Living at Church Rose Nursing Home is very good for me. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. They make sure our rooms are clean. They provide home-cooked food. They make sure a nurse is available if we need one.

The team at Church Rose are fantastic, from the staff who care for the residents, to the staff who cook and clean. They all know my dad's name and they always interact with him, even if only passing. My dad is always dressed and clean and with the other residents in the lounge. He enjoys the food and
entertainment provided. I can't thank the team enough for their care and support they show my dad. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone. Thank you.

My father has been in the care of Church Rose Nursing Home, Handsworth since January 20th. The care he receives is excellent. The home is always clean and fresh and my father is kept the same. My father loves the food too. The manager and her team are fantastic. Church Rose has a home-from-home feel
and the staff are really interested in my father and his well-being. As a family, we are very grateful and have just been to their coronation celebration party. My father and I thoroughly enjoyed it with the local school singing to us and I sampled the food - lovely. My father has settled in and is a part of the Church Rose family now. Thank you.
Reply from Mae Lacson, Manager at Church Rose Nursing HomeThank you very much for your kind words and positive review. He is definitely a part of our family now and we are pleased that he settled in well and is mostly happy in our care. We are planning for more outdoor activities and parties and we look forward to having you join your dad and us again.

Church Rose Nursing Home has been looking after my mum since September 2022 and her care has been excellent. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to help. The nursing staff are on the ball with any problems which are dealt with quickly - district nurses and doctors are soon
on hand if needed. The manager is super and very proactive. The home is very clean and well-presented.

It has been hard for me to place my mum into a care home but I have been pleasantly surprised with the care, commitment and welcoming environment I have found at Church Rose Nursing Home. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, willing to help my mum with all of her care needs. This has really
helped Mum to settle in well, she is happy, always clean, putting on weight and looks forward to spending time in the residence room. Christmas was the first time Mum was not around family but the staff went out of their way to make it a special time for her. The atmosphere is always calm and the staff are always smiling. I always receive a friendly welcome and the manager is always available if I have anything to discuss with her. Mum's room is warm and welcoming and near the nursing station due to her medical conditions, this has put my mind at rest that I know Mum only has to push a button and someone is there to ensure she is safe. I would recommend Church Rose and its wonderful staff.

Well, quite simply the attention to care, welfare etc. to my amazing mum has not changed. This home is run by pure angels, the dedication to ensuring Mum is clean, fed, happy and, as much as a 98-year-old can be, in the best of health.
For me, I am always greeted with warmth and sincerity, if I have
any worries about Mum then I am never afraid to ask as I am always reassured and explained to about her conditions.
I would have no hesitation in referring Church Rose Nursing Home to any relative facing the fact that a loved one may need nursing care, after all, when you really love someone you want the best and that could only be the manager and her wonderful staff.
Thank you for all you do.
Reply from Mae Lacson, Manager at Church Rose Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words and appreciation. Our main goal is to ensure she maintains, if not, improves her quality of life and give you peace of mind that your relative is looked after with compassion and dignity. She is happy, it shows.

Very happy with the care delivered to my family member, I would go as far as to say the care given is what has helped to keep him alive.
The staff are always polite and happy to help if needed. Communication is generally good.
I would like to say how supported I have felt by one member of staff
who will go above and beyond to help.
So glad we placed our relative in this home.

I am so pleased Mum was in Church Rose Nursing Home for about three years until she died recently before Christmas. The staff are amazing and treat Mum with utmost respect and kindness. I live abroad and on the occasions I visited the home the staff were always helpful and obliging, offering us cups
of tea and biscuits. If Mum was not well they would contact us and keep us up to date with her progress. Everywhere was very clean and Mum always smelt nice. I have only positive things to say about Church Rose. Thank you again.
Reply from Mae Lacson, Manager at Church Rose Nursing HomeThank You very much for your kind words and appreciation. We will always find ways to reach family members no matter the distance. I am glad you had quality moments with your mum before her peaceful death. We will always fondly remember her.

I've been coming to the nursing home for over a year now and the boys and girls do a great job. My girl is well looked after, they all love her, how cool is that? 70 next month and the party is on, wow! You won't get a better place, it's like a hero's welcome every time I come to see my girl. Respect
to the staff!

Staff always cheery and welcoming on arrival. Mothers room is pleasant but quite small, and it feels isolated as it's at the end of the corridor, so she doesn't see much activity. No chair available for visitors to sit down sometimes.

Dad was sent here after being transferred from another nursing home. I wasn't very happy about this at first as I wasn't consulted. But Dad seems very happy and content here. The staff are lovely and very friendly and caring and have kept us in touch with Dad with video calls and have sent photos.
Reply from Carol Sabell, Manager at Church Rose Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to send a review, we all appreciate your kind words. Our mum has been a resident at Church Rose Care Home since July 2018 and has significant nursing and dementia needs. We have only positive reviews and comments to leave here, for all aspects of Mum's care and the environment that she lives in. We are unable to visit as frequently as we would like, resulting
in only weekly visits, but our guilt and worry are assuaged by the marvellous care that mum receives.
We visit at irregular times of the week, never giving notice of our arrival, and there has never once been an occasion to cause us to worry or concern. We've never heard anyone say, or do, anything unpleasant or negative to any resident (or each other) and there's a calm, happy atmosphere throughout. The nurses are amazing too and respond quickly to any changes to needs. They're persistent in chasing up external resources and services, and we are hugely grateful for the care that Mum has received since being here. We whole-heartedly recommend Church Rose to anyone and their families

We, as a family, have very warm feelings towards Church Rose and are so grateful for the love and individual care that dad was shown over the past few difficult months. We have only just lost him, so this is hard to write, but there was clearly genuine affection for him and despite his agitation at
times, he also had quality times with the people here, dancing, sharing memories etc. All the people in the home - receptionists, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, managers, of course - great leadership - have been welcoming and interested when we have visited dad. So thank you so much to everyone for all your efforts in the last phase of dad's life.
Reply from Gregory Zhuwao, Manager at Church Rose Nursing HomeThank you very much Helen. We all dearly miss your dad, our reception area is not going to be the same- all the intelligent conversations and dances. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at these difficulties times.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.709)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.709) out of 10 for Church Rose Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.709 for Church Rose Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (173 Excellents x 5) + (59 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.709
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church Rose Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
