Beechwood House

Beechwood House is a wonderful care home. At the heart of this is the staff - they are caring and friendly and have looked after my dad really well. They organise activities for residents every day and take them out on trips. Dad couldn't be better looked after and I'm very grateful for their help and care.

Highly recommend this home.

On the occasions that I have visited the home, I am always made to feel welcome. The staff are always polite and it's always a bubbly atmosphere. Music is always playing and I enjoy talking to other residents who are sat on the couch in the entrance area. The home is beautifully decorated and I feel like I am walking into a house rather than a care home. The atmosphere is so relaxed and it's fantastic that we have the use of the coffee machine. The staff also offer drinks. I also like how I am invited to join in with any activities that are taking place at the time of my visit.

I have found the staff very considerate and helpful in carrying out the needs of Mum. They come and check her on a regular basis and sit and talk to her. The food is of a very high quality and Mum seems to enjoy the events that are put on. Medication is given in a timely manner. Mum has told me she is very happy being here and loves being in an environment where she can interact with other residents and staff.

The care is excellent and the staff are lovely. My husband is looked after very well and he thinks the food is lovely. The staff are very good at encouraging him to take part in the activities. I cannot comment on value for money or the range of activities.

We contacted Beechwood House as mum was struggling following a bad fall. They took mum in for some respite straight away so that we could arrange things at home. I really can't speak highly enough of the whole team. The quality of care and support we have received has been faultless. All the staff are kind, caring and supportive and really create a lovely friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Beechwood House to anyone looking for a care home for their elderly relative.

I chose Beechwood House Care Home for my nan after a recommendation from a friend whose mum had spent her last years there. I liked the atmosphere immediately and I knew it was the home-from-home she needed. The added bonus was that it's only up the road from most of her family. The manager was brilliant, helping with the entry process and even when Nan had been living there for a while she was always happy to instantly reply with answers to my queries. Nan has settled in well due to the friendly staff and has made new friends and when we visit she is happy. We are encouraged to visit whenever we'd like and have also been invited to the activity afternoons organised by their lovely activities coordinator. I feel my nan is very lucky to have such a lovely home now.

The nutritious meals in company and many cups of tea are very welcome and even a regular late night sandwich shows the individual care that Beechwood House supplies to their residents. Care at its best!

I have been to Beechwood a few times to visit a friend who has been a resident for a few years. Staff have always been lovely and welcoming and they are on hand to help with anything. On one occasion I have been there through lunchtime and the food smells divine and my friend says the food tastes amazing and my friend seems to enjoy the food. My friend has said she feels safe and staff treat her with dignity everyday which is reassuring to hear.

Beechwood is a lovely friendly home.

Mum is now really content at Beechwood House, obviously, it was difficult during Covid but things are definitely looking up now. The staff are all magnificent! Nothing is too much trouble and Mum loves them all. Thank you all so much for looking after her so well.

My mum has been at Beechwood for a couple of years, and we have always found her care here to be of high quality in all respects and represents very good value. I always feel reassured that my mum receives the care and attention she needs here.

My mother became a resident at Beechwood during extremely difficult times arriving there a week before the first lockdown in March 2020. My brother, sister in law and myself had a wonderful visit with the manager and a few days later mum arrived. How can I explain her nearly first year for us and particularly myself? It was difficult not having her with us but for her, she settled in well albeit after a fall just before Christmas when she broke her hip and has since recovered well with gentle encouragement from the staff and a talking to from me she is up and tentatively walking with her frame. My mum is 93 and certainly hasn’t given up on life with the help of Beechwood but I have found it difficult not visiting very much but I’m happy that she’s happy and that visiting regularly without boundaries will become a norm sometime this year and that’s all I ask. For me, Beechwood have kept me in the loop knowing how much I miss her and I am grateful for that and they love my mum.

I live a short distance from the home and have passed it regularly over the past 20 years and having visited it last month as a possible home for my mother who was unable to stay in her cottage near Blandford, I was immediately impressed with the homely atmosphere, the excellent quality of the rooms and the friendly staff. The manager was very reassuring and obviously experienced in dealing with the problems encountered by the elderly and their relatives due to the stress that can be caused by a change of environment after many years of living a certain lifestyle.
