The Old Vicarage provides a welcoming and friendly home for older people where they can feel comfortable, safe and happy. Prospective residents are welcome to spend a week or two at the home prior to moving in to ensure they make the best decision for them and their needs. Visitors are always welcome from prospective residents and their loved ones, and they may stay for lunch or for an entire day with prior notice so that they can get a real feel for life at the home.

Residents’ individual needs are taken into account when delivering care at The Old Vicarage. From arrival, staff strive to ensure residents are as comfortable as possible and are always on hand to assist with the settling in process. Each resident has a key worker who gets to know residents and ensure all their needs and preferences are met.

We chose The Old Vicarage in 2007 for location and known friendly staff. Since then mums condition has deteriorated and her needs increased considerably. The home has been one step ahead and has met her changing situation sensitively and appropriately. They demonstrate a commitment to safety and comfort
in her familiar surrounding for as long as they are able. Family visits are welcomed. A handsome building with delightful grounds has been thoughtfully adapted over the years and a recent programme of improvement has resulted in considerable enhancement without undue disruption to residents. Activities are no longer relevant for my mother so I cannot comment on this aspect, Similarly, I have no comparisons on cost but I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.

My mother moved to The Old Vicarage in December, as she was unable to manage in her assisted living flat.
Mum was apprehensive at first but soon got accustomed to her new home, the staff treated her with respect and kindness and gave her the care that she required.
The home has provided good home
cooked food and plenty of fluids.
Mum always looked need and tidy, as her health deteriorated she was treated with dignity and made comfortable.
Visitors were well looked after with endless cups of tea and cakes.

My mother was a resident at The Old Vicarage for 8 years. She received excellent care during that time including 'end of life care' when the time came. Staff are cheerful and caring which reflects well on the management. Rooms overlook the large garden or surrounding countryside. The bungalows in the
grounds allow privacy and independence but residents also receive any care required.
