My father receives excellent care and understanding and kindness from all the staff at Wren House. The food is superb and he is 100% happy to live there. The building is beautiful and is being decorated as time goes by.

Wren House provides excellent care for my grandfather. He is very happy and enjoys his time there. The staff are always friendly and kind. This service extends to our family too. Wren House gives family members the confidence to know that the care that is given is of the best quality.

Wren House is remarkable in its homely feel and amazing staff. They are so caring- nothing is ever too much trouble and the dignified manner in which all residents are dealt with is wonderful. The little touches like home baked cakes and bone china go a long way in adding to this homely feel. This atmosphere coupled with the best in terms of cleanliness and quality of care mean I could not wish for my granny to be anywhere better.

My aunt spent the last six years of her life at Wren House. She suffered from anxiety, and was not an easy person to care for. The staff were always friendly, kind and gentle, took time to reassure here, and to keep the routine she had became used to. She was a fussy eater - if she did not like the choices on the excellent and varied menu. There was always one of her favourite dishes available for her. She did not wish to mix with the other residents, so chose to eat in her room. Food was always served attractively e.g cups and saucers rather than mugs, and a different pattern in the afternoon from the mornings. The intercom system meant that as soon as she rang her bell, someone was able to speak to her, so no long waits for a response. I do not know anywhere else that could have provided such excellent care. I personally, found all the staff friendly and approachable. The senior member on duty was always ready to discuss any concerns I had at any time.

My mother spent the last 2 and a half years of her life in Wren House. Huge efforts were made to take her in from hospital just after Christmas 2011. From then on she had perfect care - a bath every day, home-cooked good and imaginative meals, a warm and comfortable room, help with the TV channels and even her toe nails painted on request in summer!

She was quite a demanding old lady who was cared for with great patience and fun. When she passed away, aged 97, peacefully in July 2014, we felt overcome with gratitude for the time she was in Wren House.

My aunt has been very well cared for at Wren House. The only negative is that the location and layout of the house and garden are not conducive to easy access for wheel chairs or walking frames, so my aunt has spent too much of her time in her room without being able to be pushed into town, to church or generally into the fresh air. However, as she ages this becomes less of an issue.

My mother spent the last fourteen months of her life at Wren House. We considered Wren House for my mother because her mother and great aunt had been there in the 90's when it was privately owned. It is now run by Montreux Living. The care my mother received was nothing short of excellent. She was completely incontinent and yet she retained her dignity. This was due to the amazing staff and their care. I hope that if I were ever to need to go to a care home that I could go somewhere as amazing as Wren House. I know my late mother would agree.

My granny has lived at Wren House for almost two years. I visit her several times a week and I am always pleased with how I find her. The staff could not be more welcoming or friendly. They make sure that she is included in many activities so I know that she is not just left alone. I have two young children who have always been completely welcome to visit. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I could not recommend Wren House highly enough.

My mother has been a resident for just over two years and it has proved to be a very happy time for her. I cannot praise the staff more highly for the dignified and sensitive care they provide. The manager has been extremely understanding and supportive of my families needs as 'carers' in the wider sense and she, with her staff always make themselves available to discuss any changes in my mother's welfare, health and happiness. My only slight reservations concerning facilities is the difficulty of wheelchair access ( should a resident temporarily require one) from the extension ground floor to the public rooms. Car parking is also restricted

Wren House is a charming, well appointed house where my mother spent the last year of her life. She was very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful team that took care of her every need. My mother never stopped saying how kind everyone was to her. The meals were all cooked on the premises and were delicious with wonderful cakes for afternoon tea. A real home from home.

From the start Wren House provided for my family a sensitive, caring and professional service. The staff at all levels were cheerful and receptive to the smallest suggestion or observation. Care was taken to involve residents in activities and individual requests or needs were individually met. An unfortunate, singular disciplinary matter concerning one member of staff was dealt with in an exemplary manner, albeit hindered by the slow process of police investigation. The home was always immaculately clean and fresh smelling. We were unequivocally satisfied.

Mt stepfather lived at Wren House for almost 5 years until dementia caused him to require more specialised care. Wren House is unique in its quality of care and the maintaining of high living standards. The house is elegant and well furnished and does not have the feel of a care nursing home. The staff are like a family and care for the residents accommodating their changing needs, with real affection and professionalism. I cannot recommend Wren House highly enough as we had complete peace of mind and trust in his safety and happiness in his time.

Overall Experience

Wren House is a very much a home from home.

They offer outstanding care for my 93 year old mother who is very mobile but somewhat confused and forgetful. Residents are treated with utmost respect and courtesy at all times.

The staff are extremely caring, always welcoming, always approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Activities and outings are arranged and residents encouraged to participate.

The rooms are large and residents are encouraged to furnish them with their own belongings. A very pleasant garden with seating is easily accessible for all to enjoy.

The food is excellent, everything home cooked every day. Breakfast served in the rooms. Lunch served for those that so wish in the dining room where the tables are laid with fine china and glasses and the food served just as this generation probably expect. After lunch coffee, served on individual trays, is always offered either in the lounge or in their rooms. Likewise individual trays of afternoon tea and homemade cake is served on bone china with silver teapots in their rooms or in the lounge. Supper is also served in the evening, any special requests can be catered for.

A highly recommended residential care home.

Wren House is always a joy to visit - the staff are always cheerful, polite, helpful and welcoming. The house has a permanent feel of well-being and kindness where each individual is treated as such; staff treating each one with respect and great care. The meals are served either in the beautiful dining room or in the residents room. Appetites addressed and food always served carefully and presented beautifully. I have visited people in Wren House for many years. Residents and families love the house with all its caring staff - a very special place to be. Nothing it so much trouble for the staff and management at Wren House.

I am a mother of two and have two grandchildren, stepmother of two and four step-grandchildren. My family life is very busy, but I have great support from my husband. My interests are rugby, as my son plays the sport and course fishing to relax. I have been in the care sector for 15 years, ranging from the acute setting of a hospital after being at university to gain my diploma in adult nursing to a senior carer at Wren House. I have been promoted at Wren House to the home manager, which is a position that I enjoy as I am a very driven person and confident in all aspects of running the Home and my lovely residents.
