My aunt has been a resident at The Elms for over four years. The home is small and friendly and set in beautiful grounds surrounded by green fields and plenty of outdoor space.
The home is extremely well run with caring staff who go above and beyond their duties to ensure the residents are cared for
in a safe and friendly manner.
I cannot fault the care my aunt has received since she has been at The Elms, especially throughout the pandemic, and I would happily recommend this home without hesitation.

I had an aunt and a mother (sisters) who had the good fortune to have been cared for by The Elms. I witnessed at first hand the love and care shown by the wonderful staff. Whenever I visited, it was always with warmth and always a cup of tea and biscuit offered. The home is well laid out with all the
facilities you could hope for. Once I visited during an entertainments afternoon and was absolutely overwhelmed with the joy, laughter and sing-alongs enjoyed by my own aunt, mum and all the other residents. The staff are really dedicated and have great affection for the residents. If one day, I have to be cared for, The Elms is where I would wish to be.

Very pleased with all the staff. They were lovely with my husband and very helpful with any concerns I had if I had any. I can not fault the home at all they informed me on everything and the Facebook - it was lovely to see them all enjoying themselves. I used to look at it every day.

My dad was in the home from December 2019 till his passing on November 26 2020. This home treated my mother with such compassion during the pandemic and doing everything they could to assist her in being able to see him.

I cannot rate The Elms high enough. My mum has recently passed but had lived at the home for the last 18 months of her life! She was very happy there as they cared for her very well and always did their utmost to cater to her specific needs. She had a lovely room with a french door with countryside
views. All the staff were very caring and compassionate and they managed to get through the Covid-19 pandemic unscathed with zero cases which I believe is the best result in Yeovil. I would like to thank them for their kindness with our recent bereavement and for taking good care of my mum for the duration of her stay. Xx

My mum has been in The Elms for 8 months. The home is spotless and the girls are all so kind that work there, nothing is to much trouble and they also have a smile on their faces. I love the fact that the residents have plenty of homemade food, cakes, puddings and plenty of fresh vegetables. The gardens
are kept lovely and tidy as well, no rubbish anywhere. I would strongly recommend The Elms.

My Mum has been living at The Elms for nearly a year now. I really appreciate the care that she receives, the staff are professional, attentive and helpful. They spend time with Mum and try to make her feel included in activities whilst respecting her right to make her own decisions about whether to
join in. The home offers a range of activities, including music and singing, arts and crafts, physical exercise and outings. They celebrate birthdays, festivals and other special days. There is a choice of menu at mealtimes and Mum seems to enjoy the food. The staff are reassuring and caring if Mum becomes upset or unwell, seeking the appropriate medical advice, and it gives me peace of mind knowing that she is well looked after.

It took me some considerable time to find a home such as The Elms. I visited many impressive homes but none with the comfortable and welcoming feel of The Elms. When I visit my mother she is always happy and well cared for. Her dementia is well advanced so a small and friendly home, that understand
her needs is really important. The fact everything is on one level with access to lovely gardens and views of surrounding fields is a big advantage. The staff are totally dedicated. I never worry about my mothers well being; I know she is safe, warm, well-fed and cared for with outstanding patience and compassion.

My relative needed to be moved into a Residential Home having become unsafe to remain where they were.
As a recently retired Nursery and School Support, I knew that criteria were paramount in my choice for my relative although at the other end of the age spectrum!
This home jumped out at me literally.
It met everything I was looking for and expected.
My feeling was even more compounded when I visited for a look around. My husband had had an impromptu look around beforehand when he just called for a leaflet! He was most impressed and told me this was the place for our relative and it was!!
My relative, I knew would be happy here as it is small and as such provides a lovely family environment for the residents and family members when you visit.
This was a big move for my relative. Moving 120 miles on their own so to speak.
They are extremely happy and settled there. Taking part in activities. The first time we've seen them happy and relaxed since their partner passed away 18 years ago

The Elms has undergone some recent management changes which have further enhanced the quality of my mother's care and wellbeing at The Elms.
Inevitably these facilities have difficult challenges in managing the varied care needs of residents. My observation is that these are undertaken professionally
and with dignity at all times.

