Both my parents were residents during the period 2016- 2018 and everytime I visited which was regularly I always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful they provided a very caring experience for all of us.
The premises always appeared to be clean and tidy and all in all a very good residential
care home.

My father was a resident at The Elms for two years. He had dementia so when he could no longer live safely in his own home with the help of carers we decided to move him to The Elms. It was the best decision my brother and I ever made. Dad loved living there right from the start, he enjoyed the company
of the staff and residents and also the delicious food. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff, they truly work as a team. There was always lots of fun and laughter, dad enjoyed the banter and humour which he had missed when living on his own.
Dad ended his days at The Elms. He received end of life care from them which cannot be faulted. When he passed away there was someone with him, holding his hand which meant so much to us. Dad and our family were treated with kindness, care and compassion by everyone involved with The Elms. Our family is just so pleased we found such a wonderful home and can never thank everyone enough for everything they did for dad.

My mother in law spent the last two years of her life at The Elms Residential Home and although she could be difficult at times due to vascular dementia, she was treated with the utmost kindness, patience and respect by the management and staff. The accommodation is of a high standard, her room was
a good size and was kept spotlessly clean.

Myself and my wife looked at three other care homes for Mum before settling on and deciding on The Elms.
We looked first at a big care home in a village just outside Yeovil, but even though it was ultra-modern it lacked the 'homely feel’, next we looked at a slightly smaller one run by the same company,
but if I'm honest it was noisy and just damn right scary! The 3rd was a care home in Yeovil, without a doubt 5-star luxury, however, due to Mum having Alzheimer's, we wanted somewhere that would stimulate her mind with activities, not just a TV on the go 24/7! We then found The Elms!! One walk around with the manager I just knew it was the ONE!!! Mum has settled in great and now considers it her home. The genuine care and commitment of every one of the staff is exemplary and cannot be faulted in any way.
Mum enjoys the food, the activities and the cheeky banter between her and the staff, which we feel is very important being treated like a member of 'The family' and not just a resident.

I've been extremely happy with my choice of The Elms as a care home for my dad. Everyone who visits says how friendly and caring the staff are. Being a small home they are very aware of any changes in Dad's condition and let me know whenever something needs attention.
As someone living overseas, it's
important to me to know they are taking good care of Dad - and they are. It was definitely one of the best decisions I made to move Dad into The Elms.

My family and I would like to thank all the lovely staff who work at The Elms Residential Home. Mum attends The Elms three times a week on a day care basis, she always looks forward to her day as there is always plenty of activities, lovely food and always someone to talk to, this is very important

My wife and I sat with my father in The Elms as he drew his last breath. It was a very gentle, peaceful moment and like all the rest of the time my father spent in The Elms, there was an overwhelming sense of kindness, calmness and dignity. Every staff member seemed to be only too willing to make the
extra effort to make my dad's stay there the best it could be. Always a man with a cheeky manner, he delighted in the happy banter. At a time when our wonderful health service is being stretched, it was a great comfort to us that dad was able to be cared for properly and completely in this ideal, small-scale setting.

My mother has been a resident at The Elms for quite some time. The care that she receives is outstanding. I have no doubt that she is well looked after and well fed. She is happy in the home where the staff are friendly and caring. She loves taking part in the activities which include knitting and craft.
She also loves taking part in Zumba sessions which often have her on her feet dancing with staff. The also go out on regular trips which she looks forward to.

The staff and management at the Elms are exemplary. The passion and commitment of the team are obvious. My Father recently passed away whilst resident at the Elms. Without question, the way he was treated in his final days and hours, the dignity he was shown to the end and the extremes that the staff
and the management went to in order to make him comfortable is beyond words. The care and concern permeate through all staff and extends to the family as well. Many of the staff team came to the funeral as did the owner who travelled from London to be there. My mother also resides at the Elms and continues to be cared for by an experienced and passionate team who make the Elms what it is - the only choice for my Mother. There may be better equipped and better resourced residential homes in the market - but there is no doubt in my mind that what the Elms offers in terms of quality of care, love and attention is hard to beat.

