosphere. Staff are courteous and friendly and genuinely know the residents. Interesting activities; mum enjoyed the trip to the bowling green. Home is clean and does not smell. Selection of room was a bit disappointing.

From the moment we made the initial enquiry on behalf of our mother, we were made to feel welcome. The assessment was carried out promptly so that our mother could be admitted. The standard of care was excellent and when mum was at the end of life we were also looked after as a family. The staff were very caring and obviously very dedicated. If we had any concerns these were always dealt with promptly and efficiently. If anyone needs similar care I would recommend Faithfull House.

Lovely building and excellent care. The manager is very approachable. Residents seem generally content. Occasionally messages do not get passed on and sometimes and sometimes the phone is not answered. Overall, very good.

Every member of staff has been helpful and welcoming, not only to my mother-in-law, but also to the rest of her family.
The home is always clean and welcoming and staff are always willing to provide refreshments.
There is a plethora of activities available, suitable for everyone.

The menu is varied and has plenty of choice, and the food is all freshly cooked.

Faithfull staff are very pleasant and helpful and the home is kept immaculate. Personal hygiene of residents including laundry is also extremely well maintained and we are also well informed of any problems or medical changes that may occur. Very pleased with our choice to date for my father.

Very welcomed on arrival with my father straight from a hospital in Bristol. His room was ready and very clean and tidy it looked comfortable. Dad was taken to the dining room for his lunch. The dining room was lovely with linen tablecloths and napkins all matching the dining room colour scheme. The staff are very caring and dad has been treated with great care.

My brother was discharged from hospital after a hip replacement to his flat with no support just before Xmas 2017. My husband and I found him two days later in a very distressed condition. We contacted St Faith's in desperation and following immediate assessment, they admitted him for vital respite care which we believed saved his life. After two months respite care my brother was able to transfer to a residential flat in Faithfull House and is now safe and comfortable there. In both locations, we have found the staff to be very helpful and caring.

Faithfull House is an excellent care home, with high staff ratios. A fantastic caring attitude and a very busy weekly programme of activities. It is a large home in Cheltenham town centre with 62 rooms. Run by a not-for-profit charity set up in 1946. To provide a "home for life for the elderly of Gloucestershire". My father recently enjoyed 4-week respite care following a hospital admission for a chest infection. The combination of good care and busy activities in a friendly informal environment restored my father's confidence, self-esteem and joie de vivre. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent home.

I find the home to be caring and a very pleasant environment to visit.
I like the friendliness of the staff and find them helpful.
My mother has a room with much of her own furniture and things which help to make it feel like home.
This is important to her and her family.
The food is good.
In recent months the amount of activities and quality of activities has improved tremendously and I am pleased to report a lively and changing programme.
There are also things to involve families from time to time.

I love the fact that staff do not wear uniforms as I know they would have a very negative impact on people like my Mum but could they perhaps wear a badge to identify them as my Mum doesn't know who's who?

My husband has been a resident at the above home for one year. Most of the staff have been with Faithful House for a long time.
I have found them well trained caring and observant. Communication is very good. Accommodation is changed as needs change. The food is varied and imaginative bearing in mind this is an old listed building facilities are good.

Good value for money.

First contact with the home was on the phone. The response to my difficult and immediate situation was warm, positive, informed and helpful. From the outset, it was clear that my mother and myself were being treated with compassion and professional expertise. A few months later and this is still the case. My mother has not been as well and happy in years.

The care for my mother-in-law is absolutely excellent. Even with changes in staff, she is known and treated very well. Sometimes my mother-in-law is a bit short (particularly about food) but the staff remain pleasant as well as more than doing their duty.
One thing my wife and I are not fond of; waiting for access to the inner opening door. Is it possible to be a key holder?

We have nothing but praise for Faithfull House and its staff.

My mother and father have been living in Faithfull House for the past few years and I much appreciate the fact that they can both be cared for there, although they have different needs. My mother has dementia and cannot walk unaided and my father is frail with poor sight and hearing and other problems associated with old age. They are devoted and spend their days together.
The beautiful building with its spacious dining room leading into the gardens gives the feeling they are in a pleasant environment.

On their wedding anniversary last week the F.H. Team provided a lovely tea party in the conservatory for some of their friends and family. It was a memorable occasion and very heartening. The staff are key and I am grateful for the support and care given to me as well as my parents.
