Cary Brook

My mother spent a week at Cary Brook whilst attending her granddaughter's wedding celebrations at a nearby venue. The preparation and advice given prior to our visit was very thorough and gave us confidence in the quality of management, standards of care and expertise at the home. From the moment my mother arrived, they made her feel welcomed and valued. She showed no signs of anxiety when returning to the home and clearly enjoyed her stay. The quality of care was excellent and the staff showed compassion, humour and a real sense of empathy. The activities arranged were innovative and had clearly been developed by those who had a genuine interest in improving the quality of life of those in their care. A lovely member of the Cary Brook staff came to the wedding celebrations to ensure that there was real continuity of care. It was the perfect solution for us and enabled attending the wedding to be a stress-free, pleasure for my mother. I recommend Cary Brook unreservedly.

My mother was very comfortable in the home. She was always treated with the utmost respect. The home was always spotless and smelt clean. The most important aspect, however, was the excellent staff who were always caring and cheerful. The end of life care for my mother and her family was outstanding and a much more personal and respectful ending than a hospital would have been.

I doubt if I could have found a home that matched Cary Brook. They are the best and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Staff always helpful on arrival when we visited and kept us up to date regarding any issues regarding my aunt's state of health and wellbeing. Sometimes the staff were a bit overstretch but always cheerful. My aunt appeared to be well looked after and was generally tidy and clean. Her room was suitable for her needs. She joined in activities and outings when she was fit enough to participate when she initially moved into Cary Brook.

A very caring environment. My mother particularly enjoyed the activities, especially music and dance. Although my mother had dementia. She was happy in her own world because of the care and stimulation offered by Cary Brook.

Due to Mum's condition getting worse, she had to leave Cary Brook but from the day she went there, she was treated with the most wonderful care and attention. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all kind beyond words. I cannot praise them too highly and would thoroughly recommend Cary Brook to anyone thinking of placing a loved one there. I can't imagine anywhere better!

My wife's father is in a home which charges similar fees but no way does it compare.

Cary brook is a very pleasant warm and welcoming facility. Residents are well cared for and comfortable. I am unable to comment on some of the options below as I have no personal experience of them.

Dealing with some quite difficult situations due to the nature of the people they care for, I don’t have the words to express my full appreciation for making Mum welcome and the care they now provide.

Cary Brook's care, empathy and kindness to my mother which she was in their home was second to none. Staff were always cheerful, engaging and patient with all her needs.

The managers were always accessible and kept the family fully informed of any arising issues or concerns. The residents were kept engaged for as much as they wished to be in activities and life.

I would highly recommend this home.

The care and environment provided by Cary Brook cannot be faulted. All the staff have been consistently attentive, very good-humoured and kind throughout my mothers stay at Cary Brook. My brother and I can be reassured that my mother is receiving the best care possible and in the best environment during this very sad time of my mother's life.

His end of life care was dealt with very sensitively for which we were very grateful.

My mother-in-law was at Cary Brook from December 2015 until January 2017 when she passed away. During her stay, she was shown great care by all the staff. It is a wonderful place.

My mother had vascular dementia and was a resident from Nov 2013 until she died peacefully at Cary Brook in Jan 2017. The staff, their care and empathy with the residents were exemplary. Mum was always happy, relaxed and well entertained. She made good friends and these friendships were encouraged and assisted. She had swallowing issues but these were allowed for and her weight was maintained throughout her residency by the staff which was quite an achievement. The facilities and equipment are excellent and well adapted to residents' needs. I was kept well informed and consulted on all medical issues and was allowed to contribute to coming up with the most suitable care plan for my mum. On special family events when our full attention was not available, single staff members accompanied my mum and blended is as responsible family members and were a credit to the home and its caring ethos. On her death, we were touched at how affected the staff were, a sign of a real affection.

I visit one of the residents regularly and am very impressed by the care and welfare shown to the residents here. The staff are so kind.

Cary Brook was a very well run and comfortable home. The staff there are excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. There was not one unfriendly member of staff there.