My father was made very welcome and looked after really well. The home is placed in a lovely setting overlooking lovely views. Everywhere is decorated to a high standard kept clean and well maintained. Rooms are comfortable and warm. Staff are very caring. Dad always enjoyed his food. There are
many activities which dad enjoyed. The owner has mixed with the residents and dad enjoyed his company. Many thanks to the Elms for all they have done.

Mum has been a resident since April 2012 and the care that mum receives at the home helps myself and sisters sleep well at night.
Many of the original staff members are still in post which offers Mum continuity.

Well, our Mother's move from semi-independent living to The Elms Residential Home has been nothing short of a miracle and a joy.


As most of us would feel, giving up a home is very traumatic, but Mother was received with such genuine kindness and friendship at The Elms, that within twenty-four hours

she was 'part' of the place. She feels like 'the luckiest person on earth', to be in receipt of such care comfort and kindness. She thinks she may be in Heaven already! Her worries and anxieties are no longer part of her life and she is free to enjoy being part of the family at The Elms. She is also close to many members of her large family so enjoys regular visits.


Mother loves her beautiful room, looking out over fields of sheep and horses. When she wants to soak up some sun, she goes to a chair just outside her room, reads the paper, has a coffee and chats to passers-by.


The quality of the human environment sets The Elms Residential Home apart.


We are so happy and thankful to all the staff at The Elms.

I'm passionate about delivering high standards of care for the residents we look after. I've been in the care industry for 29 years, with my start as a care assistant and working my way up to become a registered manager.


Being a registered manager for a care home carries significant responsibility, as it involves overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure the highest standards of care for residents. My role requires a balance of compassionate leadership, strong organisational skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks such as those set by CQC. I ensure that staff are well-trained, residents’ needs are met individually with dignity and respect, and that the care home operates safely and efficiently. Building trust with residents, families, and staff is essential, as is the ability to respond effectively to challenges and continuously improve service quality. My role is both demanding and rewarding, with a direct impact on the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable individuals.


We have a great team here at The Elms with an atmosphere of happiness. The laughter from staff and residents alike throughout the corridors and home is satisfying to hear. The Elms is really a home from home for the residents, and this is how we like it to be.

Hi, my name is Anita, and I have worked in the care sector for approximately 24 years, the last 10 of which have been here at The Elms. I am level 4 qualified, I am one of the Senior Clinical Leads, and I enjoy every minute of my job and still do!


Being a Clinical Lead here means wearing many hats — and that’s what makes it such a fulfilling role. At the heart of what I do is making sure our residents receive safe, high-quality, and compassionate care every single day. I’m not just in the office — I’m very much on the floor, working alongside our care staff, offering guidance, and stepping in wherever needed.


I spend a lot of time supporting the team — helping with training, answering questions, and making sure our care plans are truly person-centred. I carry out audits, medication checks, and help keep us compliant with all regulations, but I always keep my focus on the people — both residents and staff.


We are situated in a rural location with beautiful views that our residents all enjoy. We have a lovely working relationship with our residents and enjoy reminiscing about their past experiences and having a laugh. Here at The Elms, I'm proud to say we provide top-quality care and compassion for all of our residents and we always ensure all their needs are met.

Kat Martin

Job Title: Senior Clinical Lead Joined: 2016

Hi, I'm Kat, and I love working at the Elms. I've been here for over 10 years, and it gets better all the time. As a clinical lead, no two days are ever the same. My day starts with a handover, and I check in on any changes with our residents, review clinical notes, and make sure we’re fully up to date on everyone’s care needs. Medication rounds, supporting and mentoring care staff and regular supervisions are part of my role. I ensure our clinical practices are safe, up to date and in line with CQC standards.


I work closely with GPs, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Communication is key to making sure our residents get joined-up, holistic care. I meet regularly with families, too, helping them feel informed and reassured about their loved one’s care. When the Registered Manager is away, I step in to support the running of the home.


What keeps me going is knowing that I’m making a real difference — not just to the residents, but to the staff as well. It’s a role that’s challenging, rewarding, and genuinely meaningful.
