My mother went into Parton House eighteen months ago diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She has her own ensuite room and a view with plenty to see. The home itself is in well-maintained grounds with quiet areas to sit in. I was always made welcome with a coffee and a smile on arrival.

I found my mother happy in her surroundings and everything spotless. Parton House has a hairdressing salon, a cinema room and plenty of activities plus organised trips. My mother was cared for throughout her stay and the staff did everything to help her and answer any questions I asked.

A very nice detached residence in its own grounds with attractive gardens. A well-maintained property with all the facilities for looking after the elderly and also contains extra rooms for guests and visitors to meet up and relax in a quiet atmosphere. Visitors can also take meals there. Lots of caring helpful staff.

From day one mum was treated with kindness and dignity and extra care always chatting to h er and painting her nails when she was upset. Not only did they help her they also helped us to come to terms with her moving from sheltered housing to her new home aged 93 years old.

I feel they go the extra mile taking them to Weston-Super-Mare and garden centres. She has made new friends and feels part of one big family.

The home is situated in beautiful grounds with easy access and parking facilities.
Staff and management have been very helpful in settling my father in his first month at the home.

I would have no hesitation in recommendation of the home.

I am impressed with the care my aunt has received at Parton House during her ten day's respite.

The staff treat her with dignity and respect and the new management is excellent. All phone calls and emails have been dealt with efficiently. My aunt has particularly appreciated activities such as the volunteer who comes to play her flute every Saturday afternoon and the chicks that hatched from the eggs during her stay.

The family have a good relationship with the manager and staff and work with them to ensure our father's needs are met. The service given is caring and professional and we do not have any concerns as to the care that they give. Meals are very good and fortifying.

Review from C W (Friend of Resident) published on 8 February 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Over the last four years, I have visited Parton House care home at least twice a week to see a friend. Talking to some of the residents, the staff, in general, are very good and caring. Their concern is the food isn't up to standard, the choices are few and far between and some don't want it. The only other thing is the response button - If a carer could visit the person that pressed the button, making sure all is OK. But the response has been twenty minutes or more where a person might be on the floor or seriously ill. Not good enough.

Reply from Debbie Smith, General Manager at Parton House

Thank you for your review and we have noted your concerns. As part of our quality monitoring, we are currently reviewing the menus with our residents to ensure we are offering meals they chose and enjoy. We also monitor the time taken for staff to respond to a call bell, although I believe such a long delay would be very exceptional.

Standards at this home have been improving greatly recently. I visit most days and am always made to feel welcome by the staff. Any problems my mother has experienced have been addressed with care and imagination. She enjoys participating in the activities on offer, within her capabilities. The manager and staff have given me the opportunity to air any concerns I have had.