Excellent care home located in beautiful surroundings. The supportive and very friendly staff did not go unnoticed when I visited the home in August for an Afternoon Tea Summer Charity event. It was a really lovely day. The residents were able to sit outside, enjoy live music and entertainment with

Mum moved to The Elms straight from an emergency admission to hospital, sadly she was unable to go home. From the first visit whilst making the hard decision to move her into permanent care, I knew The Elms was just what we were looking for. Staff and management all made the transition for both Mum
and her family a positive one. The rooms are bright and nicely decorated in soothing colours with furniture to match.
All the staff have embraced Mum, treat her with care and help her to remain as independent as is possible within the care home setting. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to others facing this difficult decision. Mum feels safe and is more than happy in her “new home” she loves the activities and being surrounded by caring staff.

My mother was resident at The Elms for 5 years and 4 days from April 2014, she was nearly 98 years old when she died on 11th April 2019.
Mother chose The Elms herself and we never had any cause to regret that choice. The care, kindness and understanding she received were outstanding.
The staff made
The Elms feel like home, lots of laughter, banter and fun. You only have to look at The Elms Facebook page to see the delight taken in the activities by staff and residents alike.
When it became apparent that Mother was failing fast, the care was impressive. Dignity was uppermost and the kindest of hands supported Mother and the family through the dark hours. Staff genuinely cared.
Our grateful thanks to all staff and owners. All the family have gained a great deal from The Elms experience.

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Elms. My mother was well looked after and could not speak highly enough of the staff. My mother had a couple of bouts of illness which were exceptionally well handled. The room was always clean and the food of a high standard being tailored to individual

Both my parents lived at the Elms from 2015 until their deaths. Dad in November 2016 and Mum in December 2018. In all that time the care that they were given was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. It was my parents wish to be there at end of life and they were looked after with grace and
dignity from all the staff. The staff were always there to listen if we had questions to ask and went out of their way to make Mum and Dads time a happy one.

I'm passionate about delivering high standards of care for the residents we look after. I've been in the care industry for 29 years, with my start as a care assistant and working my way up to become a registered manager.


Being a registered manager for a care home carries significant responsibility, as it involves overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure the highest standards of care for residents. My role requires a balance of compassionate leadership, strong organisational skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks such as those set by CQC. I ensure that staff are well-trained, residents’ needs are met individually with dignity and respect, and that the care home operates safely and efficiently. Building trust with residents, families, and staff is essential, as is the ability to respond effectively to challenges and continuously improve service quality. My role is both demanding and rewarding, with a direct impact on the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable individuals.


We have a great team here at The Elms with an atmosphere of happiness. The laughter from staff and residents alike throughout the corridors and home is satisfying to hear. The Elms is really a home from home for the residents, and this is how we like it to be.

Hi, my name is Anita, and I have worked in the care sector for approximately 24 years, the last 10 of which have been here at The Elms. I am level 4 qualified, I am one of the Senior Clinical Leads, and I enjoy every minute of my job and still do!


Being a Clinical Lead here means wearing many hats — and that’s what makes it such a fulfilling role. At the heart of what I do is making sure our residents receive safe, high-quality, and compassionate care every single day. I’m not just in the office — I’m very much on the floor, working alongside our care staff, offering guidance, and stepping in wherever needed.


I spend a lot of time supporting the team — helping with training, answering questions, and making sure our care plans are truly person-centred. I carry out audits, medication checks, and help keep us compliant with all regulations, but I always keep my focus on the people — both residents and staff.

Job Title: Senior Clinical Lead Joined: 2016

Hi, I'm Kat, and I love working at the Elms. I've been here for over 10 years, and it gets better all the time. As a clinical lead, no two days are ever the same. My day starts with a handover, and I check in on any changes with our residents, review clinical notes, and make sure we’re fully up to date on everyone’s care needs. Medication rounds, supporting and mentoring care staff and regular supervisions are part of my role. I ensure our clinical practices are safe, up to date and in line with CQC standards.


I work closely with GPs, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Communication is key to making sure our residents get joined-up, holistic care. I meet regularly with families, too, helping them feel informed and reassured about their loved one’s care. When the Registered Manager is away, I step in to support the running of the home.


What keeps me going is knowing that I’m making a real difference — not just to the residents, but to the staff as well. It’s a role that’s challenging, rewarding, and genuinely meaningful.
