As my mother's needs increase, the staff at Inwood House meet them with humour and dedication. They continuously make innovations to help with the care of residents. The home atmosphere is welcoming, friendly and homely. The staff are always able to spend time answering any questions family and friends
may have - they are kind and caring.

My mother was already a resident of the home and was very happy there. My father was in another home in the area and them being apart was a problem for us all. The manager and the team did a fantastic job in getting Dad moved into the home. This meant that my parents were able to spend some real quality
time together and over an 18-month period, my father passed away in January. The care and kindness provided to them both was outstanding.

My mum was at Inwood for three years before passing. It wasn't just a care home, it was her home. She was so loved and looked after so well. From the day Mum arrived at her new home, from the love and care shown I knew Mum would be looked after. All staff went out of their way to make myself and my
family on our visits, have a relaxing and at-home feel. Due to me working shift hours, I could phone and ask to pop in and it was never an issue. Mum had dementia with psychosis and was partially blind and I know it was at times hard for all the staff to assist Mum with daily tasks but they never gave up and Mum could be quite stubborn at times. The love and devotion shown towards Mum's end of life was so unforgettable, how all the staff from owners, management, carers, housekeeping and not forgetting the handyman who used to tell me what conversations him and mum had on a daily basis.
We stayed with Mum for three days and nights and nothing was too much for staff.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
