Review from Elizabeth J (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 20 March 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother-in-law is a long term resident of HighTrees. He is very happy there. He has been taken away on holiday, day trips, meals etc. During the day he listens to music, watches TV, colouring in, goes to shops, cinema and for walk. They have birthday parties for residents where family is encouraged to attend. He has visits from, chiropodist, doctors, he's taken to the dentist and so his physical health is well looked after. If the weather is good they will go outside in the garden, go for a walk or to the park. He is well fed. We are kept up to date with any incidents at the home. We are confident that he is safe and well looked after.

Review from Barbara E (Sister of Resident) published on 13 February 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Would not recommend the above home for vulnerable adults. Many safeguarding issues in tandem. The manager has a very indifferent, negative and defensive attitude. The home operates on a blame the victim culture - even though residents are learning disabled and need 24-hour care. My brother has been here for many years and it was a very good home in previous years. Unfortunately, since changing hands there has been many changes of staff, absences, allegations of abuse and ongoing, safeguarding concerns relating to serious incidents. Residents generally sit around in the lounge with the TV on or take themselves off to bed - not engaged in activities of any description and completely lack stimulation. Very concerning.
