I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Wren House to anybody considering a care home for themselves or a relative. My mother is very happy there and has been cared for by the most professional and caring staff for over a year. Personally, I can't thank them enough for all they do for us both.
Thank you for your positive feedback. I will pass on your kind words to the team.
The care given at Wren House is superb! Every member of staff behaves in a professional, efficient and caring manner. Residents and relatives are treated with respect and dignity but above all with great kindness. The past year has been difficult for everyone but Wren House has done their very best to ensure relatives have been able to keep in touch with their loved ones. they have enabled visits wherever possible and kept up to date with the ever-changing Covid-19 guidelines.
Excellent care.
All the staff have been kind and caring at all times. Bells are answered promptly, meals are always hot. The rooms very well appointed with lovely aspect to gardens.
All the residents are treated with dignity and the staff are cheerful and jolly at all times. Has a high reputation locally and cannot praise highly enough.
We could not recommend Wren House more highly. To me, it feels more like a boutique hotel where care is provided. Having so few residents it is not at all institutional, the care is of the highest standard. All the staff are so patient, loving, caring and nothing is too much trouble 24 hours a day. The home-made food cooked on the premises is excellent which is eaten in the lovely dining room or in the resident's room. Guests can join them and are always made to feel welcome. Activities are organised on a regular basis at Wren House as well as outings. There is a very happy and relaxed atmosphere thanks to a sensitive group of staff, with a feeling of security whilst maintaining the resident's independence.
Wren House is the perfect place for my 94-year-old mother. She is safe, which is my primary concern. She is beautifully cared for, extremely comfortable, well-fed and very happy. The staff are, without exception, both professional and caring to a degree, that our family as a whole have no worries at all that she is in the best possible place for her needs. Thank you so much for all you do for her.
Wren House is like a 5-star hotel with care - it's amazing.
This feels more like a hotel or bed and breakfast rather than a care home. My grandma loves it and I love visiting her there.
The care is first class and the staff are wonderful.
I visited Wren House on April 12th, 2018. I was very impressed with the welcoming atmosphere. My friend's room was attractive and catered well for all her needs. The communal lounge was most comfortable and well-appointed and I gathered was used for many excellent activities and entertainment.
I had 2 meals there and supper conveniently served in my friend's room and lunch in the pleasant dining room. Both were excellent and efficiently served.
The staff were most helpful and obviously dedicated to ensuring the well-being of the residents.
It was, in fact, one of the best care homes I have ever visited.
I am extremely pleased, as are the staff team at Wren Care Home with your positive feedback, and we look forward to when you visit again.
I leave Wren House tomorrow after 10 days convalescent respite care, following major knee surgery. I cannot recommend it too highly as the whole experience has been very pleasant and restorative.
My garden room was ensuite and both spacious and well furnished, leading to a pretty garden in which to exercise. The manager has been here for many years, as have most of her excellent staff who were attentive and helpful, day and night. Food was good with plenty of fresh veg, fruit and alternative choices, well cooked and nicely served. Nothing was too much trouble and I can thoroughly endorse their excellent local reputation.
Wren House is an excellent clean and well-managed care home. The staff are always smart in appearance, courteous and they have total engagement with the residents whom they treat with the utmost respect. My mother has remarked on numerous occasions how the staff are only too willing to "have a chat and bit of a laugh" with her. The activities provided by Wren House are many and varied and the residents are strongly encouraged to take part in them.
Wren House gives excellent care for my mother. The staff are always cheerful and willing, even though my mother can be very difficult sometimes. Excellent food and good selection of activities. I accompanied my mother to a quiz night last week, it was very well done and an enjoyable evening.
Fantastic service and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and the food is excellent.
My father was hospitalised twice last year - the care and concern of all the staff during these times was exemplary. The consideration afforded when he returned home was as good as if he were in his own home. All the staff are caring, gentle, considerate and entertaining and always welcome us as friends when we visit - which I do regularly. They help and advise us all the time and I couldn't wish for my 97-year-old father to be in a more wonderful place.
The atmosphere at Wrens House is quite exceptional full of warmth, love and never ending kindness even under the most demanding of circumstances. The ability of the staff to smile through the days when they must at times be extremely tired by the physical and emotional demands of the work is greatly to be admired and I do! So a huge thank you to one and all for the great blessing of knowing my mother is in such good hands.
She is 92 years old and very disabled with arthritis.
She is not an easy person to care for in some ways with unexpected outbursts.
I have been very impressed by how the staff cope with her, very ably led by the manager.
They have sensitively tailored her care to fit around her, altering to fit with what she's needing - in terms of food, mealtimes, cleaning her room, timing care etc, I have every confidence that at all times she is respected and her needs are put first.
I have such feelings of gratitude for the staff who all go the extra mile.
Wren House is the jewel in the crown - nothing is too much trouble. The staff provide first class care at all times and succeed in achieving a family feel to the home. Food is always excellent. Residents are treated with care and compassion and encouraged to remain independent and valued.
Wren House is a wonderful place for my grandad to live. They provide all the care he could ask for and all of the staff are really amazing. The building is very clean (always) and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. I cannot speak highly enough of Wren House.
My grandad has been extremely happy at Wren House since moving in. I find the place very clean and tidy. The staff are all really lovely and welcoming. I find the additional things they arrange for the residents such as the garden party in the summer and the pantomime at Christmas are really thoughtful and fantastic!

I am a mother of two and have two grandchildren, stepmother of two and four step-grandchildren. My family life is very busy, but I have great support from my husband. My interests are rugby, as my son plays the sport and course fishing to relax. I have been in the care sector for 15 years, ranging from the acute setting of a hospital after being at university to gain my diploma in adult nursing to a senior carer at Wren House. I have been promoted at Wren House to the home manager, which is a position that I enjoy as I am a very driven person and confident in all aspects of running the Home and my lovely residents.
