Greenhill House

Greenhill House came highly recommended to me by a friend whose parent had previously been a resident, and I'm so glad I put my trust in this lovely care home. Previously struggling to live independently with dementia, my Dad spent 20 months here and I was privileged to be able to visit him several times a week. Staff were always friendly, helpful and supportive to both Dad and myself and there was a great blend of care, empathy and fun amongst the team's interactions with residents. Reviews to feed back on care were regularly held and acted upon, staff were always vigilant to residents' needs and emotions, and the home is well-organised and managed. Facilities and accommodation are clean, modern and spacious, with the layout of the shared areas and garden enabling independent access for residents who are mobile. Above all else, it was a huge relief to me to know that Dad was in a place that was safe with staff that were, without exception, caring, kind, and professional.

My mum was very happy and safe at Greenhill house. She was welcomed by all and received gentle and loving care by very professional staff who also became her friends. I can recommend Greenhill house to everyone seeking care for family members. It's a warm and loving environment and all staff should be proud of the space they have created. Thank you from us

Our Mother has been a resident at Greenhill for almost three years and the Staff have always been friendly, welcoming and attentive. There is always plenty of activities which residents can take part in if they so wish or they can enjoy relaxing in the gardens on a nice day. There is always rooms are all en-suite , bright and airy. The food is delicious with drinks and snacks always available. The care is wonderful and staff are always respectful of personal dignity. The overall feel is that it is warm and friendly. Visitors are welcome at any time and we have often visited in quite large family gatherings for birthdays, Mother's Day, Christmas etc and are welcomed

I was grateful that Greenhill House was able to take in my Mum at short notice for respite care so that I could take a well needed holiday. Mum spoke highly of the care that she'd received during her 2 week stay. She's not one to sit in the common room /meals area with other residents for any length of time but it was there if she needed the company of others. I felt at ease leaving my Mum there after meeting some of the team that run the facility.

Staff always very friendly. Very helpful and are looking after dad very well.

The staff listened and acted requests made by the family. The layout was very good: it was an easy walk and although the seating in the lounge was good for residents, it wasn't easy visitors to sit there with the resident. I think that staff in the lounge/diner shouldn't be on their phones as much as they were but interacting with residents instead. I was generally very pleased with mum's care but there were times when communication between and management could've been better. However everyone reacted quickly when mum became ill, and a hospital bed was provided quickly too.

Most staff take extra time to converse with residents and offer support when needed, which is appreciated. Even when living independently acknowledgement is often needed.

Dad always enjoys his time at Greenhill House. I know some of the team there, they say he does as well. We are worried that sometimes he may be on his own in his room and not join in with the activities. So a sheet of things he's done would be helpful and to ask him about once he's home again. The management and staff are friendly and happy to help.

Our father has received fantastic care since moving into Greenhill. The staff are focused on the residents well being rather than red tape or finances. Dad was given a very warm welcome and the team have gone above and beyond to settle him in. Their kindness and dedication has truly made a difference. A big thank you to the manager and the team.

When we visited Greenhill House, prior to my mum going in for respite care for a week, I was impressed by the friendly staff, pleasant surrounding and relaxed atmosphere. I had researched many homes and it was important to find the right one, as this was the first time she had gone into a home as a resident. The food is excellent, plentiful and varied, with a snack bar available, so the residents can help themselves if they get hungry throughout the day. The activities are also varied, lead by helpful and enthusiastic team leaders. As a retired registered nurse, I have working in many homes + would rate this as one of the best + wouldn't hesitate to use Greenhill House again or recommend to others.

All the staff are so friendly and have built individual connections with my Grandad at a very emotional time. They have built lovely connections with all of us too!

A lovely friendly environment which is so important when your loved ones are needing to be looked after. A stressful time in our lives and we feel supported by all the staff.

My mum is a resident in Greenhill Cheddar since October 2023. She has been lucky to find a home and caring staff who have become her world and she regards as friends. It is reassuring for us to know that she is happy at Greenhill and they go out of their way to support and find things to interest mum such as gardening club and getting her to help out with napkin folding at meal times.

My mother has been a resident at Greenhill House for 9 years now, during which time her dementia has gradually progressed to the advanced stage at which it is now. The fact that she has lived there so long is a result of the exceptional high standard of care that she has received over the years. Although Mum is bedridden and unable to communicate, she is always clean, has no bed sores and is treated with dignity and respect. As her needs have changed, Greenhill House have adapted their care to suit her. The management and staff are friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Excellent.

My Mum moved into Greenhill in February and has settled really well. Without exception the staff are wonderful. They are all very caring and kind and professional. Mum's room is very nice and the food is excellent. We are allowed to visit freely whenever we choose to and on several occasions one of us have arrived when interesting activities are taking place for the residents.My Dad has eaten Sunday lunch at Greenhill with my Mum and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are so glad we chose Greenhill for her care.
